Super disappointed in this company. We scheduled a service call late yesterday and were given a number of available times for them to arrive today. We chose 3-6 pm. Just after 5 today they called to reschedule to a week later!! When we purchased our unit through them we were promised 24/7 service. Well, they "don't offer that any more." What a huge disappointment. would go elsewhere for service but we're under warranty, so we're stuck read more

Zero accountability for defective installation and multiple cancellations. I am writing this to warn others about AJ Perri's severe lack of customer service and reliability. We installed a brand new HVAC unit through them in March of this year. The AC has completely failed during peak summer weather reaching 100 degrees. For more than a week, I have attempted to resolve this under warranty, but scheduling a technician has been impossible. They have repeatedly confirmed appointments only to cancel them at the last minute. This level of service for a newly installed system is unacceptable and unprofessional. read more

every year i call and make an appointment for my HVAC checkup. every year the appointment is never scheduled as like this year i was supposed to have an appointment on 09/29/26 between 10 and 2 . thank god i decided to call and 1:30 to check on my appointment and there was nothing booked. This happened last year as weil. then an appointment gets scheduled for today between a 8 and 10 of which they showed up. But they still called me to make a appointment does no one communicate with each other. I have left 3 messages for a manager to call me and no one has returned my call, yet they told me that someone named Shatira was supposed to call me and i am still waiting for the call. thank God your service people are good because your customer service are horrible. if someone would flike to reache they can at jlapinski13@yahoo.com read more

Heat pump leaking, tenant is home, Your guys were rude and ready to condemn my project and because I was out of state and dealing with this project remotely. Your gave me price for installing of a 2 ton a/c with heather for $18000. You stated you could not work on unit because the wrong refrigerant was used and destroyed the whole system and you could not touch it. Well guess what, your company was the last to service the unit. Whatever was in there AJ PERRI did it. And after years of using AJ Perri, I now know what crooks you are. I came down, a 2.5hour drive to check the condition of my property. There was nothing wrong with it, except it was older (fyi I replace the whole system for less than 1/2) Thank You for the education in dealing with THIEVES read more

If I could give them no stars I would. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. My 93 year old father need his air conditioning replaced, he got a quote from AJ PERRI for $19,500 to replace a 3 ton air conditioning system with a new air handler and condenser. The equipment with very good efficiency cost about $3,500 to $ 4,000. A honest and very good local contractor did the job with good Rudd equipment for $8,300.00. These con artist / thieves where trying to steal $11,200 from a elderly man. They say an elderly man and tried to take advantage. I hope Karma gets them . The initial contact was positive. I called to have the flush system replaced and was given two estimates: one for over $1,000 to repair the existing system and another for over $2,000 to replace the toilet. It appears that the internal components of the existing flush system are no longer available, so replacing the toilet may be the best option. However, a $2,000 estimate is completely unreasonable. A new toilet costs approximately $250, which means AJ Perri is essentially charging around $1,750 for installation. That is absolutely ridiculous and far beyond what I would consider a reasonable installation cost. I believe AJ Perri is taking advantage of citizens who may not have the time, knowledge, or ability to properly research alternatives and compare pricing. In my opinion, customers should get a second opinion and obtain multiple estimates before agreeing to this type of work. The technician did not seem particularly knowledgeable about the repair and was unable to provide a clear or convincing explanation of the options. He also unsuccessfully tried to upsell me on additional services and upgrades. Overall, I was not impressed with his knowledge of the repair or his approach to addressing the issue. read more

Shady visit tricks to sign you up for more work than you need. Much much more than you need.

Poor customer service and response time. My original window was 10-2. At 2:10 I called and they didn't even apologize for the timing but told me the job I asked for was put wrong in the computer. They changed the window time from 2-6 with the correct job they were supposed to do. At 5:30 I received a call that they couldn't come anymore and they'd reschedule for tomorrow. We ended up canceling and going with a local plumber who was responsive. My recommendation is to use more mom and pop services to get your job done- these big companies claim 24/7 services but don't stick to their word. read more

These people are horrible. I was told they would be here between 8 and 12 PM. I have been here waiting all day and cleaning my house and doing things that people do while they're waiting for someone to show up. Supposedly they called me at 11:30 to confirm I was still available. What the hell is that. I'm not attached to my phone. I didn't even see that. When I called at 12:30 and she was checking on when they would get here. She said oh we tried to call you at 11:30 to see if you were still available but now we have to reschedule you. What the heck is that if I said I make an appointment between eight and 12 I will be here between eight and 12 you idiots. Don't I repeat don't ever use them!!! read more

Ok. so they were on time. They were quick to fix the drain clog and Jorge A. was awesome. He talked me through what he was doing. the best part, is we got a fair price. We knew the estimate ranges from AI - but one company came by and said $800. AJ Perri was less than 20% of that!!! Between the service and price, we now have our go to place for our needs. I replaced my full HVAC system. Within 3 weeks, the system stopped working during the recent 100-degree weather. Their "24/7" service was a joke. I had to make multiple calls and emails and threaten legal action to have someone come out to fulfill their warranty obligation and 100% complete satisfaction. It took 72 hours to finally come fix the unit (not to mention the missed appointment previously set up). Finally, during this process, we requested to talk to a supervisor, and they were never available and asked for a call back...still waiting. It appears they only want to sell the units and not service them. Again, the unit stopped working within 3 weeks of THEIR INSTALL. read more

This company is absolutely useless. We hired them to do annual service on our 3-year-old AC system. One week later our AC was not working. They came back an entire day after we called them said it was clogged and charged us another $700 for something they just serviced! How can it be clogged when they just serviced it 7 days prior? Then one week later it's not working again on the hottest day of the summer, and they say it will be 6+ hours before they can come and look at it. I would NOT recommend to use them - they clearly take advantage as they must not have cleaned it the first or the second time, or didn't diagnose the real problem. read more

I've used AJ Perri a couple of times at my own home. In my experience, they tend to be very expensive and often try to upsell additional services. They also seem to capitalize on the urgency of the situation and the fact that most homeowners want the problem resolved immediately. It can feel like a psychological sales tactic, where the pressure to fix the issue right away makes it easier for customers to agree to costly repairs without taking the time to compare options. For example, back in April, I was quoted nearly $800 to clean my AC condenser coils, with unclogging the P-trap included as part of the service. The price didn't seem right to me AT ALL, so I uploaded the details to Claude. Based on the information I provided, it estimated that condenser coil cleaning typically ranges from about $75 to $230, with even a more extensive acid wash generally costing around $350. It also walked me through how to clean the P-trap and condensate drain line myself using vinegar and a wet/dry vacuum. Don't get ripped off any longer upload everything into Claude and let Claude do its thing That experience and prior experiences reinforced the importance of getting a second opinion before approving expensive repairs. Going forward, whenever you encounter an issue, take a few clear photos and upload them to Claude first. In many cases, it can help identify the problem, suggest the most cost-effective solution, and let you know whether it's something you can address yourself or whether a professional is needed. If a repair is necessary, it can also provide a reasonable estimate of what the work typically costs locally, giving you a better basis for comparison before agreeing to any recommended work. always plan for 2-3 competing HVAC quotes the same day if possible. Based on my experience, it's always worth getting a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs, especially when the recommendation is made during what feels like an urgent situation. read more

So called for service on boiler and pipes that were leaking and corroded ( AJ Perry did install 7 yrs prior). Gave me a time, and then switched it to later(w/out telling me prior to text notice). Now this on top of saying I had to do separate appointments for service on unit, and their shoddy pipe work. So called real plumber and both will be done same time. Bad business model!! So update. Was supposed to get a call back from supervisor within 24 hours. Surprise! Never got it. So to further add to this. My original review didn't include that they sent A/C tech the first time I called for boiler service and to look at rusty corrosion. He did inspection and sent report in but couldn't do service on furnace. So had to call back for the above service call, only to get above run around. Also added pic to further show their level of work. read more

On June 15 I had an appointment between 6-9pm ET. The technician never showed or called. I called the service several time to inquire about the status of the visit. I spoke to several ppl in California, and they were going to forward my information to the dispatch and they would call me. NEVER received a call and no one ever showed. My AC stopped cooling, so I scheduled a service appointment with A.J. Perri. I was given a 2:00-6:00 PM appointment window on Friday. I canceled my plans and waited at home all afternoon, but no technician arrived. The appointment was rescheduled for Sunday, again 2:00-6:00 PM. I rearranged my schedule a second time and waited again. By 6:30 PM, no one had arrived, and no one could tell me when a technician would come. When I called, instead of explaining the delay, I was encouraged to buy a membership for faster service. After I declined, I was simply told the technicians were busy. I understand delays happen, but asking a customer to wait through two four-hour appointment windows without showing up or providing a meaningful update is unacceptable. If you can't keep an appointment, don't ask customers to stay home waiting for hours. If you can't keep your own commitments, what credibility do you have? read more

THE WORST!!! Bought my AC and Heating a little over a year ago. Had the AC serviced in June. Was sold a warranty package at the time. AC stopped working yesterday. Do not use this company, my unit was fine and just needed refrigerant but they upsold me a whole HVAC unit which I did not purchase.

I called AJ Perri regarding my toilet that I believe might be leaking because I saw discoloration/staining on the grout around the base of the toilet. A nice gentleman came by and gave me a quote of $945!!! (I think that was the exact amount) to lift and reset the toilet. I could not believe what I heard. After he called his supervisor to try to give me a discount, I got a quote of $650. I still felt that was too much so I told him I will look for other quotes. I called two other plumbing companies. After describing the problem, one gave me an estimate over the phone for around $350. The other company I called came by and gave me a quote (and did the work) for $384. (Also, when I searched on the internet for the average cost for that kind of work, the amount I paid was consistent with the average price.) Please note: The reason I had only called AJ Perri, without calling other plumbers to compare quotes, is because I used AJ Perri twice in the past and their prices were reasonable and the technicians were very nice and competent. But this time I was shocked by that incredibly high quote, so I had to end up calling others. That's too bad for them! read more

Their advertise specials such as $99 main line cleaning are bait and switch. They find an excuse to say your clog is more complicated, i.e. they can't get access and have to remove toilet to reach clog and the new price is $700. Removing a toilet is not 7x harder to clear a simple clog. They take advantage of elderly by up charging 7 times more. read more

My experience with AJ Pierre highlights serious issues with communication, reliability, and follow through. I scheduled a service appointment with AJ Pierre for a three unit residential property with a confirmed service window between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. By 1:00 PM, after receiving no communication regarding arrival, I contacted the office and was told dispatch would be notified and I would receive an update. I received no follow up. I called again at 2:00 PM when my appointment window had ended and was again told a message would be sent to dispatch. At that point, I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told no one was available. This is completely unacceptable. This was not only a waste of my time, but also a significant inconvenience to my tenants, who made themselves available for a scheduled service that never occurred and was never communicated. Although the representative apologized and rescheduled the appointment for three weeks later, I also requested a call back from a supervisor. As of Monday afternoon, I have still not received any response. I then attempted to locate a corporate email address and found none listed. Using the company's chat feature, I requested corporate contact information and was instead told to submit another service request. The refusal to provide basic corporate contact information is extremely concerning and unprofessional. I have spent over $30,000 with AJ Pierre for the installation of three HVAC systems, in addition to ongoing maintenance services. Given this level of investment, the lack of accountability, communication, and basic customer service is unacceptable. This appointment was scheduled as a spring tune up for all three units and was simply ignored. This experience reflects poorly on the company's professionalism and customer care. I expect significantly better from a company entrusted with this level of service and investment. read more

Called for a simple AC maintenance, ended up with a miswired AC unit that was left on with no regard to safety until another technician came by and mentioned that parts were misreplaced and there was no concrete diagnosis for the problem. Both instances involving speaking to an agent and a manager I was provided false information relative to my case and after acknowledging damaging the machine and lying to a consumer they tried to get back on site to do further work on an undiagnosed machine. AJ Perri came out to my house on one of the coldest days we had in January. Remember when it was only 5 or 6 degrees for a few days? Yeah, we'll that's when my heat stopped working I called a few places in my area around 7am and got an answering service. AJ Perri had an online form that I filled out and within 15mins they called me to find out what my issue was. They immediately scheduled a service call for me and I had a tech at my house by 10am. He came to Lincoln Park all the way from Tinton Falls. Alvin was great! Super professional and diagnosed the issue quickly. Our pressure switch was faulty which is why the heat kept turning off. He got the part the same day and installed it. $600 later and I had working heat again. He also scheduled for a sales rep to come out and quote me for a new unit since it's pretty old and starting to fail. In a pinch, they really stepped up and helped when needed! I'm extremely disappointed with the experience we're having with AJ Perri. We originally had ongoing ventilation and heating issues in a back bedroom. After multiple service visits that failed to resolve the problem, we were advised to install a mini split system. We trusted that recommendation and had it installed. Just three years later, the unit stopped working. In mid January, during one of the coldest stretches of the winter, the first technician arrived and told us he wasn't certified to work on mini split systems and left. A week later, another technician came, outside the promised service window, spent about ten minutes here, and told us the condenser was broken and needed to be replaced. From there, it has been constant delays and poor communication. After several calls, we were told the part was being ordered and would take several weeks. They did send over a space heater in the meantime, but it repeatedly trips the circuit breaker, which is both inconvenient and concerning from a safety standpoint. Weeks have now passed. I have called over and over for updates. I have been told someone would call me back and they do not. A member of the quality assurance team told me the replacement part had arrived and that we would be contacted to schedule installation. When I called back, I was told the part never arrived. On Sunday, I was promised a return call before 11am Monday. It is now Wednesday and there has been absolutely no communication. This unit is under warranty. If parts are unavailable, the unit should be replaced. Instead, we have been left without proper heat during one of the coldest winters on record, chasing updates and getting inconsistent information. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic communication has been incredibly frustrating. This situation could have and should have been handled much better. read more

Had an unfortunate experience with A.J. Perri. Enough to write my first 1 star review. The technician was professional and nice, no complaints towards him. Most HVAC companies disclose how much they charge for first pound and subsequent pounds of refrigerant. They didn't give me those numbers over the phone (I asked)... they charged $137 for a technician to come diagnose and quoted me 3 times that of the 2nd highest quote I got. Just for recharge of 4 lbs of refrigerant I was quoted $1600. $650 for first pound and $250 for each pound after. I think their business model is to take advantage of people during the heatwave and make money off the $137 technician fee. If they had given me the vaguest estimate of the recharge price or given me a reasonable estimate I wouldn't have wasted my time and $137. I called and expressed my concerns, the quality department wasn't very receptive which makes me want to inform the public. Next stop... my community forums/group chat. I strongly recommend staying away, it's not worth contacting for a quote... it will be unfairly/price gouging-ly high and you will pay them $137 to give it to you. read more

Would never use them again. After paying them over $20k for a new boiler, our heat on the first floor of our home was still not working. We had 5 different technicians in over 2 weeks before one noticed that when they installed the boiler they had left a valve shut that caused air to build up in the system. In addition to the incompetence of the 4 techs who came before, one of them was extremely condescending and insisted there was nothing wrong and the problem was just that it was cold outside. Lastly, on 3 different days over the 2 weeks the problem persisted, they said they would come in a specific time window. We waited all day, and they never showed up. Instead, they rescheduled us for the next day. We repeatedly asked to have a higher-level supervisor call us so we could discuss the issue, but that never happened. read more

Tech could not upsell for additional work to clear main sewer line so left without doing anything. $79.00 deal does not exist. I rented sewer cleaning machine from Home Depot for $76.00 and did it myself. I should have checked YELP for all of the NEGATIVE reviews before contacting them for service. Also the tech was very late arriving. I was told he would be here between noon and 4:00 pm and he didn't arrive until almost 6:00 pm only to try and get me to cut my sewer line or go up to the bathroom and remove the toilet for additional charges. He said his auger bit was too big to fit in the opening. AJ Perri - Plumbing Near Me - Tinton Falls, New Jersey

They installed a brand new HVAC system at my home, and it has already failed. In the middle of a heat wave with temperatures soaring past 90°F, we've been stuck without AC, and they are nowhere to be found. We've called multiple times, and their customer service has been unresponsive and dismissive. I have a toddler at home -- it's been absolutely brutal and borderline dangerous. You'd think a company in the HVAC business would understand the urgency of a broken unit in sweltering heat. They were quick to take the money, but when it came time to honor their installation or stand by their service, they completely vanished. No updates, no technician, not even a courtesy call. This is not just poor service -- it's negligence. I would strongly discourage anyone from using AJ Perri. If you care about your comfort, safety, or time, look elsewhere. There are plenty of HVAC providers who won't leave you stranded in extreme weather. read more

Worst company ever. They came and diagnosed my heating system which was not working. They determined it needed to be replaced. After installing the new system they could not get the new system to work. They then said it is an exhaust pipe issue which they don't do. Perrie had another company come out to look at the exhaust pipe and their assessment was the piping was all wrong and had to be replaced. After 3 weeks and having to move out of my house because it was zero degrees, I hired another HVAC company. They came out diagnosed the issue as a block exhaust pipe, opened it up and cleared it within 30 min. Perrie stands by their assessment that the system was bad and it was just a coincidence the exhaust pipe was also blocked. read more
