Unprofessional, unreliable and unethical. They didn't install my HVAC properly and are not interested in correcting it. They drilled a hole in my roof and stuck a ducting cable tie through it to remember the location but didn't bother telling me. I found out when the ceiling caved in during the next storm. I did get a "sorry" but they still wont help me correct the HVAC installation. So I called Be Right There and they are showing up tomorrow to help me. read more

Called when my AC stopped working in August. Luckily it happened just after we had a lot of family and friends staying with us! It was a 20+ yr old unit and not working real well at this point. Arne came out quickly and determined the compressor was not turning and might be stuck. He tried to get working using a booster but that only made it work for a few seconds, then it stopped again. He recommended a new unit, which after some research seemed best option. He quoted me a very competitive price for a new 5-Ton Trane unit. His technician installed it a couple days later and it works really well. Air volume moving from ducts is much higher and unit is very quiet in operation- can't even hear it in the house. We needed a pan replaced under our AC, they came in and replaced the entire unit, even though it was working fine. Then they caused an electric fire in our apartment (we have a newborn), and we had to get our kid to a doctor for smoke inhalation. After all this, the new unit they put in is faulty and it's the middle of summer. This was early last week. They told us someone would be out today (Monday) to replace the part, but no one has shown up. We've called a few times to ask about an ETA for repair, and the best they'll tell us is "we'll check our schedule". UPDATE: They called me this morning to explain the situation, that they are really busy, and they work 12-14 hour days. This is not our problem. This was something that should have been fixed the first time. They came by today to complete the job, set up, then took off while my wife was putting our baby down for a nap. I bought a brand new house with a Daikin Room Air Conditioner. The air conditioner leaked. On October 7, 2016, I called Anna to have someone come out and look at it. She promised I would get a call to set up a time for a visit. That didn't happen, so I called again. She apologized indicated they were very busy. Several calls and no action. My warranty is about to expire, so I called again mid July 2017 and Anna again promised someone would get back to me. I am still waiting. read more

You start your experience by contacting your contractor letting them know your unit needs repair. They send Air Rite a service email. Two weeks pass, you decide to follow-up and ask the status. The contractor decides to email Air Rite for a follow-up asking to make an appointment immediately. Ana in the office with Air Rite calls to schedule an appointment for a Friday first thing. She informs you that "we will call you back to confirm your appointment." Friday morning comes and after no follow-up and 30 minutes of waiting, you decide to call Ana back. The answering service calls and informs you that they are not in and will call you back. You wait another 15 minutes of your work day and finally the call comes. Ana informs you the serviceman "must have missed the schedule note. I guess I will have to highlight it for him in the future." You are told they will have to schedule a new time. You ask for a weekend as you have already wasted a good hour waiting when you should be at work. Ana informs you she will need to check with the owner, as those service calls are for important matters that require paying servicemen time and a half. Your being blown off is not important enough to warrant a weekend call. So you wait for Ana to call you back after speaking with the manager. 5 days pass, you eventually decide to go back to your contractor and ask if Air Rite will be ever calling you back? He calls them.. and again Ana calls you to schedule an appointment today! You ask why it took 5 days to get approval? To which Ana calls you "Rude." You ask for the 5 pm appointment as it's a work day, she says she would need to get approval from the owner as it's after hours. You insist on a weekend of after work appointment as you do not want any more of your work day or time wasted. And there you wait.. wait for Ana to call you back hoping it's not another 5 days... This is my experience with this joke of a company. Save yourself the trouble, you can accomplish the same headache and service by bashing your head into the HVAC unit. read more

A few months ago Air Rite did a routine system check and said everything was OK. The next time we used the AC we got only warm air - they came back out and said there was no freon due to a leak in the coil, and we would need a new system. I initially said OK, and they put freon in the system to hopefully last until the new system went in. But later I decided to use another company, as the situation seemed questionable. The original AC performed perfectly until the new AC went in. After the new AC was installed, a pressure test was performed on the old system - no sign of a leak! I wrote to Air Rite asking for an explanation, and received a call from the owner. He said he would speak with the technician and get back to me - I haven't heard from them in over a month. By the way, Air Rite charged me $166 for the freon. read more

We contacted Air Rite for equipment repair in our business a few months back, we sit today with a unit that is still not repaired. At this point, we have contacted another company to fix any and all issues either missed or created by Air Rite. Not only was the work not completed, the customer service is seriously lacking both in office staff and technicians. Every time I called the office, I was unable to get an actual staff member on the phone, it was always the answering service. Most times I would receive no call back, or if I did it would be days later. We called every day over the course of 2 weeks without a call back or any contact made. Technicians were brash and short with my staff, myself included. They left us in the dark about what was going on, the status of our repairs and even went as far as to order parts and authorize repairs without our approval. Months went by with this same back and forth game with Air Rite, it finally got to the point where we weren't willing to work with them anymore because our results were minimal at best. My overall impression of this company is that they are unprofessional and hard to work with. Do not expect courtesy of any kind on any level from them. My recommendation to anyone looking for an HVAC company would be to not use Air Rite in any capacity. read more

Let me tell you why this company should have "10" stars. First you need to know we had attempted to get our forced air heating fixed by another company from Templeton (posted a review on their sight). After waiting several days for the other company to return after their initial visit (said they needed to order a part). After many cold days without even a call back we called "Air Rite" in Atascadero. We spoke with Rick (the owner of the company) and explained our dilemma and frustration with our attempt to get it fixed. He understood and said a technician would be to our home by 2pm. At 1:30pm Mike called and was there minutes later. He was able to remove the faulty part and headed back to the shop to get a replacement. He came back and let us know that the part was different than what they had in stock and would order one ASAP. We figured we had another couple of cold days to weather. Then later that afternoon Rick called and said he had driven to Templeton to obtain the part and that Mike was on his way to install it. Mike showed up and finished the job. He also discovered a gas leak at the heating unit and that could have been a hazard. These guys were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and actually care about their customers. I wish dateline NBC would follow every appliance repairman to see how they operate. I had this company out three days in a row because they didn't correctly fix the problem and added to the original problem. The repairman used a hammer to defrost the ice pack only to have a hole appear there and let all the freon leak out. It had freon before the hammering. Overnight the fridge quit and I lost all my food. It took three visits to get it right. Would never use again. read more

Of the many attempts to reach someone at this business, I get an answering service that relays a message to "one of their technicians" I have received one call back on my voicemail from Rick and called him back within 1 min; reached his answering service and again had to leave at least two additional messages to have him call me back: 2 days later. Finally he called, I answered and he proposed coming out to my house the following week on a Wed. I told him I'd confirm with my tenant and call back w/ best time. It has been months, summer months over 100 degrees, in a building with no AC. It was 103 degrees today and we had to have multiple people go home due to it being too hot inside.
