Steve and I were in Monroe and were trying to find something to do. We were waiting for some people to meet at the fairgrounds in town and had some time to kill so we picked this park for a small excursion. It's beautiful being so close to the river and at the time there was fog present which for me I often enjoy as it adds layers and atmosphere at certain times and it did so here. There were also sand bars near the river we went on. The path we used started at another park, right next to Al Borlin and then led us back to Al Borlin. We wouldn't have known the difference between the two parks if it wasn't for the signs posted. We got some beautiful views of the mountains (which I think were the Enchantments) and of the river again from a different vantage point. This park would be great to come to during any of the four seasons as you are bound to get some beauty each time along with the seasonal aspect at work. read more

We live in the apartments by this park. Every time my 5 year old and I would go, bums everywhere. They built a little compound under a beautiful old tree by the creek. At night you can see lighters flicking on and off. Our apartment faces the creek and I hear people screaming at all hours of the night. I would never go there alone. It's sad because it's so beautiful but not safe. unfortunately, the police cant do anything unless they are committing a crime. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon to walk around with a friend, and it was pretty nice! Parking lot had quite a few cars, bathroom was open. We went down, crossed the river, and walked around on the trail. No signs on the trail though so we guessed a bit to turn around. We saw an opening to the stream and sat there for a bit to hang out a bit, and we saw people floating down the river on floats. Really nice weather, tree covered, and water was cold but not too cold. I went this morning with my dog for the first time. This is not a park I would go to without protection of some kind. There were items of clothing in various places and a variety of people that looked as if they might possibly be living out there. There was 1 man loudly talking to himself by the river, another walking on a path throwing things, 2 other males with machetes hacking at tree limbs, and another curled up on a picnic bench. I came home to see if this was a usual thing, but didn't find many current reviews. The trails and scenery were nice; I'm just glad I had my dog. read more

A wonderfully abandoned old railroad track, preserved just for those curious enough to find it? I'm sold! Copious secluded places near the beautiful Skykomish river. If you're a biker, runner, or a hiker, this place is a gem. Very serene and unique in that small-town charming way. A definite must! read more

After picking up strawberries, we found this cute park. It's just a sizable park for the family. Trees, flowers, slugs, stones and the river...you must love it. We enjoyed the picnic and the sunshine besides the river. read more

I'm Not impressed with this park. It's quiet, not too far from a little historical town, has a tiny BBQ spot near entryway and there is river access for fishing. However, it's been trashed by youths and alcoholics. Found a needle cap and graffiti on the old railroad. No clear trails, that are fun to explore and invigorate you as you walk. It's a place that has been meandered through, with indistinct pathways through blackberry bushes. If you want to fish, have a BBQ that's quiet and aren't into exploring, this would be an okay spot for you. I'm more adventurous and looking for a good hike, this didn't cut it for me at all. read more

We attempted another park, but way too many people for our tastes. So we look for greenbelts on our gps. This park is right behind Monroe, and was surprisingly void of people. About a mile of well groomed flat trails throughout between parking and Skykomish river. I was surprised how clean it was too, a very nice little park. read more

Secret AMAZING place! I would take my dogs here and let them off leash on the back trails. It's a nice loop and shaded wonderfully for those summer walks. Part of the loops goes near the river so you can stop off and cool off while chucking some rocks into the water. The parking isn't bad. It can be crowded in the summer but the fall is perfect time for a nice walk. read more

It was an overall okay experience not the best but my little cousin made it quiet an experience

Always great to go walking through here on a clear, sunny day. The trails are maintained, and show zero elevation gain. The parking lot includes picnic tables and a bathroom, and then there is a path leading down to the start of the trail. On days (especially in summer) where the water level is very low, a huge gravel bar shows up on the river (and there's loads of folks walking around and sometimes fishing off the river). Mainly maple trees and bushes on the trails but there are a few evergreen trees around. It can be accessed mainly by Highway 203 just north of the Skykomish River bridge, but Yelp's address of Simons Rd works as well. Especially on a nice day, this park is fun to walk around and go to. read more
