After coming up for an estimate, which was easy enough, it took several attempts at contacting them to actually set up the work. They were booked out for over a month, which was fine. The day of the job, the contractor claims they came to the door and "knocked several times". My kitchen where I was is right next to the door, so I highly doubt they did. They never called me either. I end up calling them because it's past our appointment time, which is when I am told all of the above and that I "need to find someone else to do the job" . Wasted months of my time when I could have easily just hired someone else. If you don't want the work, just say that initially, don't try to weasel of the job. So tired of shady contractors that think the world revolves around them. read more

Drew is the best electrician in this area. He provides the absolute best customer service possible. He is beyond fair in his pricing and is full of integrity! He gives you a time he will be at your business or home, and he arrives on time. He is a wonderful human being, and every job he has done for us has been done to perfection. read more

Anthony is a delight to work with. He's very responsive, pricing is fair, especially considering the quality of the work. Maybe the best thing about him is that he really thinks about your home from both an electrician's and a homeowner's point of view. He gives really smart suggestions and recommendations, which prevents those "regret" moments, when you realize a month after the work is done, it would have been better to do it differently. read more

AJ Electric will be my go to electrician from now on. Great service, friendly and spot on quote. I called AJ Electric after buying an older house to fix some items. Drew quickly responded to my call and set up a time for an estimate. ( He did wear a mask due to Covid protocol but I told him it wasn't necessary) Drew and I discussed the items that needed to be fixed and he sent me a great estimate later that evening When he showed up, he promptly started the projects and was very diligent about keeping the areas clean and free of debris. One of the best things Drew did was discuss each project and suggested various ways of completing it. I appreciated this and it did not affect the agreed upon estimate. You need electric work, this is the company you want!! read more

Drew is by far the most conscientious and professional electrician we have ever worked with. He has done multiple projects at our home, and is always on time, a pleasure to work with, has tremendous integrity, and always ensures that you are happy with everything before he leaves. He is the only one we call for any electrical matter and the only one we trust. read more

Based on some of these reviews it sounds like Drew has a history of abandoning projects. This recently happened to us as well, but it turned out for the best because the electrician we found had innovative ideas and charged us $2000 LESS than Drew's quote. Keep looking around for electricians, Drew is not a recommendable guy. read more

Drew is the absolute best. Not only is he amazingly skilled in his craft but he is honest and will go the extra mile for you on your job. He has helped me over the past 6 years with countless projects. From lighting, to remodeling, to the " I need help fast" calls he is always there. If your looking for someone you can count on, not only for quality electrical, but also for incredible integrity, Drew is your guy. Once you experience AJ electric, you won't ever use another provider. read more

Some outlets stopped working for unknown reasons. As luck would have it I got prompt response from Drew. He is always so pleasant and courteous and respectful of property. Problem solved on the spot. AJ Electric is my forever go-to! read more

I've used Drew twice now for repairs to my condo. He is responsive, and does excellent work. I met him once and since it's a vacant unit and I live out of town, there was a lock box on the door and he did both jobs well and he's very trustworthy. I've already given his name to someone and there will be a couple of more referrals coming from me. read more

This review is long overdue. After a housing inspector told me I was due for over 3k in electric work I called AJ electric. They fixed me up and saved me the would be 3 grand to replace a perfectly good fuse box. They even went the extra mile to back check part numbers and make sure the equipment was indeed safe and not the faulty stuff that had been installed in that neighborhood years before. Highly recommend. read more

Drew was reccomended to us by our neighbor so we decided to give him a try. We had three lights that we were going to have him replace and fix an electric socket that was not working. Drew gave us a fair quote, called me right back, came at the appointed time, had a great attitude, answered my questions clearly and completely, got the job done quickly and cleaned up afterwards. read more

We had good look with Drew originally then he just abandoned us mid-project without a good explanation. Not as reliable as meets the eye.

Drew is the best there is for your electrical needs, residential or commercial !

I had Drew come out today to install some much needed flood lighting to the dark corners of my house. I NOW have an electrician that will be my permanent go-to man. Not only did he pull the right permits to do the work, his work is exceptional. He took great care in ensuring that the added lights had no gaps to allow insects or vermin into the attic. He also precisely adjusted the lights to ensure my neighbors would not be receiving blinding flood lights in their eyes either. He wore protection to ensure he kept the place clean, he picked up beautifully when he was finished. After the flood lights, he assisted in getting 3 new timers installed for exterior lighting. Not only did he show me how to precisely adjust the timers after he installed and set them.....he stayed a little while outside to ensure they came on! He found the front door to be needing an adjustment, and he did it immediately! Not only will I be hiring him to install my landscaping lighting later, as well as my generator bypass that I have planned for any blackouts, but I will also be recommending him for all of my commercial and residential accounts. Thank you Drew! PS. He is booked, because his quality and prices are in high demand. I would HIGHLY recommend the wait! read more

I hired AJ Electrical to install outlets in a business location. Drew provided a quote that was very reasonable. He showed up on time and did the work perfectly. I highly recommend AJ Electrical and will use them in the future. read more

Called Drew to relocate an electric outlet for our gas insert and 2 other tasks. He promptly set a time to give us an estimate and he promptly emailed it to us. We scheduled the work and Drew showed up on time and started the job. He was called away from the job to deal with an urgent problem, but returned to finish up the work. Drew left the areas clean and neat. We now know who gets the call if we need an electrician. read more

I contacted Drew at AJ Electric, based on previous Yelp reviews. I was very pleased with Drew's professionalism, integrity, and efficiency. He returned my voice mail the same day and came by after his appointments the following day in order to ascertain what needed to be done. He followed up with a written proposal and contract within a couple of days. When I needed to change the time for him to do the work, he was very accomodating, even with only one day's notice. He removed the non-functioning range hood and installed an outlet in the cabinet above the stove so that the new hood I had purchased could be installed. (The installer for the range hood would not do the installation without there being an outlet, but the old hood was internally wired.). He repaired several non-functioning outlets in 2 bedrooms. He repaired the wall switches at the top and bottom of the stairwell so that they coordinated with each other. He checked the voltage and amperage for the oven circuit and can lighting throughout the house. He also performed a 13 point energy efficiency inspection, following up afterwards with his suggestion for light replacements, providing the appropriate part number. One item that I'd asked him to check as a matter of curiosity (a dimmer switch with no ascertainable purpose) turned out to be much more involved than he had anticipated. I chose not to have him complete this work, and he reduced the total bill accordingly. Drew's services were reasonably priced, and he was very pleasant to work with. If I need electrical work in the future, I will call him without hesitation. read more

I had Drew come out to put some overhead lights in two of my bedrooms. He was prompt, professional, and so great! I had bad experiences with some past electricians, that would no call no show and were flakey. I highly recommend him to everyone, and I'm so glad I now have a go to electrician that I can rely on. read more

I asked Drew to do electrical work for our master bath and expected the same high quality he had previously shown on a previous job - and he delivered consistent with my expectations. In addition, Drew highly respects his commitments and comes in time as agreed upon. And he's a great person to talk too. 4/8/17 - just found out this was never delivered, so here it is. Better late than never. Still convinced he's the best electrician in the Reno area. read more

I contacted Drew to move two outlets so we could put in sliding glass doors. He offered to come out the next day to see what we needed. He was actually a few minutes early and after a brief inspection he told me he would email a proposal by the end of the day; which he did. His prices were very reasonable. We scheduled the work to be done and due to unforeseen circumstances (mother nature) had to reschedule. He was very understanding and was able to reschedule for the following week. Once again, he arrived a few minutes early ready to work. He didn't waste anytime. He was extremely professional and very polite. He is very conscientious of his work and what you want done. Not only did do what we needed him to do, he offered to install our new outside lights and moved on of our outside fixtures out of the way for the sliders to be installed. To say I am 100% satisfied with his work is an understatement. I appreciate his timeliness, his cleanliness and the ability to provide quality workmanship. We have already asked him for a proposal for other projects. I look forward to working with Drew again. read more

I contacted Drew because his name was given to me by Statewide Lighting and he had excellent reviews on Yelp! Drew more than met expectation. He responded quickly to my phone call and came out to give me an estimate which I thought reasonable. I found Drew to be very personable, knowledgeable, & professional with a hig degree of integrity. He installed 10 new lights upstairs and down and cleaned up his minimal mess afterward. I will hire him again in the future. read more

Mother's electricity went out on 100 year-old house and she called a company to come look at it. Some things worked, but most didn't. They spent several hours for two days, could not figure out why, and said they would bring their boss back. They never came back, and two weeks and numerous calls later, no one returned my mom's call nor showed back up. She will not let me name the company because that's how she rolls. I called AJ Electric and Drew showed up. He spent three hours tracing lines, checking outlets, and crawling in tight spaces. He was an extremely personable, knowledgeable, and upstanding young man. He was not to be denied. He found the issue up in the attic behind the walls and fixed it. I was stunned, and my mom was so happy and extremely grateful. I will never use any other electrician. read more

Great job, great guy, great price. Coming from a customer who has worked in the high voltage side of the industry ... Drew is prompt, professional and best of all, honest. Highly recommended. read more

I had to have my panel and wiring updated from the original 1960s panel and wiring, as well as have all the sockets in the house grounded and the swamp cooler wired in. I received estimates from several local electricians, and Drew from AJ Electric was by far the most professional and knowledgeable. The other guys proposed solutions were not the 'right' way to get things done, they were the 'easy' and 'quick' way. Drew didn't talk above me with industry jargon and made sure to explain everything he was doing, why he was doing it, and the options I had. He pulled the proper permits(which the other guys weren't even going to do) and ensured the work passed inspection. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and it became quickly evident his pride in workmanship. He cleaned up after everything, and even came back to the house on a Friday afternoon after working there all day just to make sure he had wiped down fingerprints. My wife and I definitely agreed he was a Class Act all the way around,I will recommend him and AJ Electric without reservation to anyone and everyone. read more

We used Drew in 2013 to update an old breaker box. He did quick excellent work at a fair price. Luckily we haven't needed an electrician since, but we will go to Drew first in the future! read more

Drew is truly a talented electrician who knows his stuff! He works efficiently and is not afraid to attack the more difficult jobs. I had 5 separate jobs for him. Some easy but most difficult. He bid them out, gave me a date to start and showed up at the hour and date given (that's important!). My biggest and perhaps one of the more difficult jobs was to provide above cabinet and under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Its a large kitchen on three separate walls. I wanted LED lighting and not those big fluorescent style housing either. He placed the roll out stripe of mini lights, above and below, wired them through the walls and attic and place them with dimmers on two separate switches. Outstanding job, looks great and all my friends are impressed! He added a new 7' blade Fan on a 4" pole in the Family room (12'ceilings). He moved the previous fan (in the fm) and placed it in a bedroom where there was no fixture/ He wired a new outdoor light and tied it to the circuit with the other outdoor lights. And so on....My friend who was moving.locally, had Drew remove 7 different fans and ceiling fixtures from his old house to a new house and he too was very pleased with Drew. I picked Drew and his company out of Yelp based on his excellent reviews, and yes he is everybit as good as they all attest. I recommend Drew to anyone who wants an excellent job! read more
