After coming up for an estimate, which was easy enough, it took several attempts at contacting them to actually set up the work. They were booked out for over a month, which was fine. The day of the job, the contractor claims they came to the door and "knocked several times". My kitchen where I was is right next to the door, so I highly doubt they did. They never called me either. I end up calling them because it's past our appointment time, which is when I am told all of the above and that I "need to find someone else to do the job" . Wasted months of my time when I could have easily just hired someone else. If you don't want the work, just say that initially, don't try to weasel of the job. Drew quickly responded to my call and set up a time for an estimate. ( He did wear a mask due to Covid protocol but I told him it wasn't necessary) Drew and I discussed the items that needed to be fixed and he sent me a great estimate later that evening When he showed up, he promptly started the projects and was very diligent about keeping the areas clean and free of debris. This review is long overdue. After a housing inspector told me I was due for over 3k in electric work I called AJ electric. They fixed me up and saved me the would be 3 grand to replace a perfectly good fuse box. They even went the extra mile to back check part numbers and make sure the equipment was indeed safe and not the faulty stuff that had been installed in that neighborhood years before. I had Drew come out today to install some much needed flood lighting to the dark corners of my house. I NOW have an electrician that will be my permanent go-to man. Not only did he pull the right permits to do the work, his work is exceptional. He took great care in ensuring that the added lights had no gaps to allow insects or vermin into the attic. He also precisely adjusted the lights to ensure my neighbors would not be receiving blinding flood lights in their eyes either. He wore protection to ensure he kept the place clean, he picked up beautifully when he was finished. After the flood lights, he assisted in getting 3 new timers installed for exterior lighting. Not only did he show me how to precisely adjust the timers after he installed and set them.....he stayed a little while outside to ensure they came on! He found the front door to be needing an adjustment, and he did it immediately! Not only will I be hiring him to install my landscaping lighting later, as well as my generator bypass that I have planned for any blackouts, but I will also be recommending him for all of my commercial and residential accounts. I contacted Drew at AJ Electric, based on previous Yelp reviews. I was very pleased with Drew's professionalism, integrity, and efficiency. He returned my voice mail the same day and came by after his appointments the following day in order to ascertain what needed to be done. He followed up with a written proposal and contract within a couple of days. When I needed to change the time for him to do the work, he was very accomodating, even with only one day's notice. He removed the non-functioning range hood and installed an outlet in the cabinet above the stove so that the new hood I had purchased could be installed. (The installer for the range hood would not do the installation without there being an outlet, but the old hood was internally wired.). He repaired several non-functioning outlets in 2 bedrooms. He repaired the wall switches at the top and bottom of the stairwell so that they coordinated with each other. He checked the voltage and amperage for the oven circuit and can lighting throughout the house. He also performed a 13 point energy efficiency inspection, following up afterwards with his suggestion for light replacements, providing the appropriate part number. One item that I'd asked him to check as a matter of curiosity (a dimmer switch with no ascertainable purpose) turned out to be much more involved than he had anticipated. I chose not to have him complete this work, and he reduced the total bill accordingly. Drew's services were reasonably priced, and he was very pleasant to work with. If I need electrical work in the future, I will call him without hesitation. read more

I contacted Drew to move two outlets so we could put in sliding glass doors. He offered to come out the next day to see what we needed. He was actually a few minutes early and after a brief inspection he told me he would email a proposal by the end of the day; which he did. His prices were very reasonable. We scheduled the work to be done and due to unforeseen circumstances (mother nature) had to reschedule. He was very understanding and was able to reschedule for the following week. Once again, he arrived a few minutes early ready to work. He didn't waste anytime. He was extremely professional and very polite. He is very conscientious of his work and what you want done. Not only did do what we needed him to do, he offered to install our new outside lights and moved on of our outside fixtures out of the way for the sliders to be installed. To say I am 100% satisfied with his work is an understatement. I appreciate his timeliness, his cleanliness and the ability to provide quality workmanship. Mother's electricity went out on 100 year-old house and she called a company to come look at it. Some things worked, but most didn't. They spent several hours for two days, could not figure out why, and said they would bring their boss back. They never came back, and two weeks and numerous calls later, no one returned my mom's call nor showed back up. She will not let me name the company because that's how she rolls. I called AJ Electric and Drew showed up. He spent three hours tracing lines, checking outlets, and crawling in tight spaces. He was an extremely personable, knowledgeable, and upstanding young man. He was not to be denied. He found the issue up in the attic behind the walls and fixed it. I was stunned, and my mom was so happy and extremely grateful. I had to have my panel and wiring updated from the original 1960s panel and wiring, as well as have all the sockets in the house grounded and the swamp cooler wired in. I received estimates from several local electricians, and Drew from AJ Electric was by far the most professional and knowledgeable. The other guys proposed solutions were not the 'right' way to get things done, they were the 'easy' and 'quick' way. Drew didn't talk above me with industry jargon and made sure to explain everything he was doing, why he was doing it, and the options I had. He pulled the proper permits(which the other guys weren't even going to do) and ensured the work passed inspection. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and it became quickly evident his pride in workmanship. He cleaned up after everything,and even came back to the house on a Friday afternoon after working there all day just to make sure he had wiped down fingerprints. Drew is truly a talented electrician who knows his stuff! He works efficiently and is not afraid to attack the more difficult jobs. I had 5 separate jobs for him. Some easy but most difficult. He bid them out, gave me a date to start and showed up at the hour and date given (that's important!). My biggest and perhaps one of the more difficult jobs was to provide above cabinet and under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Its a large kitchen on three separate walls. I wanted LED lighting and not those big fluorescent style housing either. He placed the roll out stripe of mini lights, above and below, wired them through the walls and attic and place them with dimmers on two separate switches. Outstanding job, looks great and all my friends are impressed! He added a new 7' blade Fan on a 4" pole in the Family room (12'ceilings). He moved the previous fan (in the fm) and placed it in a bedroom where there was no fixture/ He wired a new outdoor light and tied it to the circuit with the other outdoor lights. And so on....My friend who was moving.locally, had Drew remove 7 different fans and ceiling fixtures from his old house to a new house and he too was very pleased with Drew. I picked Drew and his company out of Yelp based on his excellent reviews, and yes he is everybit as good as they all attest. I recommend Drew to anyone who wants an excellent job! read more
