Skinfit review The…read moremost incredible little gem in Kemah. I visited SkinFit on a Saturday to host a Bachelorette Party / Bridal shower. I really wasn't totally sure what I was in for because the bride booked it and I just offered to help coordinate/decorate. The pictures online truly do not do this little charming facility justice. Initially when you walk in you're greeted by a beautiful courtyard. The plants and water features set the tranquil tone that SkinFit is going for. We were able to set up the party space in their sun room but they also offered the courtyard, patio, and inside to us. They pulled out all the stops and even had the event catered for us. For breakfast we had muffins & fruit & later for lunch we had charcuterie cups, mimosas, wine, water, chicken salad croissant sandwiches, chips, fruit, and adorable banana puddings in face mask cups. The pink and maroon color scheme of the building was so cute for a girls themed gathering. It went so well with the disco cowgirl decor we brought in and set up around SkinFits food scape. The inside of the building really shows character and features of the 1930's home with the original floors and cute wallpaper and pink mounding throughout. They brought in a coordinator who really added some ease and extra fun to the party by making sure the refreshments never went empty and the music always hit the vibe of the party. Each girl received a facial and a massage (but it wasn't required for you to attend the party here). When we arrived they asked us to change into robes and let us get comfy. I've never had a facial before but the experience was great! The environment was super relaxing and they made sure I was emotionally and physically comfortable. I asked the esthetician lots of questions about skincare, lymphatic draining, and what her other services do. She was knowledgeable in suggestions to tweak my skincare routine to better get what I'm needing from it and it was obvious she's poured her heart into her business. She was really sweet and patient with all of my questions. Later I had a massage and out of the 10 or so I've had in my life I can say it was the best! She immediately asked my pressure request and made sure to follow through the entire massage with it. She also was kind and patient through the entire process and made me feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. I would absolutely choose to visit here for a massage again over a chain where you don't get the charm or dedication. It was evident to me that this little business cares about its customers. They pulled out all the stops and did everything they could to cater to our party. They communicated with us what we could expect before hand but genuinely I didn't expect it to be so amazing. We all felt very pampered and relaxed by the end of the party. I'm already looking for excuses to host another girls day here!! Once I stepped inside I was shocked at how quiet it was given its location. I was there to receive a massage, and it was an easy process. I filled out a form, had a little convo about previous injuries, what type of pressure I liked, etc. Once back in the room there was nice ocean waves playing. The massage itself was very relaxing! The entire place felt severely understaffed. One of the biggest reasons we chose this spa was the salt cave, which they promote heavily, yet we were asked to leave because of a "private event." The facilities were also poorly designed. The only showers are located near the heated pool, steam room, and sauna, so you're sweating again immediately after trying to rinse off. Basic amenities were lacking. No brushes or bags were available unless you went searching, and the space lacked the little touches you'd expect from a luxury spa. While my full body massage was the only redeeming part of the visit, my friend had a not so great experience. We booked an additional $300 in foot massages in the salt cave (on top of our $200 full body treatments), only to find out that it was not going to be done by massage therapists, but nail technicians. They were very nice, but there was no real pressure or technique. It felt like a total waste of money. You should really disclose that. We also ordered a bottle of Moscato and weren't allowed to keep it at our table. We had to go find someone just to get a refill. This was a $750 visit that didn't feel luxurious in the slightest. If you're looking for a real spa experience, I highly recommend going to the Houstonian instead. This spa just didn't deliver in service, amenities, or value. ***********Update: The manager was suppose to call us but she never did. I called and spoke to Tracy and she did not understand my frustration about my massage being done by a nail tech. She said she would call me back and never did. My massage was so relaxing, probably the most relaxing massage I've had in awhile. Pressure was perfect, stones were a nice touch, and scents used were just right and not triggering for my migraines. The room was dimly lit, relaxing soft music, love that the massage tables are warmed/heated, because I'm always freezing! Also a lack of communication of pricing and consultation fees of $25.00 they failed to inform they are utilizing the gift card for the consultation transaction. I was told my massage was $120 but they deducted $165 from my gift card. Very bad customer service and lack of knowledge. A total headache utilizing my gift card. Karina the Supervisor talked over me trying to prove her point which is unprofessional as Manager. Granted I had to call a staff that no longer works there to see what services I did get complete because they couldn't explain that dates and times of services. You printed out a document that made no sense to me and as mentioned you must communicate the transaction along with receipt after each service upon redeeming the gift card. Your accounting is a tally that only makes sense to an employee and still then your receptionist repeated she couldn't explain the $25 fee either she mentioned it would tack off my service and once again lack of communication. After a few weeks trying to stretch/ignore my shoulder and hip on the opposite side (no doubt connected), it was time to seek a professional. They offer a Thai/Swedish combo that was absolutely perfect. Of course. I am sore, and need to take care of the area I let get away for too long, but it's soooo much better. I even felt my spine gently adjust several times, which was pure bliss and much needed. I will certainly be back. Also, I did call ahead - they got me in within the hour, and all staff were very kind and helpful!

ALSO, I would often dose off mid massage as one does and each time I woke up, I realized my masseuse had paused.
