I tried this salon with my mom after we purchased a Groupon-like deal for 2 pedicures. It is in a great location and is super close to our house.
When we first arrived, the salon seemed busy. There were people in the entrance on their way out and a few people waiting for hair cuts. Because it was winter we were asked to remove our outdoor boots and put on slippers. I would have rather walked in my socks, it looked like the slippers hasn't been washed or cleaned in a long time, and they were covered in hair and dust. Once we walked into the actual salon, it became apparent that it wasn't so much a salon & spa, but instead a barber shop with 2 pedicure chairs. It was kind of uncomfortable sitting there getting a "relaxing" pedicure while 2 men, less than 10 feet away, were having their hair cut!
The salon is not at all well decorated, and it looks slightly run down and beat up. I also started noticing lots of hair, dust, and dirt build up all over the salon - in the corners of the room, along the edge of the pedicure chair, and in their basket of nail polish colours. I was grossed out, but it was already too late as I had my feet in the bath.
One positive thing is that the two women doing our pedicures were wonderful. They were extremely friendly, and actually has full conversations with us, rather than just talking amongst themselves in a different language. They did a good job on the pedicures, but they had no air dryers, so we had to sit there and wait for the polish to dry. In total we were in the salon for almost an hour, and they told us the polish was dry and to put our socks on (it was inFebruary otherwise we would have worn sandals), and the polish was not dry, so our socks smudged our brand new pedicure. Within a week, the polish was already chipping off the corners of my big toes. Another thing I thought was odd was that they used Avon products in the salon. I usually expect a little higher quality salon products.
Overall, I would not go back for another service. I'm glad we got a deal on our pedicures, otherwise I definitely would have gone back to complain and get a refund - actually I probably would have walked in the salon, take a quick look around and decided to go elsewhere! read more
