I've been a homeowner for almost 9 years now. Ever since I moved in, when i turned my A/C Unit on, you knew. You could hear it from a mile away. I have been putting it back together with sticks and glue for the past four (4) years, maybe five (5), honestly at a minimum; hoping and praying it never turned into anything serious... I went to turn on my A/C last week when the weather got warmer, and it was blowing HOT air. I had seen some amazing reviews for Airco in Bakersfield, and decided to take the chance and reach out. When I called, Haylie answered the phone and she was SO helpful! Instantly tried to get me in at my earliest convenience, literally the next day. For me, with my schedule, I needed a couple days out. But, when the appointment DID get scheduled; Pete showed up at my home promptly, looked at my unit and told me exactly what the problem was. He did not come down and tell me 10 things that were potentially wrong, he told me exactly what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. This was on a Friday, and they could come back out on Monday. Pete gave me an exact price and said they would be back out. I got another message from Haylie giving me an a 2 hour time estimate on when Pete would be there on Monday. Pete came on Monday, earlier than expected (when you are given a time frame, you assume they will come out in the later) he fixed exactly what he said he was going to, and also cleaned off the coils on my unit. Turned it back on, and I seriously could not even hear it... Instantly I figured, something else was wrong because I was not hearing it. No. All these years, this one thing needed to be fixed.. And now you do not even hear it anymore. It is absolutely amazing; and I honestly just never knew any better. I am so incredibly thankful for Airco, Haylie, and Pete. I am honestly a loyal customer forever at this point. You cant get any better than this, especially with the honesty. They genuinely care about their customers in Bakersfield, and until them, I have not found that anywhere else. read more

Spoke with Hailey she was very informative and knowledgeable and answered my questions thoroughly. Sent out a technician as soon as she could and worked with my schedule and timeframe. Showed that they value their customers. Randy was our technician and he was very thorough on making sure that our issue was fixed timely and also answered more questions we had. Price was very reasonable and they did not try to upsell on a new ac unit or on any parts that were not needed. We will be using them if needed in the future. read more

I bought my Gree mini split from AirCo, all was fine for 2 years. Then I had a problem with the outside unit shutting down before the unit reached set point temp. They came out 3-4 times & finally said nothing was wrong and the unit was running the way it should. For 2 years it ran normal & then started shutting down and after 10-20 minutes start up & work fine. This happened over & over again every day. Airco - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Bakersfield, California

On Thursday July 12 my AC gave out and my home warranty company referred me to a local company. I was referred to Airco and offered a technician to come out Monday between 9-11. Monday at 10am two technicians came to my home in a regular white pick up to diagnose my AC. After all of about 10 mins it was deemed my blower was out. The tech told me that he would have to file a report with my warranty company for approval and would possibly come out later that day or Tuesday, I then asked the technician I thought you carried 90% of your items on your truck? (that's one of the things the company prides itself it was one of the things I heard when I was placed on hold with the company before) he then stated that they would have to get the part and serial number to which is understandable but why didn't the company called me in advance so they knew what type of ac they would be servicing? Maytag did with when my washer gave out..... So I called my warranty company to try and expedite the process (mind you it's been 104-106 for a period of weeks now with only house fans to try and cool off). When I call, my warranty company states they have no such report and so I call the Airco office to ask if the Tech has submitted the report, She states she attempted to call the technician but he might be in a "bad area" so the soonest they could possibly schedule me was Thursday July 19th between 9-11am. So on Thursday July 19th @ 11:13am the technician has not shown up so I called the office and stated no one has called me to tell me about a delay and that the technician hasn't arrived. She placed me on a brief hold and told me that she could not get ahold of the technician (which is the second time this has happened) and that she would call me as soon as she heard back. At 1:19pm I called the office yet again to get an ETA about a technician servicing my ac and after another brief hold they tell me they still can't get ahold of the tech... I still have no clue when a tech is coming so at this point I lost it. How is a company not going to know where their techs are? So the office manager who happens to be whom I'm speaking to tells me it's cause of my home warranty company... so I guess I'm left with subpar service because I decided to get a warranty? I demand to speak to a supervisor or owner in which she transfers me and I leave a message with the owner. At 1:22pm I get a call back and I am told the tech is on his way and will be here in 10 mins... at 2:19pm the Tech finally shows up with 2 other guys (an hour late at this point) I cannot believe how thy can't get ahold of not just one but 3 techs? The tech installs my blower but then tells me to set my Nest Thermostat on automatic and I tell him that it was... he starts to tell me that my thermostat isn't working correctly and starts to disconnect wires luckily for me my Nest thermostat tells me which wires he disconnected. I tell him to reconnect whatever wires he disconnect. He then proceeded to tell me that he would have to come back another day to attempt to remedy the issue. I told the Tech that I wasn't going to wait anymore and this was bullsh*t that he came late and now cannot fix my AC. He left my house to come back another day to fix my AC but later that evening it seemed to be working. All in all I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone from the delay in service.. Not being able to get ahold of any Techs... not being proactive in calling me for delays or calling me to get my AC serial make and model and finally the Techs not being familiar with other thermostats home owners beware!!! And to think the owner has not attempted to call me back either!!! read more

I know that the task to find a reliable air conditioning company that will not rip you off is daunting. I do not get any kickbacks, or work for the company that I will give the following review on. This is just an explanation of our experience with "AirCo Air Conditioning and Heating", a company that deserves more than 5 stars! Our situation was that we have a loft that we needed to keep cool in the summer. Therefore, we were looking for an air conditioner, that was within our budget, and did not require us to make modifications to our existing duct work. We went online, and researched many air conditioning systems, and finally found an affordable solution that would meet our need. We concluded that a mini split ductless system, would be best for our needs, and affordable. We elected to go with a Senville Leto 12000 BTU Mini Split Air Conditioning/ Heat Pump. That has a head unit, with a line that connects to an outside condenser outside. After the unit's arrival, we called Bill from North Coast Electrical, the electrician that we've been using for years, whom I also recommend. We made arrangements with him to install an electrical line for the A/C unit. To our surprise, we could not find a single A/C company that would be willing to install the unit for us. That is unless, we bought the unit from them directly! I do not know if it was a markup issue, where they make more money above at cost, or whatever. If that is the case, those companies will never get our business. Anyhow, we were getting the same run around from everybody, even from the so-called reputable companies in town. We went through Angie's List and struck out trying to find someone on their site. As we were going down the Yelp List, we found and contacted the folks at "AirCo Air Conditioning and Heating". The lady that answered the phone, put us in contact with Sean, who came out the same day to give us a quote. Sean gave us an affordable quote and scheduled our installation to begin within a week. My wife and I were impressed with AirCo Heating and Air Conditioning's efficiency! A day before the installation, Sean had the technician that would be doing the install arrive at our home to see the layout of how we wanted the installation done. Then early on the day of the installation, Bill from North Coast hooked up the electrical line needed for the A/C. Minutes after he had finished, the technician from AirCo Air Conditioning and Heating arrived, at which time Bill gave him the information of the electrical work he had done to have power running to the unit. The installer was done in just a few hours. The workmanship was so superb, that the head unit's installation in the home, lines, and condenser looked like they all came with our 70-year-old house! When the installer was finished, Sean came over to see if we were happy with the installation. We told him and the installer, that we were very pleased with the workmanship in the installation, and the professionalism they showed in dealing with us! They fixed the AC system 3 times at my house and they AC continues down. They came back to fix it and they seemed don't know what to do... Something fishy about them and they are trying to make more money to keep coming back so I highly recommend NOT TO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! I was referred to Airco by American Home Shield! Unfortunately my AC went out right before a holiday weekend so getting parts took a little longer. Tammy, the receptionist, kept me informed on the status of the parts and got me a repairman right out! Junior found my blower motor weld had broke and caused my motor to seize. Part was ordered Casanova came out after the holiday to install the blower motor. Upon instation he found a bent blower wheel and called in for the part. He returned the next day to install the wheel. My AC is super quiet and cooling faster than it used to. Thanks Junior and Casanova for your expertise. Our home needed an ac replacement.... after calling around we found AirCo..... didn't know them but had a referral from Ygrene. I'm not a huge review writer but some companies need to be recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty. These guys are some hard workers and definitely aim to satisfy the customer. I had a few questions/concerns and these guys came out and checked it out each and every time and never charged me extra. They are just one of the few good, honest business people around....Highly recommended!! Beyond grateful for the cold air right in time for the summer heat. Before calling Airco, we'd had three different companies come out to look at our broken heater and give us estimates, because we kept hearing different problems (ranging from "one part is broken" to "the whole unit needs to be replaced") and exorbitantly different cost estimates (ranging from $900-$6,000). Airco was recommended by PG&E as a reputable company, so we finally called them. Pete came out, looked at it, and immediately told us that the unit itself was fine but that there was one part that was broken and how much he thought it would cost to replace it (his estimate was around what the company actually quoted us, which is the first time the estimate of the worker and the company actually lined up! Imagine that!). They ordered the part and got it set up as quickly as possible, and everything's running perfectly now: no need for a full-unit replacement that would've put us further into debt! This is how Heating/AC businesses should be run: polite, efficient, and cost-effective. read more

Airco has the best customer service and they are very honest. I purchased a brand new air conditioner from them in 2014. Recently I had one hour come out to service it and a guy named Steve was the technician. Steve said I needed over 4000 dollars worth of work. Wow was he so wrong. I got a second opinion from Airco. This company is the worst. They offer shoddy, over-priced workmanship, parts that break down with only a 30 day warranty, and are impossible to reach. Your phone call always goes to a voicemail, and the call back is from a little girl who claims to be the owner, but has all the customer service skills of Miley Cyrus (a complete smug, elitist attitude). No attempt to fix a problem, or return to a job that was not done adequately and try to see what the issue is, unless you agree to a ridiculous amount for them to come and estimate the problem, even if it's on their own work. They're "kind of" open on Saturdays, but maybe not. If you want them on Saturdays, it's double the cost - but - oh -- I guess they're not open on Saturdays. CAN. NOT. RECOMMEND. A BUSINESS. The issue was quickly diagnosed, parts were ordered and our air conditioner was up and running on Wednesday. The technician was very professional and explained what was required to repair our unit. We had our air conditioner installed last year and apparently the air conditioner unit was missing some sort of parts which was supposed to come with it and caused leaks from our ceiling. I have two HVAC units on our Condo. The larger unit went out. Both units are 36 years old so I thought as long as someone was on the job we should replace both units. The owner? came out and gave me a price which seemed very reasonable. He told me they would not be able to get to us for about 7-10 days, it was about 100-105 outside temperature but with one unit operating,the fans in the Condo, it was not unbearable. I completely understood about the timing as AirCo was swamped with work. The time came that he stated and here came his crew. Removed the old furnaces and coils inside, removed the old condensing units outside (on the roof) and installed the new equipment all in one day. We could not be more satisified with the work men, very careful and clean and removed all of the old equipment and materials when finished. We would highly recommend AirCo read more

I've paid almost the cost of a whole new condenser by having Air Co. fix its parts (Including a $2180.00 Compressor job that took three weeks for them to come back and replace), and my Home A/C still won't blow cold air. And let's talk about the "office manager'. The chick who never answers the phone. I realize she's a co-owner, but she is the most HORRIBLE example of customer service I've ever EVER experienced in Bakersfield. We've tried to be patient, and nice, now we are mad. It's August, I've paid a lot of money, their work was unsatisfactory, and I can't get a Saturday appointment? She's hostile, condescending, and snotty. She absolutely REFUSED to work with us to correct the problems. Their website LIES, there's NO "Friendly Customer Service". This company put in the Ac and Heating in a custom home that we bought. We tried to use them for maintenence and emergency and they were a joke! They have no set hours. They will close at 4:00 and then sometimes 5:00, you just never know. Their customer service stinks. We signed a fall - spring maintenence agreement and the first time they came out we had to call another business that works 24/7 and fix what they broke! The home warranty company will replace it, but Airco won't admit they can't fix it, and as we all know, home warranty companies go on the recommendation of the vendor. Well I wasted a whole day for nothing. I made an appointment on 07-06-2017 to have someone come out and give me a quote for some work. I was given an appointment for 07-14-2017 between 9am-11am. 11am came and went and at approximately 11:15 am I made a call and asked if my appointment was going to be completed. The lady on the phone put me on hold and then came back a few moments later and stated,"I called the individual scheduled for your appointment and he didn't answer I'll give you a call back when I hear from him". At approximately 12:30 still no call from anyone, I call back and the same lady answers and puts me on hold once again this time comes back and says, " sorry they tech won't be able to make it out he got busy, but the owner of the business lives in your neighborhood so he will be able to stop by and look at the work you want done between 4pm-6pm". It is now 7:12pm on 07-14-2017 and no one has come by or called. What's the point of giving me a time frame if they aren't going to follow through. I'm not upset that they didn't come because it's summer time and it's the busiest time of year for AC companies but what really made me mad and wish I could give them negative stars for is that fact that I was not given courtesy call letting me know that either one of my two appointments would not be made. I wasted a whole day waiting for them. I would call and complain but they're closed. Don't make appointments a week in advance if you can't keep them. Next time just call and cancel give the customer the courtesy so they aren't waiting for nothing it only takes a few minutes to call. read more

I do not recommend anyone to use AirCo Bakersfield for their ac or heating service. In August 0f 2017 I requested an inspection of a perspective business site's air & heating unit prior to signing a contract. The AirCo HVAC person came late, serviced the unit and said we needed filters, but otherwise the unit was in really good shape. He did not have the filters, but would be back the next day to replace them. I was charged $85 for the inspection & $30 for the filters. It took almost 2 weeks to get the filters after us calling AirCo back (they originally said the filters were installed that day). On 12/5/2017 I turned on the heat for the first time and it does not work, just blowing air. I contacted AirCo and the female receptionist said that I paided only for the ac and not the heating as when they came out it was summer. I told her that they were told to inspect both the air/heating at that time. She said they only checked the ac but would be happy to come out and inspect/service the heating for additional $$$$$$. Again I do not recommend AirCo for your Heating/Air needs. I will be pulling them from my mother-in-laws service needs and letting my friends & family know about our problem with AirCo. read more
