Ms. Judy did my facial and she spent so much time talking to me and my grandmother beforehand about our skin types and what the best treatments would be for us. Then she personalized our facials and the result are absolutely amazing! She takes her time explaining everything and she stays in the room the whole time even when you have a mask on. I used to work in the spa industry so believe me when I say this place is a gem. I've had treatments from 3 different estheticians including Ms. Judy the owner and they were all amazing. The manager and the receptionist are always so helpful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. My husband bought me a package for Christmas. I was hesitant because of it being so small and in a strip center. I was surprised at the lovely decor and relaxing atmosphere. The receptionist greeted me with a smile as she was on a phone call. After that she set me up in the foot bath. For whatever reason I was left in it longer than I felt necessary and got out because my legs were cold. When she came back in she apologized profusely and offered a choice of several bonus treatments for free. The facial was good but the massage with Mandy was exceptional. Nice spa with some very good therapists. Massage therapists Jessica and Madeline are great, and esthetician Brandi is very good too. I recently had an awful facial from Judy who used latex gloves, which made for an awful ordeal. It's a bit pricey compared to other spas, but clean and comfortable. read more

I'm still pretty new to Houston but discovered Akoya after reading great reviews on Yelp. My first visit was great and I had the pleasure of meeting Michaela who is super sweet and very warm. She gave me a consultation and we decided on the treatment for me. I had my first hydra facial which was great. It's an elaborate version of a micro but with a hydrating feature where different products are infused into your skin during the process. Michaela talked me through it and made me feel completely relaxed and comforted in her treatment room. I've seen been back for two more hydra facials with Michaela and also had a massage from Madeline which was outstanding! I'll obviously be going regularly for both. read more

The spa is relaxing - definitely come early to take advantage of the complimentary foot bath - and clean. One of my female friends had been raving about this Akoya Spa place, so I decided that whenever I had 90 minutes available and was in the Clear Lake area, I would definitely stop by. Well, today was just that day. I walk in around 1pm and I'm immediately greeted by the jovial receptionist and she offered me a cup of mint tea. I knew I was going to get a massage, but unsure of which one. After my consultation with the massage therapist, I opted for the 1 hour Akoya Spa Signature Massage and essential oils. I was skeptical of the essential oils (it's just oils, right?), but whatever secret potion they made with the lavender/cedarwood/and juniper berry oils, I wish they could bottle that by the container because my 1 hour massage was probably the best I've ever had. I came out relaxed and my knots were melted away. At the end, they even bottled up in a 2 oz container the remaining secret concoction for me to use later (winner winner!!) The only thing I would do different is get there 15 minutes early to receive the welcoming foot bath; I highly recommend and would go again whenever I'm free. read more

I have been a client of Akoya Spa since 2008. I have been to many spas in the past but no one even compares to Akoya. Their staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and very friendly. Judy has been my primary technician for my facials and she will give you a consultation first which will pinpoint problem areas and then she will give you the appropriate facial according to your skin type. I love that! They are reasonably priced compared to all other spas in the area and they constantly run specials on all of their procedures. You will not find a better spa anywhere else! read more

I give this place 2 stars. I called to make an appointment and the lady was very nice and schedule me at my needed time. When i walked in there was no one at the front and the front desk lady stressfully walks in and checks me in 5 minutes later. She escorts me to a room to sit and gave me some water and said "sorry we are understaffed" and left. I sat in that room 20 minutes after my appointment time then finally the facial lady walked in. She put a camera to my face and told me my options and what facial she thinks i should do and of course she says i should do a $200 one. We finally agreed to a cheaper facial and then she tells me i will have to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes until she can start on me because she is running behind schedule. I got up and left and will NEVER be coming back again. They had my phone number and they should have called me before my appointment before i got there and told me they were understaffed and running behind schedule so that i could have came at a later time or a different day. Their lack of communication and customer service is ridiculous and i thought a 5 star reviewed place would have treated me better! Disappointed. read more
