Great ballpark! Parking can be tricky. Love the view since the park is on the smaller side so a great view wherever you sit. They have a lot of activities to keep the crowd entertained and the players put on a great game. There is parking right across from the field but it fills up quick. After driving around the block a couple times you can find parking garages and other areas that are easily within walking distance.

Opening day 2023 was a great night in Akron, and felt like the start of spring & summer fun despite the cool temperatures. The Thirsty Thursday beers were a good value and worth the wait in line. It was good to see a young crowd enjoying the home team prior to the end of spring semester. We were excited to try some of the new food options, and the brisket was delicious. Sadly the poutine had run out. Fireworks topped off the night.

Didn't realize there was a minor league ballpark right on main st, akron downtown! Stopped into the gift shop and had a nice talk with one of the ladies who was kind and chock full of great Rubber Ducks information. Beautiful park and I look forward to returning for a couple of games in 2022!

Affordable family event. Today was the MS Awareness day. They support local charities. They had local little league teams walk around the field. They looked so little but oh so tall and proud!! If you have any special dietary needs see guest services as they have a flyer showing who has what.

There is not a bad seat in the house at Canal Park. Small, intimate ball park and decent concessions. Every Thursday is $1 Yuengling draft night. Perfect! There was also midget wrestling (not even making that up) and the parking was very easy. Now as for the talent of the team, that, unfortunately, leaves a lot to be desired. The pitcher allowed home runs by the New Hampshire Water-Cats in the first three innings. Eeeesh. Rubber Ducks lost by a landslide, but with AA ball, I am willing to cut them a little slack for the sloppy plays. Either way, it's a cool place to catch a game. Very inexpensive (although I had actually won the tickets) and very clean ball park. There were even fireworks after the game, but we bounced at the bottom of the 7th. It was becoming excruitiating at that point, and we had seen enough to fill our desire for some good minor league baseball. The only critique I have of the ballpark itself is that the acoustics are not that great- the sound system is somewhat garbled. This ballpark was built when I was in undergrad and I can't believe it's been here for 20 years now. I remember the construction happening when they were striving to make downtown Akron a great place. (I think they succeeded, for the record.) The fan base remains loyal, even when the Ruber Ducks at-bats resulted in zero runs. (To be fair, they did score a few runs, but they just couldn't keep up with New Hampshire). A great urban ballpark in downtown Akron, after all is said and done.

Went for my first time to a minor league park and was so very impressed. Every seat seems to get you an up close and personal view of the field. Also, the park is on the smaller side so you are close to everything you need, aka bathrooms, drinks and concessions. It seemed like they were constantly doing on field giveaways which kept the crowd entertained between innings, We were lucky to be there on a fireworks night and they were fantastic. The fireworks were themed Earth, Wind and FireWORKS...hahaha. Of course, there was some great throwback music that brought back memories. I suggest you take little ones here to try out baseball games prior to going to a MLB park. The prices are great and they will not be bored.

We lived in Akron for 20 years. We love it when it was the Aeros still love it as the ducks, although we were with a group and we were seated at not so great "tables" I still went with 5 stars. Because of there commitment to the community. Our group had the buffet hamburgs, hot dogs, BBQ chicken. Mac and cheese, salad and a cookie. Food not so great. We ate, but then went to concussions. The offering for the regular seats concussions offered were awesome!!! Prices were expected. The pro shop pricy but you are paying for tje name.

My wife and I love going to games. Things have gotten so much better in the last 3-4 years. It's a great place to visit for all ages. We especially enjoy Bark in the Park nights. Twice a year you can bring your best pooch friends to the game! We also attended the All-Star game and Homerun Derby. They did an excellent job with those. I recommend trying some of their extreme food items. It's so fitting for minor league baseball! Sit out in Tiki Terrace. Best bar in Akron, and the best view. You only need a $5 standing room only ticket to do so!

    Having fun before the game!

Such a fun activity for a date or for the whole family! My boyfriend and I were able to get seats right behind the opposing team's dugout for a really affordable price. We had a great time walking around the stadium before the game and checking out the fun areas set up by local businesses. We bought some draft beers to enjoy during the game and while they weren't cheap they were much less than at major league sporting events. I kept the glasses from our beers and took them back to get a second round and the woman working at the station was super sweet and gave me a discount for recycling, so definitely bring your glass if you plan on drinking more than one glass. Every staff member was really sweet and helpful and you could tell that they were intent on making the Rubber Ducks game the best experience for everyone! Definitely the perfect place to spend a summer night!

I really enjoyed Canal Park and my experience at the Akron Aeros game. For anyone that remembers, this used to be a dilapidated part of downtown Akron with about 30 various vacant lots and blighted buildings. They built this $31M, 9,000, seat stadium in 1997 and have generally kept very good care of it. The team does a lot when not in play to make the experience fun for all. This is a perfect night out for families that don't want to spend $1k at Jacob's Field to watch the MLB Indians. Here in Akron, tickets are easy to come by, $9, they'll book them over the phone and just pick them up at will call. Ticket salesman on the phone suggested parking in the Akron Children's Medical Center lot at 199 Bowery St, to take the bridge over the canal right into the left field entrance. While there was no wait at the entrance, I would avoid this parking lot on a fireworks night as they use the park at the bottom of the garage level as staging area for police, fire and the pyro team. Most of the walkway from the garage to the ballpark were roped off, and they made you walk completely around a medical building to avoid the pyro area after the event to get to your car to leave. They have a crystal clear jumbotron (said to be largest in minor league baseball) with lots of graphics and a few cameras. Don't give your kids high hopes that they'll make it on the jumbotron as it appeared that they only had one roving camera, and the other cameras didn't appear to have very good lenses, or at least the operators never used their lens. I'd also avoid looking at replays as it was the worst sequencing of baseball plays I'd ever seen. So bad that the high home camera tried to go so tight that he'd miss the throw at home and the runner crossing the plate. At one point during the national anthem they even hit the replay wipe instead of a dissolve! The dissolves were super slow too...a true example for TV 101 of what not to do. Our children really loved the inflatable slide in the right field fun zone. $1 per ticket, but our one son landed in a pool of water, getting his sox wet and he refused to wear them the rest of the night. The staff were complaining to each other that they were being inundated with children and that they needed more interns to run the attractions. If that's the case, perhaps they need some paid staff members to do better and supervise the fun zone. The seats were great behind home plate, but the net they use is tough to see through. Suggest you get seats unobstructed by the backstop netting. One of the seats in our group had a pretty significant crack in it. The team did really well, but fans largely are unaware of who these guys are. Perhaps the scoreboard could do a better job at player bios or even videos snippets on where they're from. Then link the Akron players to the MLB team. The Indians have long had a Dominican training facility, but no one would know it at the Aeros games as they don't mention a thing about these kids backgrounds in baseball. If you've had too much to drink or one too many hotdogs, the restroom facilities were remarkably clean, well kept and generally a pleasant experience. My lovely wife described the women's room as immaculate (for a sports stadium). They covered all the basics. Clean stalls, running water, soap filled, and paper towels in the dispensers (something their major league counterparts could learn from). Can't wait to return. Next visit I want to bring 20-friends and try out one of their suites.

Amazing park! Not a bad seat in the stands and concessions aren't too overpriced. $5 general admission tickets. $2 hot dogs. Really is affordable family fun!

    Best seats in the house!

The Akron Rubber Ducks is an extremely cost effective and fun family night out. I highly suggest purchasing the ten-flex which gives you 10 tix for any time. The tickets are $5-8 each and the food is really good. Lots of entertainment between innings for the kids. The parking is also cheap - $5

Massive order of Poutine (can't remember the exact name). Pulled pork, cheese curds, scallions, bacon and fries.

This team is associated with the Columbus Blue Jackets. This means that throughout the year, some players may be sent to this team or taken from this team. I love that Cleveland has a team (kinda wish they were associated with Pittsburgh, but that is ok). I love the mascot (s), the logo, and the overall fun that is associated with this team. The fun part of AHL is there is more of an aspect of community, fun, and family. The prices of the tickets are more affordable (the nosebleeds, which is the middle of the Q are only $10). It is a good way to get to enjoy the Q without the expensive price tag. There are cheerleaders (which I find weird) and sometimes even kids who are honorary cheerleaders. The media team is decent and shows replays (not all AHL teams have that capability). I suspect that much of the team is shared with the Cavaliers. They have fun promo nights with some geared to children. They even have a game you can take your dog to! I feel like this is not utilized enough as the games should be more filled than they are. The team itself ebs and flows. They recently won a championship, but both games I have been to they lost :-(. It is hard to gauge this as the team can be very different if the CBJ has many injuries. The hockey is fast and quality (these are potential NHL players). I only had to take a point because they are part of CBJ.... and I wish the crowd was larger.

If you trace back through the team's history, they are actually one of the original eight members of the NBA D-League which began play in 2001. At that time, the Charge were known as the Huntsville Flight. To date, the Charge have been based in four different cities: 1. Huntsville, Alabama as the Huntsville Flight (2001-2005) 2. Albuquerque, New Mexico as the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (2005-2010) 3. Rio Rancho, New Mexico as the New Mexico Thunderbirds (2010-2011) 4. Canton, Ohio as the Canton Charge (2011-present) As the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, the team won the 2006 D-League championship (the D-League didn't become the G League until 2017) under head coach Michael Cooper. Cooper, who coached the T-birds from 2005 to 2007, is probably the team's most famous coach. He was a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s. In Canton, the team has done relatively well, qualifying for the playoffs more years than not. The Charge are owned by and a direct affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dan Gilbert, who is chairman of both Quicken Loans and the Cavs, is also chairman of the Charge. The Charge are one of 18 teams currently playing in the 2021 NBA G League Bubble at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando. If you live in Ohio or have access to regional sports networks through your TV account, you can watch several Charge games this month and next on Fox Sports Ohio: https://canton.gleague.nba.com/news/charge-2021-complete-broadcast-schedule/. It's great exposure for this minor league team. If you live in northeast Ohio, you can also listen to games on 99.7 The Drum (WKTX, Cortland serving Youngstown). Opened in 1951, the Charge play in the Canton Memorial Civic Center, next to the Canton Museum of Art. The Civic Center has a maximum capacity of 5,200, but in the Charge's media guide for 2021, it lists the arena's capacity at just 3,902, making it one of the smaller venues in the league. If you're an NBA fan, some names you might recognize who have played for the Charge include Quinn Cook, Tim Hardaway Jr, Joe Harris, Kendrick Perkins, and Quinton Ross. Eight-year NBA veteran Darvin Ham also coached the team for one season (their lone season as the New Mexico Thunderbirds in 2010-11). Note: This Yelp listing for the Canton Charge already existed (and was claimed too). I didn't have to create it.
