Thao guided me through the entire process and reassured me that she would keep my hair healthy while also making sure it remained low maintenance. The last time was with hot stone. But what I didn't realize or notice was that as time went on, she just kept cutting my hair shorter and shorter until I had a rats tail. To be fair, I used to straighten my hair every day bc I thought it was ok. I'm also over 40 and I've had a child. So my hair is probably naturally thinning anyway. I called in October to make an appointment and was told that Asako is now retired and the deep conditioning treatment is more expensive. I asked what the difference is and Rei told me its just different. I couldn't get an appointment until about a month later. The vibe here is not warm and fuzzy and to be candid it never really was - I always felt the stress in the air. It's hard for me bc I'm pretty loyal and of course want to support my people but dude my hair is ruined. I had to cut my hair short which I haven't done in over 15 years. I've always been clear that I wanted to keep the length. I'm not sure what happened here but I feel disrespected. I always tipped 20%+ which is at least $40 for a hair cut and deep conditioning.
