Had a delicious dinner here. Wouldn't hesitate to return…read more We arrived on a Sunday evening, just after the Sunday Carvery hours. No matter, because we enjoyed our food off the menu. We started with pints of cider, then ordered dinner. I had the Irish Cream Chicken, two chicken cutlets pounded thin and sauteed, served over mashed potatoes and topped with a Bushmills gravy with green beans. We got a second side, and I decided on the champ, a potato and leek mash with spring onions. Extra sauce served on the side had green beans in it, too. My husband ordered the lamb shank and enjoyed it, as well. It came with mashed potato, but he ordered the side of French fried onions (onion rings, which were a little greasy). After that, I was full, but Mr. S. asked to at least see a dessert menu. It was a tough decision between the pavlova and the hot fudge cake, but we opted to share the cake. A simple two-layer chocolate cake, drenched in a warm chocolate sauce and served with our choice of ice cream or fresh cream. Not overly fancy, but completely delicious.

Lovely, friendly bar in Crumlin main street…read more I dont know Crumlin very well so we just choose a random bar for some lunch. We arrived around 1.30pm, downstairs was pretty empty so we lifted a few menus and sat down. A girl quickly came to serve us for drinks and let us browse menu. Typically pub grub and lots to choose from. I had the lamb roast and mum had chicken maryland(see pics) Both meals were generous servings, especially for lunch time. I thought the food was very nice and really well priced. The meat is supplied my Hannons butchers. Free off road parking out back. Friendly staff. The dining area upstairs looked very nice(think its just for dinner or busy times)

B Husband got the honey bbq chicken sandwich but didn't like it that much. Girl bartender was attentive. Good white wine selection. Tables and floors are filthy. So Yelp posed a question - Do you recommend this business. The question pre proposes by assumption…read morethat you'll answer based on how good it was. So I recommend it in reverse as a prime example of how not to run a business. Put shortly this place will allow someone entering the hospitality industry to learn what and how not to do it. So do not sell overpriced bad coffee so there's two examples just about coffee. Minimise as much as you can pre prepared, frozen, factory produced overly processed food. Don't price gouge for high fat, high sugar, cheap palm oil produce. If you want to sell poor quality stuff then price appropriately for example there's a reason why Greggs charge a quid or so for a sausage roll and Jamie Oliver wants a fiver. Allied to this and very importantly do encourage staff not to seek praise on crowd-sourced reviews of business for the purpose of exaltation of themselves. Take Melissa for example, just do your job as best you can and do remember it ain't the Fat Duck or Fitzpatrick's gastro pub it's an overpriced greasy spoon.
