Most cupcakes are overly sweet or the cake is dry or too much icing. There has always been something off with every cupcake I've tried in my entire life. And finally this may be the first time eating a whole cupcake! It's simply sweet and you taste everything in the name of the cupcake. Brava Lola, this is how I cupcakes should taste!

Coming from the USA where good public transport is rare and specifically Seattle where its nonexistent, let's just say I was a little overwhelmed. Enter-adorable little cupcake stand to save the day! We were on our way to the next line trying to get me to Platform 9 3/4. In a station packed with muggles I found this magical cupcake kiosk and immediately had goldfish mentality and became distracted. I told the husband I wanted to check if they had gf cupcakes and he scoffed reminding me the UK is not as gf friendly as other countries. Well he quickly shut it down when the helpful person selling said magical cupcakes waved to several individually boxed cupcakes all gf! It. Was. Like. Magic. Guys. While I wanted 1 of everything, I was cognizant of both having to get on a plane the next day and having just spent 2 weeks in Sweden blowing my diet. Double chocolate fudge cupcake with fresh raspberry on top it is then! The price was pretty consistent for what we'd been seeing in London and I happily returned to the hotel to eat my cupcake with a glass of wine in the bathtub. Just call me Marie Antoinette and Let Them Eat Cake. I was a happy gf girl that day.

Bageriet is a cute Swedish bakery on Rose Street in the SoHo area of London that is well known for…read moretheir cinnamon sweet rolls. We arrived at the bakery just as they were about to open. The staff was very kind, but informed us that a lot of the pastries were not ready yet. We waited a bit until they were finished and happily ordered a chocolate danish and cinnamon roll. The chocolate danish was okay. It did not taste particularly fresh and no surprise flavors. It's a basic chocolate and custard sweetness wrapped in a flaky pastry. I would give it a 7/10. However, the cinnamon roll was a standout! One of the best I have had in London. The filling had a great cinnamon sweetness and the top was speckled with condensed confectionery sugar. I would gladly get this pastry again (9/10). Overall, I loved this bakery and I was so glad to enjoy it in its cute outside seating. If you are in the area or traveling to London for a trip, I recommend you stop by.

For a small shop, there was a wide selection of Swedish items (see photos). For my fika, I ordered a Kanelbullar and a slice of Princess Torte (cake). Although both were really good, the tiny shop's seating was all filled up. Even the little bench outside had a person sitting on it so I had to take my baked goods to go.

He had looked up restaurants that served a full English breakfast, and Kennington Lane Cafe was highly regarded, and it happened to be a few minutes away from our B&B. We loved our breakfast so much that we went back a second day. What I liked about the menu was that is was easy to create exactly what you wanted. You could order a set breakfast (and easily add on extra sides), or you could pick and choose what you wanted, and make the breakfast as small or as large as needed to match your appetite. The breakfast I created had a small steak, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, and bubble and squeak. Delicious! I don't have an itemized bill of exactly what we ordered and the price of each item, but the totals on my credit card bill are £20.89 the first day and £20.50 the second day, and each bill included breakfast and coffee for two. Essentially, you can get a full breakfast for £10 -- a fantastic deal. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England; Poor and hungry?]
