My doctor sent me for a chest CT scan to follow up on a nodule in my lung. This was the third…read moreannual follow up. I am insured by Medicare and BC/BS in top tier coverage. Although the order showed that this CT should be compared to previous results, SOMEONE coded the procedure as a "routine cancer screening" which Medicare does NOT cover. When I received the denial of coverage, I immediately contacted Simon Med and pointed out that, if they corrected the coding they would be paid in full ($756). Simon Med took no action and just resubmitted the bill to Medicare as a routine cancer screening. I called several times and, each time, I was assured that they would review the matter and the bill was placed on hold. It wasn't. Simon Med continued to bill me, phone me, and threaten me with being turned over to collections. In the meantime, I contacted Medicare. They confirmed that Simon Med did not provide the correct information and, as a result, I am not liable for the bill. Today I spoke to a Supervisor at Simon Med's billing department. I asked her if she had all the information regarding my phone calls and letters explaining the problem. She indicated that all she had was the bill itself and asked me if I would make a payment! I told her that I was hoping that Simon Med or their "collection agency" would take action against me for this bill, since I am a retired attorney with more than 30 years experience in medical bill collection. Incidentally, the Imaging Department at the Advent Medical Building near Partin Settlement is a wonderful facility!

The employees actually seem to have been working and not speaking or doing other things and all patients who walked up to the desk were spoken to with empathy and acknowledged. Two staff members have come up to patients in the lobby and loudly stated their first AND last name and confirmed date of birth phone numbers, etc. in front of everybody they have done it to three others plus me. They use both first and last name when calling patients back. It doesn't matter how great the X-ray techs may be, because of the HIPPA issue. Two staff both doing it? It's clear this is this process here. Not okay!!! There is no scenario in which this is acceptable.

I had an MRI done at this facility and was given a copy of the images upon request with a promise…read morethat the doctor would be receiving all the info he required; Images and the correlating report. I came to find out that the report that was written up to accompany the images didn't match. I have Endometriosis, but the written report came back completely clear and normal, which is an impossibility because I have several large cysts that need to be removed. I also found out my doctor only received the written report and no images. I told him I had the cd and he looked at it and confirmed the images were mine, but the report just doesn't match. Now, I am not a rich woman and I have been going through hell since getting my diagnosis, having to do test after test, doctor after doctor. I wasn't happy when I was told I had to get an MRI, especially when I learned it would cost me $425. I paid the money through my HSA and the money has been taken out, but I am still getting harassing phone calls from the billing department saying they never got paid. I've told them several times I have paid it, but now I'm even more pissed because I paid a huge amount of money for something they screwed up in the first place. I was scheduled for surgery Thursday July 25, 2019 to remove my cysts, however the surgery was cancelled because I didn't have the proper report to go with the MRI and the doctor didn't feel comfortable to do the surgery. So, once again I am stuck in debilitating pain waiting in limbo to find out what my next move is. My biggest concern is that someone else is out there with my report under their name probably freaking out thinking they have an illness they don't even have. This facility totally dropped the ball on this one and should be looking forward to a malpractice suit.

During the appointments we felt safe and comfortable with the care team we were working with. They explained everything to us and made sure we always were understanding of what was happening. The waiting area is also very pleasant and provides a spacious place for you to wait. I didn't feel crammed in which I appreciated. We have had a great experience so far using this facility for outpatient services and plan to continue to do so in the future!

However, after today I am impressed! Making an appointment is very easy to do online. It doesn't take long and the step by step process is seamless. On top of that, the check in process is even easier! You simply can check in from your phone or check in using the touch screen service bar once you get inside. I probably sat in the waiting room for a total of three minutes before I was called back to do my blood work. On top of that, the place is very clean. The employees seem very friendly and straightforward on their job. I wasn't even in the facility for more then twenty minutes. The in and out was a breeze!
