I was told that I had a pipe burst under my house. We called roto rooter they came out and dug to bottom of basement cut a hole in the floor and put a new pipe in out to the septic tank In the process they were digging under the concrete slab that my poop filters at on I have wrot iron fencing around my pool with brick columns so they say that they are done I go outside to look when I get home and they had taken one brick column and an 8 foot section of the concrete slab the bricks and all. Concrete were gone the fence was down all the while them not saying anything but that they had to cut some of the pipe for the pool. So after all of this after about a week the water backs up in the house again. ( first time before they " fixed it" the septic tank was full and needed pumped out. Now the thing backs up about once a week the pipe they put under the house they got too deep and it runs up hill to the tank I had them come out and they said it was my lateral lines. That I didn't have any. So I dug in some new ones hitting all the old ones that weren't there I told them that the tank would over fill if it were on the lateral lines As of now I have to go out every day or two and run a pipe down the clean out or the pipe ( they put in ) had a plug that I nock into the septic tank. They in short made a full tank that only needed pumped cost me $27,xxx.ccx. I had them out several time there answer to me was i needed to put in a new system but the system was working for 20 plus years just had a full tank and after they worked on it and took my money. This is my second bad experience with Roto-Rooter. The second time I called Roto-Rooter to see if they would replace a Spicket on my back patio deck. A technician came out and after looking at it briefly said it would be $440 to be repaired. I asked what I was paying for the tech said it'll be $440. I said I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying I'd like to know what am I paying for as far as labor and the part for the replacement faucet. he said I'm not sure it's just $440. I said that sounds kind of expensive. Could you break it down for me? He said no I really can't break it down. I'm not sure I'd have to ask someone else. so I had to argue with him for about 15 minutes. finally I said, look I don't want to do business with you if you can't tell me what I'm paying for. so the tech finally went out to his truck called someone. Hen came back and said it's about 100 some dollars for the faucet and the rest is for the labor for the repair. so I found out that I would be paying a two hour minimum even if it took him a hour to repair. I'd be paying a two hour minimum labor at $150 an hour plus the price of the faucet. This is the exact experience I had with Roto-Rooter before. they hide their pricing. They want to charge you a high minimum labor rate per hour and not be honest with you upfront about what you're paying for. Don't use Roto-Rooter. They're not a reputable company. read more

I would recommend this company a million times over. My sewer clean-out was clogged, had sewage backing up into my bathtub when I washed a load of laundry. I called Roto-Rooter in Springfield Mo. Chad showed you a short time later. He was very professional listened when I told him what was going on. He located a very unique cause of the clog. He was able to get the debris pulled out of the clean-out and unclog the drain. I can't thank Lucas, Chad and the rest of staff enough. read more

My appointment was from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on October17th. I wanted them to replace two outside faucets and flush a hot water heater. They showed up then had to leave because they didn't have the proper tools for cooper piping. Said, "they had to get to the store before they closed at 5:00 pm." They came back changed the faucet in the back yard that wasn't leaking, but I wanted it replaced along with the on on the side of the house. They flushed the hot water heater. Charged me $500.00. The whole bill was going to be like $875.00 Said, "the other leak they would have to go through the floor or the wall." I told them, "to go through the wall." It was late we had to get up early so we rescheduled the wall deal and the other outside faucet for Tuesday October 18th. same time. They showed up at 6:00 pm. I said, "Do you care if we we reschedule due to the time? They said, "No." So they were to come back on Thursday the 20th same time 3:00 to 5:00. They were a no call, no show. Then they called the 20th wanting to finish up the work this was a Friday. I fired them, told them I hired a competitor of theirs. Then Sunday the 23rd of October I noticed the back faucets foundation was wet. So when I had Connelly's Plumbing come out and check it out they said it was spraying water from a pin hole. They wanted to know when it had been replaced and by who. I told him almost 2 weeks ago and by Roto-Rooter. He said, "I would call them and ask for some of my money back." He then asked if I want him to replace it or call them back out. I told him, "to replace it and that I wouldn't trust Roto-Rooter to install a automatic dog water and that is the kind you fill up and flip over." He laughed. Our grandson had flushed his child size toothbrush down the commode. Chad and Colby came out, performed a "paper test" and voila', the toothbrush emerged!! When they went to look at a leaky commode, they identified calcium buildup around the seal, cleaned it, tested our water and determined the setting on our water softener was incorrect. This company is a perfect example of why you have to do your due diligence. I had them out to change out an exterior faucet that cracked because of cold temperatures over the winter. A 125 to 250 dollar repair turned into a 421 dollar repair. But worst was the estimate I asked for from them to replace an grinder pump from my basement. The estimate started at $2900 dollars that changed to $2300 after a part run to get materials for the first fix. Oh and he wanted to also move pipe that had been in place for 26 years and did not have an issue ever. I already had two other bids of $900 and $850 for the repair from two other plumbers. I ended up buying the same grinder pump that was a duplicate to the original one that lasted 26 years from Amazon for less than $300 and installing it myself. A nasty job for sure but only about an hour of work . I'm very disappointed in the plumber David who came out. Not in the quality of work ( that's why three stars) but in the bidding practices of the business. I'm a disabled veteran on a fixed income. I will not be using them again. read more
