Today I go and tell them about the empty tank that was purchased and the gentleman quickly told me he checks every cylinder before leaving there and it wasn't empty. I ask him so you are saying my friends lying even with the video?? He said, I'm telling you it didn't leave here empty. I walked out!!!! Do not use this place for anything. I am writing about a very disappointing customer service experience involving a department manager…read morenamed Walker. I visited Lowe's to return a pair of defective gloves. I have a MyLowe's account specifically so purchases can be looked up without needing to keep receipts. The associate at the return desk (a young woman with short hair and two pigtails) told me she could not help without a SKU number and appeared uninterested in assisting further. To help resolve the situation, I went back into the store, located the exact gloves, and brought them to the desk. At that point, Walker, the department manager, became involved since the item was from his department. Walker stated he could not locate the purchase on my MyLowe's account and therefore could not process the return. I asked if the gloves could simply be exchanged since they were defective, but he said the system would not allow it and suggested I go home to find the receipt. I returned later with the receipt, and a cashier (not Walker, who was on lunch) was able to process the return immediately and even locate both of my MyLowe's accounts without any difficulty. This raises a serious question about why a manager was unable or unwilling to resolve an issue that another employee handled so easily. A manager should be focused on helping customers find solutions, not sending them away when there are clearly options available. I hope the store leadership reviews this situation and provides additional training on customer service and problem solving, especially at the management level. Experiences like this are the reason many customers choose to shop elsewhere.
