It turned out to be a blown fuse (which I could have replaced myself with). Vladimir could have easily just replaced the 1(of 2) fuse and called it a day, but he didn't, he replaced both fuses since they looked like the original fuses installed from the late1970's. He also opened up the AC unit to make sure there was nothing causing the fuses to blow. He cleaned the condenser coils, turned the unit on, and checked the freon levels. I appreciate the extra work. The other positive was I put in the request through the American Home Shield's online system at 5:40pm on a Thursday, not expecting to get a response from the company until Friday maybe Monday. I received a phone call at 5:50pm the same day, and we scheduled the appointment between 9:00 am and 10:00 am the next day. Amazing! I really appreciate the fast response and great service. I would definitely use them again in the future.

It was extremely hard to get a hold of anyone and I couldn't even leave a message. I had to keep emailing FNHW to get a hold of Gilbert, who was in charge of this service. I would have several appointments set up and he would not even show up or respond. It got to be very frustrating because I was wasting my time waiting for him to show up. Don't get me wrong, the guy was a nice guy when he did show up to work on my ac. But his work was all wrong. My ac worked after he fixed it. Then last week I turned on my ac and it wasn't working again! I tried calling Air Possible, but like I said before, they don't respond back. Anyways, I called a local place and tbe tech found several mistakes that Gilbert did. I reached out to FNHW to see if there is anything they can do, but they said that their work is only guaranteed 30 days after the service is completed. This is so wrong with both parties involved. This is why I didn't renew FNHW. I also expressed to them that they should not go through this company for their customers because we're just getting ripped off.

I had given up my home warranty because my appliances are all pretty new except my AC. The AHS was upping my monthly to $70 and that didn't sound sustainable. (They were a pain to cancel too). I wish I had known about this membership prior to me paying $250 for a weekend call. But it was worth it to be cool again. Today someone came out for my maintenance call. I recently discovered the rooftop unit had no filter installed inside it -- even though there's a dedicated slot for one. Three months ago, I called to let them know I had already changed the indoor filters myself. I was just being courteous, thinking I was saving them time. Not once did they explain that the rooftop unit also needs a filter -- or that I had options depending on the system's static pressure and setup. That's basic info any professional should offer. What's worse, when I had a second opinion done by a trusted HVAC tech, he found a large tear in the ductwork -- something that likely had been there for years. This company had been called out before to check that very issue, and they failed to catch it. Why? Because they never performed a proper static pressure test or thorough inspection. They just show up, do the bare minimum, and leave -- but still charge full price every time. And in commercial service, they know most people won't question it. This kind of neglect doesn't just waste money -- it shortens your system's lifespan and increases your long-term repair costs. Be careful. Ask the hard questions.
