I really do have a soft spot for this restaurant, just a constantly great restaurant! Every time I've been I've always enjoyed the food, the staff have always been friendly and efficient and they are just overly accommodating of large family gatherings! Today we had a table of 24 people, sadly my and Alex were in a rush and had to order quickly and receive our food quickly. Within 15 minutes we'd ordered, paid, received our drinks and food - pretty impressive don't you think? I had the pizza Fresca de carne with extra onions and its was delicious! Piled high with mixed meats including chicken, pepperoni spivey beef, ham, tomatoes and onions - to big or go home I say! It was delicious - one of the best pizzas I've had in a while and the tomato base was just delicious! Alex opted for the bolognese pizza and I had a little nibble - I'd definitely be up for their spag bol after that nibble, that's for sure. Yummy. A round of applause for this restaurant as it is one of the best around! I am a massive fan of Italian food so when this one popped up in the hills of Delph, I was happy happy happy! I booked first as I knew it would be busy and when I got there I was amazed with the layout, staff and everything. They cooked the food in front of you which is what I like. You can see the chef throwing pizza dough up into the air and all the kids watch its great! It is modernly decorated with lots of seating and the menu is a delight as I wanted everything on there. Fresca Italian is quite a nice place, it is hidden in a business park in Delph, Oldham where in most cases you will have to go up a long hill, what can be dangerous to go up in when it snows and even blocked off with a small amount of snow. Walking into the restaurant, it didn't look like a great Italian restaurant being in a business park and the restaurant looking more like a closed down store or just a furniture store. I originally rang the restaurant to ask about Gluten Free options and they told me about Gluten Free Pizza bases and Pasta, so I did expect the pizza toppings to be labelled and a dietary book but they did not have any of what I would of liked. I ordered a Gluten Free Pizza after a little kerfuffle, I originally wanted a Calzone and was told it could only be pizza, I was confused why they couldn't do this as Calzone is only a pizza what has been folded, The staff did appear to be funny with my gluten free ways, and they stood as the table while I decided, despite asking for a few minutes, I asked for a Pizza which sounded nice with Curry sauce but was told they could not do that Gluten Free either. No Pizzas really jumped out at me so I had to settle for Pepperoni, Chicken, Cheese and Red Onion. After I finally got my Pizza. the staff let me had my meal in piece and considering the location and how it looked from the outside, the Pizza was great, the base did taste very nice and the flavours of cheese, red onion and chicken made it even better. I do feel the pepperoni tasted very hard and not fresh. They also had a Risotto which was done Gluten Free, my friend offered me a small bit in return for a slice of my Pizza and I also found this enjoyable, the sauce and rice it was made in shown it was from a nice Italian restaurant. This is more of a family restaurant, If you want to have a nice peaceful meal, I would not advise going here, due to the large amount of children and I was put next to a Child who was crying so it does have a very strong family vibe. I was offered a box to take my remaining pizza home which was one of the nicer things the staff done. If you plan to try and surf the internet, in this area while waiting for your meal, I wouldn't count on being able to, it is located up a very large hill what is really in the countryside minus a few houses on the way so the signal can be quite bad at times. Overall, due to the location being not that good, in a retail park what isn't that nice and what the staff did to me, trying to put pressure on me to eat certain foods, and rush me while ordering, I can only give 3 stars. If they would of been more helpful, even having a dietary book, I could of overlooked the location and I could of maybe give 4 stars especially if the staff didn't rush me, but these minor things mean alot to be so I can only give Fresca 3 stars. read more

Have to say I've been here a couple of times now as its local but I don't think I'll be going again. The atmosphere is quite poor due to it being in an office / industrial block and the sound just echoes around. Take your ear plugs, they really need some soft furnishings or booths to dampen the noise. I'd rate the food as average, calamari starter was poor and tasted like it was luke warmed up from yesterday. The pizza main was very passable but nothing to rave about. On a positive note the staff were very friendly and attentive if sometime a little slow - we had to ask 3 times for a drink. I'm quite disappointed really as I did have high hopes and was prepared to give them the benefit of doubt after the first time but sadly I was let down. read more

Went to Fresca today for the first time and all I can say it won't be my last...Sean the head chef who is a friend of a friend really looked after us and I must say for food and drink it's a must visit just take a look at the pictures of Anti Pasta and fillet steak with the best jumbo king prawns ever .. thanks Sean for your hospitality read more

I have mixed views of this restaurant. We went because of the high rating but I felt it let itself down in several departments. I won't comment on the location: it's been covered enough already! Frescas is a fairly brightly-lit bistro-style Italian serving a wide range of dishes from which we chose pizzas. The nearest direct comparison is probably Pizza Express which we both love but, at least for the food we chose, Frescas lacked its charm in a number of areas. We shared a bruschetta to start which was generous portioned but the bread was a bit soggy with oil. The topping was good though. The pizzas too had generous and tasty toppings but the base was a bit unusual - to our taste buds anyway. It was drier, more flour and water style than a conventional base. The green salad wasn't exactly green as it had lots of tomato in it - not that I've got anything against tomato but it's not green! And the white wine came at room temperature which was a bit of a downer. All in all I don't think the restaurant deserves its super-high rating. It's reasonable and about average price but lacklustre in its delivery. Service overall was good, however. read more

I have visited Fresca several times since it opened and generally have been pleased with the food and service . I went with family last night and we were not disappointed . Overall the service was very good and the food was delicious although not authentic italian it was close . Portions were good as was presentation and decent choice of wine . Cost was competitive for location . If you have not been to Fresca , book a table soon and review it . read more

Great family Sunday lunch. While the outside looks somewhat industrial, the inside, food and service were excellent. We were really impressed with the way they catered for our 3 year old and let him watch them preparing his pizza in the open plan kitchen. Will be back. read more

Once inside, the decor and layout of the restaurant looks very impressive. The menu is extensive and sounds great, however the execution is simply not there and is instead prodcues very run of the mill italian food. The waiting staff are friendly, however one member of our party sent their pizza back as it was cold. Charlotte, who is the manager, did not deal with the situation with professionalism and was actually very rude. Because of her attitude we will not be eating there again. read more

My husband took me to Fresca for my birthday. The food and service were good but unfortunately we could not relax and enjoy our meal due to noise levels. We had to abandon all attempts to communicate which is not ideal when we intended an intimate meal together. The building is not designed to absorb noise and appears to amplify it. As this restaurant appears to attact parties of people dining together the noise becomes unbearable with people shouting to each other down long tables and all competing with each other. Went to Fresca's for my cousins birthday lunch, and I ordered the three course meal for 10.95 with a starter, a main, and a dessert. It took 20 minutes for the starters to get to the table, another 30 for the mains - and I had ordered a vegetarian calzone, which came with chicken and meatballs inside, I told them it was wrong and no one apologized they just said two minutes for another one to come out - and then it finally came out 10 minutes later, once everyone else at the table had finished eating their meals, they still charged me for my meal, even though anywhere else I'm sure would have taken it off the bill. Some of our party had to leave by this time, so they started paying for theirs food. I ordered my dessert at this point so that I wouldn't be holding everyone up for too long and they told me that I couldn't order my dessert anymore because we'd already starting paying ... I couldn't order my dessert that was in the price that I was paying ?! ridiculous. I wouldn't advice anyone going to this Fresca's ... not sure about the others, this is the only time I've been, but I will not be going again - not to be served by rude, slow servers. read more
