I paid for a service call and the service technician came to the home and told us we had a leak in our system due to the age of the system. Never hooked anything up. Told us we needed new coils $3500 but recommended new system up to $19,000. I had another company come out and do a pressure test and found no leaks. We had a service completed (cleaned the coils and did some minor work) cost $1200. My wife and I were amazed how excited the man got when he actually found a way to reduce this amount by $300! I recently installed a Mini- Split. It worked great, but leaked. I called Air Services, and they sent Jeff, who was friendly and outgoing. Jeff told me the refrigerant precharged by the mini split company was contaminated by the leak and needed to be drained and replaced. He said it needed 4 pounds of new R454B refrigerant for $388 per pound, plus the service call (not disclosed). The cost is $1552 for the R454B freon, plus the service charge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told him I was trying to survive on Social Security and could not afford that much. He expressed his regret and, after charging me $69 for the estimate, left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I looked up R454B refrigerant online, and it actually sold for $60 per pound. Isn't that amazing? I called another HVAC, Penrod Heating and Air Conditioning. They came out, repaired the leak, put in 3 pounds of R454B, including the service, and charged me $344.58. They did not need to drain the existing refrigerant. Actually, less than one pound of refrigerant (at Air Services price). They priced the complete package at less than Air Services was charging for one pound, WOW! Now, I did mention to the Air Services Tech. Jeff, the decline of this country is due to Greed and the lack of practicing the basic Christian Ethic (including virtually every other major religion), which is "Love Thy Neighbor, instead of crawling up on your neighbor's bones for personal gain. He smiled and agreed. I do not blame Jeff; he was following orders from his employers. Now every morning, five days a week, Air Services sends out its employees, each contacting several potential customers, shooting them estimates that profoundly decimate their bank accounts, charging astronomical amounts. Is this a criminal activity condoned by our government? It certainly is not pursuing a "Love Thy Neighbor" approach to human interaction. Should there be laws in place that prohibit this type of activity? Yes, I think so, and companies that pursue this policy of scamming need to be avoided at all costs. read more

This story starts with installation of a mini-split. AirServices man drilled a 3.5 inch hole through kitchen wall to outside, but in the wrong place. Their first proposal was to just leave, generously telling me they would release me from the contract and I wouldn't owe any money. I didn't agree to that since it was their mistake, so they drilled another hole, installed the minisplit, without asking me used screws to put a sheet metal patch on the inside wall while leaving outside open, and proposed using a restoration company to fix the mistaken hole, which initially was going to involve removing the entire wall, a huge project and big mess. I decided that rather than replace an entire wall, we could put a light fixture there, which would cover the hole and not be too weird. It took some time to find a wall sconce that would work, as it needed to both cover the screw holes they put in with their "patch" and also have its own switch, as I do not really trust this company to be doing the work to install a switch on a different wall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I finally found one, and sent Dylan the information, asking that he keep me updated on the order. He said he ordered it. I waited 10 days, and then emailed to ask. He cheerfully replied that it had arrived, excusing the lack of communication by telling me he'd written me an email but it hadn't sent[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Uh huh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I took the weekend to cool down (they're supposed to be fixing a mistake that THEY made, but keep treating me like I'm the nuisance) and yesterday morning politely asked Dylan to arrange the repairs and let me know when they would occur (I live nearly 800 miles away and have to plan travel). I gave him dates that would work for next week and the week after, but so far have not had the courtesy of a reply saying he's working on it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Meanwhile, the company sent me an email saying my account is "past due" despite me having offered to pay half while we wait for repairs and being told by AirServices that I should just wait and pay the whole thing when the work is actually completed. When I brought this up, they told me it was "automatic" and a "mistake". I told them that if it affects my credit rating I will take legal action, so we'll see what happens there. It will save them a very large amount of money to not have to pay a restoration company to redo an entire wall to repair the hole they mistakenly drilled. I thought that it was both creative and generous of me to propose the light sconce solution. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But in return, Dylan at AirServices has treated me like none of this matters to them: poor communication, no one paying attention to WHY my account is "past due" and disregard for my requests for information and some lead time with scheduling[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They did offer a discount on the job after I specifically asked, but while that helps some with this in terms of the cost of travel and lost work time, the sheer annoyance at being treated this way keeps them solidly somewhere below the one-star you see above. I contacted Air Services in Springfield, Missouri at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday July 6. I was told that someone would be there between 8 and 5. The call service called me every few hours to let me know someone would be there that day. At 6:30 that evening I was called to let me know that no one was coming and I would be put on a list for the next day. It was over 90° that day and over 85° in my home. I understand that companies are busy this time of the year. If I would have been told I would not be serviced that day I would have understood, but I was led on all day. I contacted another service company at 6:40 P.M. that evening and by 8:00 P.M. my air was fixed and the repairman was leaving! I would not recommend this company for timely service. This company is connected with COSTCO . I was assuming would get a fair price when they quoted new AC unit. I have 2 -4.0 ton units to be replaced Colin was the GUY who came out here great talker promised to get a quote in 2 days . Weeks later received a quote . MAKE SURE YOU get multiple quotes to compare. AIR SERVICES quote was for 2- units to be replaced $80,000 SO each unit was $40,000. The other 2 quotes from very reputable companies in this area were where I was expecting $14,000 per unit WOW I even called them to confirm there pricing and they did. I sent an email out to THE . manager of the AIR SERVICES she has not responded wanted her to know about quote. It was funny when I asked for her email address man on phone said here's our email send it to the general one . Week later still have not heard from them . This is just a quote to advise her to check numbers from the highest level in company . Guess what at the auote stage they don't call you back guess how they will treat you during installation! Yes you will be in BIG trouble .. Please make sure get multiple bids make sure all of the fill out IN DETAIL what they will be installing . I'll reach out to COSTCO make sure they know ! Final note COLIN the guy stated they get reduced pricing because the install so many and I would get. Gift card from Costco! WELL I guess you can when you bid double the price . The problem is they charge considerably more than their competitors. When they found a problem with our current HVAC system they recommended a replacement for $32,744. After their generous discounts the price came down to $23,811. When we contacted a different company for a quote on a similar system the quote was $15,530. That is an $8,281 difference or about 65% more than the $15,530 Quote. Similarly they charged me $200 a pound for refrigerant that they probably paid about $20 a pound. While we thoroughly enjoyed working with them when we assumed they were reasonable we now want to warn others to spend their money more wisely than we did! read more

We have had a furnace/ ac unit put in as well as a hot water heater. They have continued maintanance on our units and are always efficient and kind. We have never had a bad experience. This current check, we had Weston Cloyd for our check on our ac/furnace. He was finished within about 10 minutes. Very nice guy He explained what he was going to be doing and was done. Weston Cloyd came to do our inspection for our plumbing that we thought was just for the water heater, but he checked all our plumbing and informed us of any concerns. We really appreciate air services and their staff for keeping our home up to date. read more

I Bought yearly maintenance agreement for checking a/c, a plumbing check and furnace check The a/c check I was told needed new furnace and ac unit which I was skeptical since my unit around 5 years old. I called another company and he told me the wires on capacitor had been disconnected. so everything was ok as I thought The plumbing check I was told I needed a water softener $2,000. not necessary. so weather got warm again I turned ac on and didn't work. I went outside and someone had disconnected the ac on outside. it is located by crawl space. too much of coincidence I think the tech disconnected it. don't use these people they spend so much on advertisements and the send out apprentices and no master plumber with them. they are taking advantage of people. Quality of service is hit and miss. My last service with them was for a furnace check up. They walked in and wanted to look at my smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. I told them they were interconnected with my security system and for them not to touch it. They did anyway and set up my alarm. I then received a call from my security company which I had to explain what the idiots did without my permission. When checking in on the progress for the work they were actually here to do, I was told one person left to get a part and was told that they replaced my filter. I use electrostatic filters and system. These filters do not need to be replaced at every visit primarily because I live alone and I have no pets. This tech replaced the filter without checking with me (other techs do this). These filters are not cheap. While checking my ductwork under the house, I showed them an easy entrance from within the house. The tech then had the nerve to inform me of the structural concerns with the opening. I had a professional put this in, there are no issues with it and building codes are not his expertise nor in his field of work. I have been a member for many years but now considering ending this and going to a different company. read more

Am a VIP member $189/yr w Air Services. The drain in my house on Fremont was backed up, nothing would flush or drain in the 1100' house. Air Services came out for the call charge of $73, said they could not clear the drain. Gave me an estimate for $11,000.00 to dig up back yard to replace old line to main. And when I asked for the line to be jetted from the access after the garage to the main, Jacob Marsh quoted $300 on the phone, then got an estimate for $1370.00 to jet and clean the line! Meanwhile priced this jetting w other companies at $300. United Plumbing came out w/i 24 hrs and cleared the line in 30 minutes for $300. City inspectors coordinated w United and ran a camera & verified no ground water in the line, no collapsed clay bells (old pipe), minor offsets in bells, no roots only baby wipes, grease and toilet paper for 3'. Imagine if I had shelled out $12,000 to Air Services for work that was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Air Services r not REPUTABLE, and obviously NOT TO BE TRUSTED. United Plumbing on the other hand are highly reputable and to be completely trusted. Call City of Springfield inspectors at no charge BEFORE hiring a plumber. read more

Had the Air Services team come take a look at a large commercial electrical job for an estimate, also had their HVAC people out to look at another portion of the job for an estimate. After sending plans, walking them around, neither responded in a reasonable amount of time. I called the company and got the typical run around, so and so is not in the office he will call you back. Yeah well Im not waiting any longer, I figured it out. They are not going to give an estimate. Common courtesy would be to at least decline and not lead you on. I had an electrician come do a walk to see what I needed for my little fixer upper. My service techs name was Joel. He was polite, very informative and walked me thru what I would need in order of importance. He could have tried to over sell but let me know my panel needed to just be tightened up not replaced and I should really think about adding a whole house surge protector. I had some flickering in kitchen He said was a lose wire and he just gave it a tighten for me. The secretary had the nerve to say that it's because he's busy fixing a customer's furnace that went out and they don't have heat. Duh!!!! Overpriced and very poor communication. We needed our air ducts cleaned ASAP, so we scheduled an appointment time to get a quote. Upon their arrival, only then did they explain that they're booked out until October or November for air duct cleaning. It's June. This is the second time in 2 months that Air Services has been a huge disappointment. Fool me once.... I will never call Air Services again. Such a huge waste of time. I gave this company one star simply because it is not possible to give zero. This company uses scams and strong-arm tactics to intimidate people into buying furnaces and A/C units they don't need. They went so far as to turn off my gas during a routine "inspection" when the temperature was 18 degrees out. They said I had a dangerous problem with my furnace and that they were "required" to turn it off. Then a "manager" tried to call me to talk about my "options" regarding buying a new unit. A little research showed that the danger (carbon monoxide poisoning) was not even legitimate, and that this is just a ploy used by the company to scare people into buying new units. I would NOT recommend using this company. Much better to find a company that is going to be honest and trustworthy. read more

The 'salesman' had just quoted me $1800 for the installation of a new lift pump in my basement and was busy writing up the paperwork at my kitchen table. I pulled out my smartphone and looked up the price of the pump online and saw that they ran between $200-$400 depending on the brand. Thinking $1400 was a tad high for labor I stepped into another room and called another local plumber who promised to come the very next day and install one for a total of $600. A TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLAR MARKUP. The salesman knew exactly why i told him to forget it when i walked back in the dining room. They would have had zero reservations about screwing me out of that much money. Just got a xmas card in the mail from them, I have no idea why they waste the stamp. I did an annual contract with this company and to be honest they scammed me. The furnace guys came out and cleaned everything and they were awesome - no problems there but the plumbing crew came out to do preventive maintenance on my hot water tanks and it was a nightmare. First of all, I have 2 tanks and did not have ANYTHING wrong with them. NOTHING WRONG AT ALL. I was doing the annual maintenance agreement with them for 1 year. Once they left, I had a leak on one of my hot water tanks. They say when they drain a tank it could start leaking but once they completed the draining they confirmed - no leak. The next day I had a leak on one of the tanks but it was not coming from the part they said could possibly leak. It was coming from another place on the tank. This went on for couple of weeks. I called them and they sent another guy from their company to my home to check it. With that said, this guy popped this little door off at the bottom of the tank and shined a light into it and shut it back (2 minutes). Told me I needed a new tank. Of course, I disagreed and told him it was something their guys did on the prior trip of when they drained the tank. Keep in mind, the water was leaking and I was going through towel after towel to keep water from going everywhere. He told me I would have to wait until Monday and have someone sell me a tank and I said - so what am I suppose to do until then - stay up all night to keep the water from going everywhere using towel and after to stop water flow? He said yes. This was Saturday, early evening. So with that said, I was extremely mad and Sunday morning I called their office again and the lady who answered the phone confirmed I had to wait until Monday. I then, picked up the phone and called Plumb Rite Company which is an excellent company. Anthony the plumber at Plumb Rite ask me if the guy from All Services bothered to show me how to cut the water off to the tank and I said he did not. In fact, the All Service Plumber did absolutely nothing and he did not even check to see where the leak was coming from. Anthony from Plumb Rite told me how to cut water to that tank off so it would not leak - in 2 minutes I had the water shut off to tank. I hired Plumb Rite to come out Monday morning to install a tank. It gets better folks, The leak was caused by All Services - their guys they sent to drain my tanks. They left 3 different things in the tank that they did not tighten back up and to make it worse when the next guy came to see he confirmed everything was fine so he did not tighten up the stuff that his company left loose. HE NEVER LOOKED HE JUST CONFIRMED TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. So I spent about 1,100.00 for nothing. So if you like these kind of companies that LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL FROM YOU CALL ALL SERVICE - THEY ARE PROS AT IT. I am considering calling the attorney generals office at State of Missouri to report this as a scam done by a company that is suppose to be reputable and the Better Business Bureau. How dare these people think that they can get by with this and act as we, their customers, that keep them in their jobs, are so stupid. Shame on them!!! read more

What an Amazing Experience. What could of been traumatic turned into one of the Best customer service experiences we have ever had. Our hot water heater went out over the Christmas holiday weekend and we were in desperate need of help. Having 3 kids, one of which is special needs, our family could not be without hot water for an extended period of time. Thank God that we have a membership plan with Air Services. Within 30 minutes of us calling Rachel, Rich, Kristy, and the Team, had a technician at our house working on the issue. And, within 14 hours, we had a brand new hot water heater installed. Will, our technician, went above and beyond! He installed the new water heater unit along with additional shut off valves, an extra safety device called an expansion tank, all new copper pipes, and even helped set the temperature on our bathrooms safety faucet dispenser. Instead of charging an additional cost for coming out on the holiday weekend, they actually gave us a discount for being on the membership plan. And, we have an 8 year warranty on the unit. Want to waste your money...call them! Something was wrong with my a/c unit, it ran continuously but the house was not getting cool. Woman on the phone tells my that for $129 someone will be right out. It's 96 degrees and heating up inside so, ok. The guy shows up and says the unit needs maintenance and cleaning before he can be sure what's wrong. I ask what that will cost and he jumps right into "the service PLAN" sales pitch. For forty minutes, he goes on and on about the PLAN. I tell him repeatedly NO, just fix the unit, but every time I do, he circles back to the PLAN and all of the money I will save. He wanted $129 + $240 to fix it today or over $600 in monthly fees as part of the PLAN that would "save me money" over the next few years. When I again said no to the PLAN, and told him to just get the thing fixed, he told me he did not have time today. But, if I signed up for the PLAN, he would get started right away, get the house cool and return tomorrow to really look things over (adding another $73 fee to that visit). I asked how much it cost for him to get the hell off my property. DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF WITH THIS COMPANY! read more

I don't normally write reviews. Actually, this is my first one. But this company is bad enough to make me want to review it anywhere I can. I get the impression they are scammers, or at least have scammers working for them. I had a small drip out of a drain line under my kitchen. I didn't want to mess with it so I called Air Services. To keep it short, they quoted $1,680 to replace about 10-20 feet of drain line. They kept finding other problems, some of which were somewhat legitimate, but the solution was just to replace a small section of drain line. But they tried to describe it as a "rebuild", making it sound like it was a big job. I was expecting about $250-$300 maximum as the parts would be less than $100 and the labor would take maybe an hour or so. I have no idea how they could come up with that price, other than they were just out to rip me off. I did a patch job and fixed it in 10 minutes with stuff I had on hand. Do not use these people unless you know something about HVAC or plumbing already and can verify what they are saying. I suggest staying away and using someone else. read more
