We tried several different dishes like the Buttermilk-fried chicken, sourdough bread, mash potatoes, french fries, baked broccoli and Slow-cooked beef cheek. My favorite was the buttermilk fried chicken. Definitely can't go wrong with that. All of it was delish. So much flavor and good size to share with 3 people. We also got Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. So yummy! Definitely give it a shot.

The service was OK, the food offerings just not enticing at all (we ended up with Caesar salads as the main, and stopped to buy some food at a Sainsbury's local and take it back to our hotel room. The cost of cocktails and mocktails was absurd. Mrs G got a mocktail that was totally tasteless for £9.50. I had a margarita that tasted good but the glass was 80% filled with the biggest block of ice that I have ever seen - for £14.50!!!! Advice - stick with beer or wine and don't even consider cocktails!!! The place is still attractive but the fact that it was virtually empty on a Friday evening at 7-8pm is maybe explained by all the foregoing??

I've been meaning to try Seoul Kimchi for ages but I'm rarely in this part of town. However it's…read moreactually a cheap cab ride from the city centre and well worth the effort. This is overall the best Korean food experience I've had in Manchester. For a start out unlike some other places you automatically get complimentary banchan - excellent kimchi and a delightful sweet soybean dish I hadn't tried before. The Korean seafood pancake was quite eggy but that texture actually worked well with the crispy spring onions and chewy squid. Fantastic spicy dip as well. The beef bibimbap was excellent (I notice another review says she preferred eatGoody's - to me they were around the same but I just take this moment to say the Manchester Uni is really blessed to have 2 excellent Korean joints, unlike anywhere else in the city!) and they leave the red chilli sauce with you so you can get the mix exactly to your taste. Prices are reasonable and while it wouldn't necessarily be an everyday lunch it's definitely somewhere you could afford fairly regularly. As other reviewers have noted this is very small place and although we got seats straight away, arriving before 12 on a Wednesday, I think arriving later you could well end up waiting. However I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place which at the moment I would say is the top choice for anyone wanting to eat Korean food in Manchester.

I had the kimchi tofu jigae and the kimchi pancake which was pretty big but tasted amazing. In the jigae they also added a poached egg into it which gave it a nice taste, and the spicy factor was perfect; not too spicy. The service is average bit efficient, the food came quite quickly and another good thing is that banchan is served complimentary here, which doesn't seem to be the case with many UK korean restaurants. They also have some Japanese dishes on the menu like sushi, gyoza, temaki and teriyaki. There is parking right outside and it's pay and display but very cheap: 50p for 30 mins and £1 for an hour. The atmosphere is very casual like a cafe, so it's great for lunch as well as dinner. Overall, authentic and tasty Korean food that's well priced and made to a great standard.

I had…read morequite tasty sausage and mash on my last visit, I was partially attracted to it because of the promised crispy onion rings but you get a tiny amount of these so don't let that be determinative. Side roasted root vegetables were quite odd - for my tastes they were too hard, a little dry and not sweet enough. Unusual because I find generally that's a reliable choice in a restaurant. My friend loved her fajitas and they were totally cool with swapping her guacamole for extra sour cream. My friend is a member so it was good value at around £22 for two mains, a side and a drink each. Without the 40% off I think it is a little pricey. Service was pretty good although watch out if you are here for lunch with limited time, it took us quite a while to get the bill so my friend ran late for getting back to work. As an aside, the Coke tasted a bit odd and came without any accompanying bottle. Might have been from the soda fountain, which would be a big negative in my book given the price, but will reserve judgment on that until I know for sure.

Our waiter was one of the hottest waiters I've ever come across and so friendly. I had the Fillet steak which was so tasty. I am also a member of the Blackhouse group and managed to get 40% off for the whole party but make sure to book in advance to get the offer as the tables do go quick! Many thanks to Grill on New York Street for making my Birthday that extra special!
