I may be one of the rare folks that isn't obsessed with pizza. I like it, but it's not something I go out of my way to eat. Well, the pizza at AJ Moonspin was worth our drive up from Tallahassee! It was so over the top that we drove up again a few weeks later to bring family to try it as well. If you're a fan of sourdough, you will fall in love with the crust at AJ Moonspin. The tart bite of sourdough flavor permeates every bite of their crispy crust. I usually only eat the middles of my pizza slices, and leave the crust on my plate. This time... I ate every last bite. My husband went for classic pizza flavors with the Hunter's Moon , I indulged in lighter fare ordering the Harvest Moon. We should have brought a spare tummy with us because after we devoured the cheese bread, we were ready to roll out to our car. Regardless of the pizza you select, you will be "over the moon". Both of pizzas arrived quickly and well-made. Despite being very busy, the service was outstanding as there was always someone attentive to our needs. We brought our leftovers home with us and enjoyed them again the next day where they were just as good as the dining experience. You always know your food is well prepared when you can reheat it at home and still enjoy it as much as you did during a dine in experience. Helpful hint... Use your air fryer to reheat your pizza slices and the crust will stay crispy. If only the restaurant was closer to home, it would become our new takeout spot. Definitely put AJ Moonspin on your list of pizza joints to try. Your experience will be out of this world! read more

Bruschetta should be fresh! Not diced up, sitting in a plastic ramekin for who knows how long. That just makes for bland, mealy tomatoes, had hardly any mozz and two barely discernible slivers of basil... bread was OK, was slightly too thin and almost croutons. Handmade Pasta... cool, but Pop's just wanted plain spaghetti. Sorry, can't do that, gotta try do something gourmetesque. Come on guys at least do it well. Lasagne was not recognizable and quite a bland affair, just horrible. Wings were, meh... Glad I got them double done, sauce on side,(hot honey), Salad was great because they pack way too much in the bowls for Side salads. For sure, losing money on these guys... No complaints about service, good job! Because it is fairly difficult to have a Convo in there. Some kind of sound dampeners and some cork board would help negate reverb off the tin tiled ceiling. I went in, had 1 draft beer while waiting for 1 medium pizza with 5 toppings and 12 wings. I asked for my bill and was told it was $70.20. I never received a bill. So I asked directly... $70??? Me and my husband... medium pizza... 12 wings... $70?? And she said, and a beer... is the beer 20 bocks, because after I came home, looked online, and added it up, it had to have been. We set aside the time to visit AJ Moonspin any time we travel down to Georgia from North Carolina to visit my grandmother and it is always one of the highlights of our trips there. I have not found anywhere in North Carolina that compares. I am especially a fan of the cheesy bread! YUM! read more

Decided to go to Moonspin for the first time to celebrate my birthday. It was so good! We got a few things but I had the New Moon Speciality Pizza. This was essentially a white pizza with chicken, which is my favorite type of pizza. I'm usually quick to call places out for having a bland version of it, but that was not the case at Moonspin! It was one of the best versions of this pizza I've had. The reason my review is 4 stars instead of 5, is because the service wasn't the best in my opinion. When you first walk in, it's unclear whether you seat yourself, order at the counter, or wait to be seated. A sign would be beneficial for this. When we finally started ordering, the waitress came across as impatient. The second we answered a question about what we wanted, she would run off before we could add anything. We also had difficulty grabbing anyones attention when we needed something. Overall, not a bad restaurant. In fact, I would recommend it! After trying to find somewhere to eat lunch in a city I'm not familiar with I came across this place. This was a great find because the pizza here is great and the staff are very friendly. The also have a nice selection of beers. They have lunch hours and dinner hours so definitely check the times before you come. They also have several different pasta dishes on the menu so when I am back in the area I will definitely try one of those. This is a great place to come for some quick pizza and they have great lunch combos on the menu. read more

This place came highly recommended by locals and fellow teammates. I don't generally eat pizza but when I did it was one of the best I've had. I am generally intolerant when it comes to processed dough, AJ Moonspin most definitely makes their own dough as I didn't feel the crash.
