Best dog park in the area. My dog absolutely loves this park and it's always full of dogs. There's a little covered area for when it's raining and there's a water fountain for the dogs. During the winter months the parking lot floods and closes but it's a short walk to the park! Highly recommend checking it out, your dog will thank you! read more

The park has good amenities, but my problem is more with the people who seem to think they own the place. We've owned and fostered rescued dogs for 30 years and have been to most of the dog parks in Seattle and the east side. We've got a pretty high tolerance for dog and people behavior, but this place is notable for both. We've taken our dogs there roughly 12 times now and about half the time it's just been people and families like us looking to give their dogs some socialization and exercise. Lately though, it's been populated by a group of regulars who seem to like making others feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. An unusually high percentage of the dogs also appear to have behavioral issues. Good luck read more

Love love love it here. My dogs go absolutely nuts when we get there. So many obstacles to enjoy as well as lots of friends. Love how big it is, one of my dogs is shy and she has room to keep her distance and focus on fetch. While the other runs around like an absolute maniac. So fun! The only negative reviews here are from people who haven't trained their dogs well. I could see how certain aspects would be difficult if you had a rowdy dog, but if you have a rowdy dog. It's likely best to train them prior to dog park visits anyways. No one likes that one dog who harasses everyone and their brother... read more

Not sure why all the negative reviews. It's a huge open space with tons of water on site. The fence is a little short, so those with jumpers should keep an eye on their pups. The south parking lot is only a few steps from the park and there are plenty of gates with bags and trash cans. Not very busy on a sunny Sunday morning but we are glad this park is available to us and our pup! read more

This is probably one of the saddest excuses for a dog park I've ever seen. Monroe really needs a dog park, especially with how big it's gotten lately, but the developers of this one should be ashamed of their efforts. First, the fence of the dog park is pointless. It's only chain link on one side, and the other sides are less than 3 feet high and only partially reinforced with a chicken-wire type of fencing. I wasn't prepared for this when I took my large German Shepherd and he could easily walk over the fence, as well as go between the fence slats in the other areas that weren't reinforced. I also watched smaller dogs just bolt in and out of the dog area because it was so lousily fenced. My dog is pretty obedient with recall, but throw in new exciting dogs and new surroundings and it makes me think the people who planned this park don't own dogs themselves. Second, I've never been to a dog park that didn't have some sort of water for the dogs. No water fountain, no spigots, nothing. I didn't bring my dog's bowl or extra water because it seemed from the description online that it had something of that nature, but nope... nothing. My poor dog was panting within five minutes of running around and I had nothing to offer him. And seriously, who's idea was it to put a random fire hydrant to add "whimsy" and dog agility equipment that 99% of the dogs aren't going to use? Waste of space. Lastly, the regulars at the park seemed rude and non-compliant with the on-leash areas of the larger park. It seems like the locals like to let their dogs loose to run towards the dog park itself after getting out of their cars, but could care less about others who are actually following the rules. One lady who had two corgis and another smaller dog, that wasn't exactly friendly, didn't seem to care that her dog was running full bore towards mine while walking towards the dog area, then acted as if the world had ended when my dog gave a warning bark to back off. It's what dogs do when they know they are on leash and another un-trained dog isn't. It's so frustrating. I'm now avoiding this park all together and would rather my dog just run in the backyard. Poor design, poor quality and poorly thought out. read more

*Take W Main Street to Village Way. The park entrance is near the Monroe Library.* My friend and I (and we obviously brought our dogs) were up for an adventure and we wanted to try a new dog park. We took a little road trip to Monroe. We had a hard time finding the park entrance since the GPS did not lead us to the correct place. The park size is decent. Lots of grass with little rocks/pebbles. There is a decent size area for fetching balls and an area for agility exercises. My dog has been in an agility class so she was wiling to jump, climb, etc for a treat! (Gotta bribe her to do something! ;-) ) We had fun playing in the agility area. You would need to bring water for the pups after a romp in the park. read more

Parking is okay. But the dog park section is usually flooded. You have to stay on leash until the long walk to the dog park and you are usually dragged because your dog knows where you are headed for fun. The whole park is always flooded. Come in RAIN BOOTS. Bring a towel. And please don't bring dogs you know to be aggressive. Unfortunately, I drive to Redmond 35 min away because this dog park doesn't work for us. read more

Somewhat small, but clean. I'm always irritated when people complain that an off leash dog park isn't fenced, or it isn't fenced well enough. My thoughts are, if your dog isn't trained well enough to come to you when called, then he/she shouldn't be off leash in public. (for their safety, and others') Yes there is a small fence around this dog park, and yes I've seen a spaniel jumping over it, back and forth for fun. I'd say, this is a nice little fence, if you have a young puppy you want to keep contained while you play fetch during the week when other dogs aren't there. Other than that, I find it annoying to have the fence. The parking lot runs all along the dog park... but I have to walk all the way down to the gate to get in and out. (That or climb over, with my 60lb dog in my arms.) I've tried to play fetch here with my dog... but there's always faster dogs, that seem to get the ball before my dog can... and often the owners don't even notice that I'm chasing their dog around asking him to drop the ball. I like that there's agility equipment to practice on, and that my dog can play with other dogs. But I won't bother playing fetch with him anymore when other dogs are there. We can do that at home. read more

i was very surprised and happy to see that monroe has a dog park. it has a great location across the parking lot from the river too. only thing, be prepared for some stupid owners. lots of people 'pretend' to not see their dogs pooping or are just not paying attention at all - result, watch where you step!!! also, some owners are obnoxious and were talking smack about my amazing dog to their friends when they didn't even know my dog. so it's a give and take at this place. i'm happy we have the park in town, but sometimes i am reluctant to go because of the humans. read more

I'm between 2 and 3 stars overall on this dog park - primarily due to the fence. It is important to note that this park is entirely fenced with a low (maybe 30" high) split rail fence plus chicken wire. From late fall until Spring, the chicken wire is removed (to reduce flooding from tall grass woven into the fencing). Because the chicken wire is removed, clever dogs can go under or through the fencing - teaching other dogs the same trick. In the spring/summer, when the wire is up, the short stature of this fence seems to encourage agile dogs to jump it (possible teaching your dog a trick that hadn't occurred to them before). The field is decently sized, with plenty of room for running and fetch. It is partially barked, and partially grassy. There is wooden agility equipment, if your pooch is so inclined. It can be a little tricky to find the first time. Parking lot is adjacent to the off-leash area Bring your own water/bowl No off-leash river access No shy dog area There are a few benches During the day (business hours) this park has few - if any - dogs. Just like any dog park: People bring their dogs to be be social, but not all dogs are well-socialized. Be watchful. read more
