He fixed the gas leak issue quickly, gave me good advice with respect to the next steps and charged me $226. I contacted Sam to help resolve issues with my A/C in my condo unit a few months ago. There are…read moresome characteristics I really liked about Sam. He is very professional, answered my calls and got back to me promptly. He also worked around my schedule to arrange an appointment that was convenient for me. He was upfront about the cost and process, and took his time with his investigation. It did not feel like a rushed visit. In terms of his professionalism, I would give him 5 stars. Unfortunately I was not satisfied with his work. He was able to successfully rule out the actuator valve as the issue, but was incorrect with his diagnosis. He believed it to be the temperature of the water supply to the building, which turned out to be incorrect. I ended up having to go through my building's contractor, who traced the issue back to the control panel. Again, Sam was extremely professional but ultimately was unable to resolve the issue for me - which is why I would not go with him again.

We were very fortunate for Eco Star's service, as we also called another HVAC company and didn't hear from them. Since it was a last minute service request and it was during the holidays, their rate is $195+tax - compared to their normal rate of $95+tax for the initial inspection. Eco Star's technician was able to fix the furnace and we're now literally warm and comfortable for Christmas day. Thank you Eco Star! I'd recommend Eco Star to anyone.

I was provided a quote on an AC unit that they recommended and the price was very competitive and based on the other positive reviews I decided to move ahead with the install. All throughout the process, the owner Eugene was very helpful and thorough in answering any questions that I had. The technicians that came over were also very helpful and answered any questions that I had. The AC unit was just installed today so I haven't had the opportunity to use it much, but based on the experience so far, I trust that I will be in good hands if there are any issues down the road. He contacted about the A/C job asking if I would like a heat pump instead trying to up sell right from the start. I told him the 75 gallon water heater had to be done first. He asked if he can quote. He wouldn't register or do a site visit to see what either job entailed and kept messaging over and over. He kept going over the details so he was trying to estimate and I repeatedly gave him the same info. He asked why the venting supplied by Rheem with the tank was not white PVC and didn't understand. I had to explain to him the venting requirements had changed about 7 years ago on 75 gallon tanks due to higher temperatures. I had to tell him repeatedly I had all the materials to install. I gave him photos of everything to see it was straight forward. Job with less than 8 feet of venting that I was supplying. He said he would complete the job and bill me later and include any incurred expenses . I told him I do not proceed with any job without a contract with upfront firm pricing and any terms.. Then he asked again if they were providing the materials. He had the photo showing all the materials I had and again I told him I had all the materials. He then asked about me to a heat pump and I said if I wanted a heat pump it would have been stated in the job details I told them that them we had a high efficiency 2 stage furnace and my heating costs were under $900.00 per season keeping the thermostat at a constant 75 F. Our house is 3300 sq. ft. and Enbridge shows our house more efficient than 96% of the houses in our area which includes many of them with heat pumps. That was the end of dealing with them for both the water heater and the A/C when I requested a particular York Affinity model and he quoted on a different model. The most frustrating experience I have ever had just for an estimate.

We started looking at various companies before the peak time hit and received quotes from three places. Artisan came in with an extremely competitive price and I'm not going to lie, it made me a little nervous. I had read the reviews for Artisan on Yelp so I reached out to a couple of my fellow Yelpers to ask them about their satisfaction with the company. I knew they wouldn't fail me and of course, they didn't. We chose to go with Artisan and we were able to get scheduled surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the day came and rain was in the forecast. When the two gentlemen showed up, they said they would only be able to do the indoor part of the work and would schedule to come back in the next day or two to finish. Thankfully, the weather held so they forged ahead and were able to get everything done. (Just in the nick of time too because the heavens opened up only minutes after they left!) The next few days were cool so we weren't able to test it out but then the heatwave hit and we were as cool as cucumbers! The gentlemen who came were extremely pleasant and they worked fast and efficiently. I'm very happy with the service we received from Artisan and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. #ServiceStarShoutOut
