So let me start this off with I have been here more than once and loved it. So I decided to take my husband and some of our friends their for his birthday. We made a reservation for 730. We arrived at 715, so a little early because we had a large party. Well because of their seating mix up. Then they said well it will be 10 more minutes. Then we watched as they sat a group at a table they were holding for us. So we had to "remind" them that we are waiting for the that table. So am hour goes by and finally we got sat. Well walked and said you sit here. Then since we were at 2 tables apparently we had to have 2 server. And one table had the rudest waitress with a massive attitude problem and our table luckily had a really sweet girl. Albeit that the chefs and the food was good. The service and the manager/ owner was rude and disrespectful. I will never ever go to this restaurant ever again. And to top it off they wanted to charge a large party gratitude. Now normally I am all for it but this time no. So we tipped the good server and the chefs but refused to be forced. This place has become a joke. I will never go again or recommend this place to anyone. read more

My wife and I enjoy looking for new and delicious sushi places. We had not tried this place yet so we stopped in. When we were seated there were probably 15 people eating at two hibachi grills and then us. It took approximately 40 minutes after ordering to get our 3 sushi rolls. If that isn't bad enough they came out warm. This wouldn't be bad if they were all cooked sushi rolls. However, only one roll was a cooked roll. Our other two were supposed to be cold raw rolls. The raw rolls were room temp or warmer. The fish wasn't fresh and they didn't put any of the spicy sauce on any of the rolls. Needless to say, if you want sushi this isn't the place to go. If you are wanting sushi on the westside go to Sushi Club at 10th and Girls School. I haven't found better nearby. read more

My husband and I went here Saturday evening, was a little worried because there was only a couple of cars in the parking lot. We got seated right away and placed our food and drink order along with another couple at our table. Our cook came out and was very pleasant and put on a good show. But we never received our soup or salad. So when they brought our bill that was $91.23 I asked for a supervisor...the one lady came over and said there was no supervisor, so I told her we did not received our soup or salad and would like to have some money taken off my bill she said no that the soup and salad our include in our meal price she offer to give us them to go. We did not want it to go we wanted it while our chef was cooking. She also asked why didn't we ask for it(i'm the paying customer if this is include in my meal it should be served to me)... Long story short she called the police on us because I politely refused to pay the full $91.23 which I do not think we should have to. The officer came spoke with the lady and with us was very nice and she agreed to give us a $10.00 gift card but could not use it on this bill....We paid our bill gave another person in the restaurant the gift card and we will NEVER GO BACK!!! Oh, we wanted to tip our chef but he was not allowed to come out of the kitchen so my husband went by the kitchen and handed him his tip. read more

Where do I start...... Our reservation was @730 and didn't get seated till about 830. And yes we had a reservation!! After waiting and watching about 6 groups get seated in front of us I was done!!! After saying to the owner/manager they had about 5 minutes before we were all leaving we finally got walked to a table not seated just walked and amongst our group we figured out where to sit because all of the staff walked away from us. We all finally sat down and only half of us got plates a napkin and a fork. A lady in our group got the rest of us our plates and stuff. We had two table in our party so apparently they gave us 2 different waitresses. One in our group went to the restroom so we waited to order and I said to her as she walked away she could take the other tables order. From across the restaurant she yelled shitty that she was not there waitress. So by this time I am pissed!! Please be my waitress so I can not tip you. Please!! Hopefully the food taste good cause I will be getting this for free!! As I type we at ONE table are having our food cooked and the table we came with is watching because there chef isn't cooking yet. Never never never never coming back here!! I recommend not coming to this shitty place!! I'm sure the food is awesome but I don't care. So my birthday dinner ended on a sour note at Akira Japanese Steakhouse tonight... Went to pay the bill when I noticed that they charged us the adult price for the boys dinner when they ordered from the kids menu. The server admitted to making a mistake and offers to see if the manager could do anything. Finally when the manager came over and I explained this, she said that since the boys ate the adult hibachi serving given to them, we have to pay the adult price. I expressed how that wasn't right and told her what I thought! #$&*&...and mentioned I would not be returning again and she still didn't care to resolve their mistake. Also couldn't believe their bus boy or whatever asked me what the problem was that maybe he could help and he began making excuses for the server who was new...I don't care to hear any excuses!!! Done with you, Akira--there are plenty of other (and better places) to enjoy sushi and hibachi steak...I won't be returning to your restaurant!!! read more

We had the WORST service of our lives at Akira last night! I am truly disgusted by the way we were treated by not only our server but also the manager!! We had reservations for 9 people. We were seated right away, and half of the restaurant was empty, but it took 15 minuets for our server to greet us and take our drink order, another 45 minuets for our food order to be taken AND my long island iced tea NEVER came!! Our orders were not cooked correctly, our medium steaks came out very well done and my mother in laws rice never came. My brother in laws beer came out wrong THREE times, and my sister in laws birthday was IGNORED, which is the entire reason we even went to dinner. We never heard a single apology from either the manager or our server, only excuses. NOTHING was done to make up for the shitty service we received. Our server was SO RUDE to us the entire time, ignoring us, rolling her eyes, and having an attitude the entire time! WE WILL NOT EVER BE RETURNING TO AKIRA AND I SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE GOES EITHER!!!! Great place for lunch. My co-workers and I really enjoy Akira! The Hibachi Grill is worth the trip!

I have ate here 3 times and 2 was good, but 1/8/16 we had dinner there and it was the worse service we ever had. I wanted the senior meal and told the waitress that and we also asked if my 17 could also do that because she was not very hungry and was told yes. We asked the waitress what a dish was on the menu and she said orange chicken, when they put fish on my daughter plate I was like that was chicken not fish she told us. We got are bill and it was over 60.00 for 3 people and no senior meal or kids meal and the lady checked me out was rude, I told her what happen and she was telling me about the difference in the kids and senior meals was the oz's (like I was weighing my food) if we had a way of know they gave us the bigger meals. If we knew that would could not get the kids meal and senior meal we would have shared a meal but the waitress said we could I will never go back there Rude people read more

The chef was great and very friendly. But, we were here for over two hours. The lady at the front desk kept messing up our bills and it took her twenty minutes to get them written up and fixed. They need someone new at the front desk and in control of the cashier because they lack efficiency and service is slow as a sloth. read more
