6/30/26- okay Yelp.. where's the edit button to add more stars??... Reached out yesterday to several contractors.. Scheduled an appt. for today.. Yesterday, my Lexus stopped charging, then the lights in the hallway wouldn't go on.. Second time in the last two weeks and getting very frustrated.. You ever meet someone and you get a feeling of relief.. his laid back demeanor and experience put all my thoughts back in a happy place.. Lucked out as he had some time to install and run conduit.. plus add another outlet...and replace the breaker My life is complete with having a go to electrician!.. Thank you so much!! read more

New Phase Electric is surely earning its 5 * rating with a smile and unmatched service. It was truly by sheer chance that we found Ben Thornton from New Phase Electric, LLC. Fortunately for us another company who had made an appointment to give me a quote to update (or replace) my electrical panel never showed. Another competitor gave me a texted quote by looking at 2 photos of my electric panel (shame, shame). New Phase Electric to the rescue. I called New Phase Electric and Ben SHOWED UP to: 1. give us a quote on upgrading our electrical panel, 2. consulted with us us on replacing our old recessed lights (28 lights), and 3. installation of a new ceiling fan in our living room. The lights we selected were the perfect color and brightness we were looking for and our dimmers give us selective control on the brightness and color. Our new fan added a modern flair to our living room. It is equipped with a remote control for off/on, easy adjustments to variable speeds, or reversing the blades for summer or winter usages. Great work Ben. After Ben completed the contracted work and left we discovered a glitch that made it impossible to run our AC. My wife sent a text message to Ben. Expecting to hear," I will come by tomorrow" or something similar, Ben replied with, 'I will be there in about 20 min. This was around 7:30 PM. Ben showed up as promised, resolved the problem in minutes and we were totally blown away with the level of service. New Phases Electric, LLC is highly professional, friendly, great work, provides in-house estimates/consultations, provides options of products, no upselling, extremely fare rates. Ben did a great job installing my Tesla Universal Connector! He showed up on time, did very nice work with the conduit, and perfectly installed the charger where I wanted it. Even better, he didn't leave a mess of drywall dust and stripped insulation--I've never had an electrician clean-up after himself like Ben did. Very impressive and highly recommended! read more

Ben did a great job on an installation of a new 240v circuit/breaker for a hot tub installation. He did a great job. Very knowledgable, creative and experienced. Ben provided excellent service when he installed a Tesla charger for us. Cannot speak highly enough about him.

This is the 2nd time using this company. This time, I wanted a 240 ev outlet installed. Communication was responsive over email, and I had it installed the same day. I was particular about the brand and grade of outlet installed. Thankfully, New Phase Electric uses the one I wanted as their standard! I highly recommend Ben! Thanks again. read more

We wanted a heated towel rack installed that would be hardwired in. I had a few companies come out and decided to go with Ben and New Phase Electric. He showed up on time to look over the job and after his quote, he told me he could get started immediately! His quote was a few dollars lower than someone who came out earlier, but there were a couple of things that made me chose him: 1) He was not pushy and respected that I wanted him to either take off his boots or wear paper booties 2) He was patient in his explanation of what was involved. He completed the job in the time frame he said he would and did a very good job. He did point out an error on his part where he had to cut an extra hole in the drywall but he apologized and patched it. That too was done very nicely. I have a couple more projects coming up and I will definitely be giving him a call. read more

Ben from New Phase Lighting installed a new plug for our EV, installed 4 fans, and replaced an old track light with new can lighting. He was responsive to our request and squeezed us in between jobs. He made sure we confirmed lighting and fan placement before starting. We had to leave before he was done, but did a great job cleaning and locking up. Professional Job. Thanks read more

I am so pleased we found New Phase for the installation of a 240V, 50A circuit for our EV charger. Their quote was far less than several other electricians and they were available on a shorter timeline. Their installation was excellent, they arrived at the appointed time and did not leave behind a mess. I strongly recommend and endorse their work. read more

New EV charger install. Highly recommended! Efficient & fair pricing. Will definitely use him again on my future electrical needs.

Ben and Sachi run a tight ship! Sachi handles scheduling/communication and Ben does the electrical work. They are both phenomenal at what they do. I first hired New Phase Electric when Ben came out to do a quote for installation of a 240v outlet for an EV charger. He came prepared with all the equipment he needed to do the job and quoted me a price that seemed very reasonable. I have asked him back for two more complicated jobs since. Each time, he does a wonderful job. There is not a tidier, more expedient electrician in Reno. My brother is an electrician in another state and I'd still probably hire Ben. Give New Phase a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

I usually dread having to hire someone to fix things in my house because I have had some very bad experiences but this went so well I have to share. I had a fluorescent light fixture in my bathroom and was having no luck getting bulbs to work, or getting them out. Ben got them out, showed me that the one I put in two months ago was already burned out(!), replaced the light fixture and was gone in an hour. He said the new LED fixture should last for decades. Yay. And there was light! (Know anyone who can use four fluorescent bulbs still in the box?!) read more

My sister had a great experience with Ben, who did the electrical work on her new home. Based on her recommendation, I hired him to install recessed lights and ceiling fans in my own new house. I was impressed with his professionalism. He responded promptly to emails, arrive on time , and cleaned up thoroughly after the installation. His work was top-notch, and I highly recommend him. read more

We needed 12 recessed lights installed in our large living room as well as a chandelier. Was able to get scheduled in right away when I called. Ben showed up the following day and is such a great guy. Was very concerned about us and wore a mask the whole time even putting little booty covers over his boots when he came inside. I was pretty impressed that before he even started doing work on the lighting he went though the house doing an inspection on all the outlets and the breaker box. Typically I'd think how a mechanic would think and tell me a laundry list of additional things I'd need. Exactly the opposite. He assured me everything looked great and made a few suggestions for improvements that we were happy to accept. Never once made us feel like we were being pressured. He measures out the placement of the lights with a laser and had us check to see if we liked it. Then in a few hours he had wholes cut, wire run and even installed WiFi dimmer switches for us. I haven't worked with many electricians but I can say that Ben has to be one of the best in the area. read more

5 stars for sure for new phase electric. My first contact with this company actually started by me requesting an estimate through yelp. This company was extremely fast at replying and had very reasonable rates. I hired them to install an outlet but unfortunately two days before, something had come up so I needed to reschedule. Ben was very easily reachable and always available to give me the full attention I needed. He quickly rescheduled me without making it seem like a hassle. When the second appointment time came around, he actually called me and let me know he could come by 2 hours earlier, this made me super happy. He arrived and was polite and informative.
