A handful of years passed. I dutifully went to see my dentist twice a year and was told the same thing over and over. Then, out of the blue, he told me I needed lots of work done, that it wasn't covered by my insurance, and that it had to get done immediately. That's when I started my search for another dentist - someone ethical, knowledgeable, and honest. I found Dr. Bongiorno. From the moment I stepped in the office, I felt comfortable. The administrative staff are all friendly and accommodating. They even told me where to get change for the meter! Ms. Bee was super sweet while doing my cleaning, and Dr. Bongiorno took the time to educate me on dental health and overall wellness. He thoroughly explained what was going on with my teeth and laid out all of my options. During the whole process, I never felt pressure or like I was being talked down to. Plus, during each procedure I have the option of choosing the background music. I ended up getting all of my work done for about 4% of what the other dentist wanted to charge me. I've been a patient for about a month now and have referred several friends and family - even though we all live in Brooklyn! Everyone who's made an appointment with GoodDay Dental has raved about how personable and smart the staff are. Who would've thought? I got a root canal and can't keep gushing about what a great experience it was!

He explained that he would have to remove the filling in order to investigate the issue and when I said I didn't want to, he backed off. I scheduled another appointment to get a new filling on the cavity and decided that I also wanted him to check out the sensitivity we had spoken about in the first visit. He told me he would conduct a procedure that would not be too costly as he was not sure exactly what the problem was and he did not want it to become to expensive for me (my insurance does not cover a lot of procedures). I am glad I asked him to check the sensitivity because it turned out to be a cavity under my filling so that day I received two fillings. The procedure was fast and he was very understanding and helpful. He was also very good at his job. He made me feel comfortable about getting the local anesthesia shot and asked me if i was ok when he saw I was uncomfortable during the procedure. I never once felt like he was trying to get more money out of me. I was not sold on some other procedures as I have been at other dentist office. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. I would totally refer this office and will definitely keep coming back. The only downside is that yes, there is a wait to see the dentist. They only have one doctor and one dental assistant. Dr. Shalomov is very busy and is going from one room to the next so be prepared to wait. However, once he is with you it all goes pretty fast and he does good work.

I have been a patient of this dental office since after the pandemic and have trusted them for…read moreyears with my routine care. I have always kept up with my dental cleanings, and when I returned after about a year without a cleaning, I was expecting the same level of care I had received in the past. I specifically scheduled this appointment because I noticed a small area of buildup and wanted it properly removed. After my visit with the new dentist, I went home and found that the buildup was still there -- meaning the exact reason I came in was not addressed. What is most upsetting is that I was told my teeth looked nice, yet the dentist failed to fully address the concern I brought up. Now I am being told I need a deep cleaning, just as they have claimed in the past, while my insurance has questioned and denied it because the documentation does not support that need. I know my dental history, and I know the difference between needing routine care and being pushed toward treatment that does not match my actual condition. I even referred my coworkers to this office because I believed in the care I had received in the past. When one coworker mentioned that she also did not feel she received a proper cleaning, I chose to give this office the benefit of the doubt because I had never personally experienced an issue before. Unfortunately, after today's appointment, I can no longer say the same. I contacted the office immediately to explain my concerns. Not only was my issue not resolved, but I did not receive a call back, an apology, or even an offer to bring me back in and correct the problem. That is unacceptable and not the level of service expected from a professional healthcare office. I am requesting that this matter be properly addressed and that I receive the service I paid for. I will be contacting my insurance company to dispute this charge and report my concerns regarding the care provided. After years of loyalty and trust, this experience has completely changed my opinion of this office.

This place doesn't deserve even one star. They lure you in…read morewith the story that the consultation, x-rays, and photographs are free, but they're not. They're dishonest and look for things you don't have in order to charge you exorbitant prices. I came here to get my teeth treated. The dentist seemed hesitant in his diagnosis, and the hygienist was even worse. I don't have the best teeth, but I do maintain good daily hygiene. The hygienist recommended a deep cleaning because I had tartar and plaque. The cleaning cost $795. Then the supposed budget coordinator arrived, and the treatment for my teeth would cost $12,185. At another place in the same area, the treatment would have cost me $5,533. Even so, I paid half the cleaning, $395, to start, and they only cleaned half of my mouth, on the right side, both upper and lower. During the week, I got two second opinions from other dentists and called dental insurance companies and plans. The result: I have no plaque, no tartar, and a cleaning wasn't necessary right now. I had a broken tooth, and these dishonest people at Gentle Dental wanted to put a crown on me for $3,050. The other two dentists recommended the following: you have 70% of your tooth still good; it's best to preserve it by getting a filling that, with care, will last and keep part of your natural tooth. Think a thousand times before going to Gentle Dental. I recommend Corbin Dental Bayside. Dr. Lublin got into an accident and they suddenly became impossible to get in contact with. I paid over $9000 for dental work that is now unfinished and they are not contacting me to let me know what is what. I have called, left voicemails, emailed them, and actually gone to the office only to find the gate down. I was supposed to have a cleaning done today. However, as you can see from the picture below, the gate is down. According to their informational voice message to their patients, the office was supposed to re-open for business on August 1st. Today is the 24th. I can understand if Dr. Lublin is still hurt and cannot perform his duties, but what I do NOT understand is no one responding or giving any information to the patients. They don't even have a sign on the gate! I actually like Dr. Lublin and wish him well. I don't know whose fault this all is, but at this point it doesn't matter and this is just plain old bad business. If they rectify this by doing better at communicating and getting a dentist to cover Dr. Lublin so that his patients' dental work can be completed, then at that point, I will change my rating. Until then...
