Good food. Entrees are better than appetizers. Service was good overall. Good for friends and gathering. Very chilled vibe.

For a change of pace, we decided to go Peruvian for dinner tonight in Taos, NM. So glad we did... Aji rocked the house! Great meal from start to finish! Navitidad was our waitress, she was awesome! Attentive but not intrusive! Navitidad, thanks for your wonderful service! We started the evening with a couple of Peruvian cocktails... a Pisco Sour and a Maracuya Sour. Both were delicious, hat tip to the Maracuya Sour for its passion fruit flair! For the appetizer, we opted for the beef heart, "Antichucos." My oh my, delish! The beef heart, marinated, served on skewers with thinly sliced potatoes, hominy, and a killer chimichurri sauce on top! So good, we could have ordered five more servings and been happy... but, we didn't! And for good reason... For our entrees we selected the Pato (duck leg) and the Seafood Pasta. Both were outstanding! The duck leg was served atop fabulous creamed sweet potatoes and yucca strips... the dish was incredible! Likewise, the seafood pasta was over the top great. Served with "Aji Sauce" very flavorful and with a surprise kick of heat (hot pepper) on the end. Plenty of baby scallops and shrimp, with mushrooms and peas, OMG good! The pasta was freshly made and served a perfect al dente.... We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Albariño El Terrano from Spain, which was perfect for the duck and pasta! We were stuffed, so we passed on dessert this time around. The restaurant space is comfortable and cool! It was packed by 7:30pm when we left! Art for sale on the walls, pottery, sculptures, etc. Even the bathroom space was beautifully tiled! Bossa nova pop hits from the overhead speakers was awesome! (It's what we listen to at home!). What a meal... highly recommend Aji for a "change of pace" meal in Taos, NM.

In town for a night after a 7 hour drive and checked into this beautiful restaurant. We entered it felt so comfortable and perfect for 30 degrees Fahrenheit weather! We ordered the yucan chips to begin with..followed by the paella and duck. OK SO, the duck leg, Pato, was the star. It feels like warm comforting hug. This paired with the Malbec, The paella was equally amazing!!! Do visit if you come here!

Duck leg Entrée. The meat was fall off the bone tender, hearty and flavorful with interesting spices!

If you live in Taos or are just visiting you simply must try this unique and charming restaurant. The food was out of this world delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. I recommend the ceviche to start, the paella and duck entrees. All were outstanding!! We had a memorable experience and so will you. Can't wait to try other Peruvian dishes!

The moment you walk through the door, you'll know that you're in for a gastronomic treat. Spices fill the air as you enter this cozy spot with artwork around every corner. The empanada pastry is perfection with a superb beef filling. Words escape me when I reflect on the superb trout and salmon entrees! As I devoured my meal, I wondered if it's acceptable in the Peruvian culture to lick one's plates and bowls! Undoubtedly, it was one of the tastiest dinners ever!

This was such a wonderful find! The ambiance was perfect. Vibey music, and atmosphere. And the lady who served me was sweet, with a wonderful warm personality. She was the cherry to the sundae! I ordered the beef hearts as a starter and the paella as main dish. Very flavorful and delicious. This resturant is a must.

WOW! We thoroughly enjoyed Aji. Split the Brussels, yucca, and Pato and waddled away from the table. The Pato is amazing! Do not miss!

Apparently moles aren't all dark chocolate spicy sauces ... ?!?? Loved the education and samples. I'm typically not a mole fan, but they were fun to try. We had the octopus but to me the sauce was too oily. The actual octopus was tender and delicious. Also had the duck skin tacos which were more of a minced duck meat taco and delish. The 5 stars go for impeccable service and the SOUP. This soup is not to be missed. Nothing on paper makes me think it should work but it totally does. It's a big lump of blue crap topped with creamy poblano pepper soup with whipped cream and amaretto and then topped with a spicy kick. Someone said cinnamon but for me it tasted more like hot red chili powder. Sounds incredibly weird but it was the best dish I've had in forever. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable and the chef was very welcoming and present in his cowboy hat! Space was cozy with amazing art. Perfect date night spot but plan to spend a bit of $$$

The black bean soup with all its ethereal silkiness is now pasty. No more sitting before a wood stove in the cozy bar area; first that table went, then all of them started to be regularly blocked off. The one reliably transcendent menu item -- oh, those squash blossoms -- was out on both of my last visits, which we were not informed of until trying to order them. Those two visits spanned two years as this is a special-occasions-only restaurant for me and most; it did not leave either of those occasions feeling honored, and the last attempt was likely my last.
