Their prices are egregious, and they have shadow monthly programs that their contractors sign you up for without notice. Our AC drain line detached, and the drain pan flooded. The total would eventually come out to $683.74 I specifically asked our contact not to sign us up for any memberships or subscriptions, with a "please." But he ignored my request and signed me up for a program I did not want to sign up for. I noticed the charge and questioned further. I asked things like, "So is this a one-time purchase?" "Can I cancel at any time?" To his chagrin, he said, "Yes, you'll actually be paying less." He wasn't necessarily wrong or right, typical business strategy. This program charges you an initial $18 upfront to "hide" the upfront cost they show (which, if I remember, was about $500+ or so; crazy, but I guess understandable due to the market). It gives you the 20% discount on the service. The program then continues to charge you that $18 for the next YEAR, for "benefits" and discounts. AND if you cancel the annual subscription, you get charged for the rest of the year you didn't pay for. In other words, you will have to pay at least an additional $196 for a membership signup regardless. I specifically asked not to have this. Although I can recommend Dustin Lyday, the contractor, for his service, and yes, he fixed my AC. I am more concerned with the business practice itself. Don't sign people up for an ANNUAL subscription that charges monthly, but makes you charge the full amount if you cancel. That defeats the purpose; the season for AC units is only when it's HOT in Oklahoma. Why would I want an annual subscription? --Better yet, the only way you can cancel is by calling them because you don't have any agency over your account! They create it and control it for you, NO LOGIN REQUIRED. That's f'd up and a bad way to create retention. --Predatory! Alarmists! Sky high prices! The guys that came out to work on my plumbing were very nice. They scoped my pipes and told me that they were about to collapse and had roots in them causing drainage problems. They recommended relining the pipes throughout the house ($37k). I was about to approve the job and got suspicious. Called a small local plumber out. They showed me every inch of my pipes on camera and said they were in solid condition. Fixed the drainage problem for $400. I will tell everyone I know about this experience so that they don't deal with this predatory company. --Terrible - they messed up,cut way too many holes in our walls . they said they fixed it but left an open pipe that squirted water when we turned on the fawcet. My bad for hiring an AC company to install pocket lights in our kitchen. Not only did it take the entire day to install, but the LED lights keep going out and they have to come back to replace them. A couple of months ago, our house had a strong electrical smell in the steps going upstairs and the Fire Dept and I could not determine where it was coming from and I decided to call Air Comfort Solutions. I have used this company for a number of years to various degrees of satisfaction. the main problem being there high prices. They did come out quickly, I will credit them that, but that is it. They sent an electrician, and he looked over the upstairs and circuit breaker panel. I told him I was suspicious that this was from the air handler blower motor. He wouldn't confirm that but he thought it originated from there as well and promptly told me I had 3 options, (sound familiar). All over 9,000 dollars and he preceded to tell me the City of Edmond required this to go along with a whole new circuit breaker panel (no breakers tripped mind you) the city of Edmond required a quick disconnect box on the outside of the house, surge protector for the main. This added almost 2,900 dollars. I seriously question whether I needed a new circuit breaker panel, there was no breakers tripped and just a slight discoloring by two breakers, and none of this addressed the main problem which was the air handler and the burnt smell. The charge just to check the electrical system (of which not all of the house was checked) was 440, I selected the middle option which came to 9720, and finally the blower motor was 1875, so a grand total of 12,035. When the city inspector came out, he told me the city did not require the main surge protector nor the quick disconnect. It did not pass inspection either and they had to come out a second time. This different employee told me the same story that the city required the extra features. The inspector showed up at the same time and he told the employee the city doesn't require these extra items and they are currently operating under the 2017 rules. I called to complain and didn't even get an apology nor any credit offer but they would try to get the employees on the same page. I have had it with this company. The spin the wheel type of pricing and out right deceptions (that is putting it nicely) is wrong. It seems like pricing and add on's are meant to pad the profit margin. How about let's just charge for what's broke and not add thousands of extra dollars to the bill. To top this off they came out to service the A.C. units a week later outside and wanted to add a few more thousand to upgrade the one unit of which is working just fine. I recommend you consider all other options before using ACS. We had a water line rupture during the early morning hours a few weeks ago. I opted for this service as they were willing to visit the day of the event. After a contractor reviewed the need, one price was quoted. There was another contractor that came to the residence the next day. The work was done rather quickly. That price differed substantially from the quoted price. In the end, I paid over $700 more than any other contractor. I have repeatedly contacted the company seeking explanation on the pricing and related administrative matters. DO NOT USE!!! When your AC is not working properly and you call for a service and they diagnose the problem and tell you that you need it replaced as it is not worth fixing. The gentleman who came to repair stated that someone will come and give me an estimate for a new air condition. Scooter (salesman) prompt and willing to get it installed the very next day and the cost for a 3 ton air conditioner was unbelievable. Three options Cheapest was $13597.00,next was $17997.00 and third 24993.00. with 9.9 % financing. I did ask it seems very high. When you do not have air and it is over 100 degrees and as a person who does not know much air conditioners you feel like yo have no choice. Let me tell you what a RIPOFF. Using a video and photos the mechanic explained what the issue was and set up a temporary solution to restore our heat until the part came in. Kept us informed when they would be out. Was looking through the Ads for a Plumber to do some drain cleaning. The guy came out and snaked the house. then went to the trap and the issue wasn't in the house at all but a block in the main. Well here is a first. Let me explain; So I'm staying with my daughter and son in law helping with my 3 week old 9th grand child. Our temps are in the 90's soon to be 100's and the AC stops working. They decide to get a window unit as they wait to get word on if and when Air Comfort Solutions can service them. When Kaitlin first called they could get someone out there that day but her landlord had to call and set it up. So as of yesterday there hadn't been any return phone calls from ACS so Kaitlin called them back this am. This is what she got told. Because they are renting "they are not servicing rental properties due to the volume of calls and customers." Now mind you this is the largest AC company in Oklahoma they are on call 24 hours a day and this is what was communicated. First and foremost why would anyone who rents their home have any lesser need then a homeowner? That is so absurd and poor poor customer service!! A customer is a customer. I knew I needed to have my sewer line routed and cleared of roots after having a camera run down the line. ACS was recommended so I made an appt for them to route the line. When their guy showed up, he immediately tried to scare me into installing a new line -- for $18,000. When I rejected that idea, he told me it was going to cost abt $1,800 for him to clear it out. I had my ESA Spring AC tune-up this afternoon, Wednesday, May 24. I asked the service technician, Codie Philpott if he cleaned the coils (hosed down) the outside unit. He told me he had. I can hear when didn't the outside water is turned on and running. I asked him a second time and explain that I can hear when the outside faucet is turned on and running. Once again he assured me that he had "used his own hose" to clean the unit and that it was clean. After he left I checked and it was obvious that no water had been used to clean the unit. Additionally, the outside faucet still had the winterizing covering on it! Codie was not truthful with me! I do not like being lied to! I guess he thought I wouldn't or couldn't check since I'm on home oxygen. Also, he said he needed to check the condenser coils in the attic, but now I question whether he actually checked anything since he was here only a short time. He did change the air filters inside. I gave him a five star review before I check his work and now wish I had checked before leaving a review. I will note that Codie was professional and had a very pleasant demeanor. I have been an ACS customer since 2009. I expected better service than this and I certainly do not appreciate your service technician outright lying to me. If you are looking for fast, dependable service, Air Comfort Solutions probably should NOT be your first call. Initial contact was prompt and courteous. Great communication to get a service tech out immediately. Tech inspected the unit, diagnosed the problem and had to call the shop for an inducer motor. He promptly collected payment and that's where things went south. The part that was supposed to be ordered that day wasn't ordered until 3 days later when I called and requested a service update and they discovered they failed to order the part. I have not been contacted by ACS one time since the initial visit and have had to make multiple calls to determine the status of my repair. The lack of a sense of urgency on their part to take care of their customers is beyond my understanding. Maybe they should spend more on getting enough help to service their customers and less on those television ads (which worked on me unfortunately) We now are 5 days into this debacle and still no parts, no status update calls from the company, and no idea when it might be resolved. Meanwhile my children and are bundled up working to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting while one after the next freezes solid and soon we will have no running water. They left me high and dry after the install. I am selling the house they installed a new system on last year, and in the inspection they found a rusted out, leaking plenum under the slab. Air Comfort did not make mention of this at any point. I ask them to put it over head in the attic but I was assured by Scooter (the salesman) that putting it upright like the old system was the best way to do it. Once I ask them for help, they said that they would throw in a free coil, which they would just be exchanging the coils and reusing the one they pulled off my system I'm sure, but it would cost another $7,000 to move it overhead. (Which I ask for in the first place.) They did get one star because they were at least able to get out there and fix out system the next day. My wife was pregnant so that was a big help. I wouldn't have used them because they were way over priced, but with supply chain issues and needing it done immediately I had no other choice then go with them. We called for a sink clog in our kitchen. Before they did anything they asked what year our house was built. After a service tech used a pipe cleaner he said he hit a clog and someone would stop buy with a camera. They said our pipe was corroded beyond repair and would have to tear up foundation and floors to the tune of $5700 to $18,000. We called another company who cleaned the clog of grease and hair in 15 minutes for $200 and no sign of corrosion at all. Had our regular semi-annual tune up today and Devin, our tech, said he smelled a faint gas odor in the furnace. He immediately notified his supervisor, Andrew, who came to our house within 45 minutes and diagnosed the problem as a leaking valve. He went back to Moore to get the needed part and had the whole thing fixed within another hour. Both Devin and Andrew were very professional and helpful to us old guys who really need our heat. We are on their ESA program, so there was no charge at all for the repair. In my experience, these guys do what they say they will do, and do it right. I had been an ACS customer for several years. I even left this review for them back in 2021: "Rick, the service technician, was: 1. Early 2. Fast 3. Knowledgeable 4. Friendly 5. Thorough." Now, in July 2022, my experience is completely different. ACS used to be a locally owned company. Now, they are owned by a company out of Louisiana, and their service standards have slipped. I had 2 techs out that completely blew it on diagnosing a condenser fan motor. Then they handed me a quote for system replacement that was over $4000 more than the next closest quote that I got from other contractors. They wanted $13000 to replace a 4 ton unit. How may people trust them and just pay those prices? Probably too many. By the way, to repair the unit to operation, all that was needed was a $150 motor. Anyway, after a discussion with the manager about the non-repair, they promised to refund all but the trip charge on my invoice, but that never happened. My advice? Call someone else. read more

I don't leave reviews typically, but I feel I need to warn people about this company. This should be zero stars, but I'm required to give one. Our AC went out during June and we called Air Comfort Solutions and purchased a year long membership. The receptionist was helpful and made our appointment for Monday (it was Saturday). The first person came out, charged us $71 and said he fixed it. It cooled down for an evening and then got hot again the next day. Fine, problem was missed. We called a 2nd time, they came out the next day and told us our motor needed replaced. That was about $900, but I hoped it would be fixed. It wasn't. Got hot again in two days. They came out a third time. House was getting to the mid 80s during the day. They put refrigerant in the system and left. And it stayed cool-ish for 3 days. That cost me about $300. Then, 80s again. We finally hired another company to come out and they determined that there was a leak. They spent two hours finding it and are coming today to fix it. They told us that this was likely the issue all along and our motor didn't need replaced and the refrigerant that we paid for was just going to leak out. So if you doing the math here, we spent almost $2k with Air Comfort Solutions and we still don't have a working air conditioner. We spent $200 to fix the actual problem. read more

We called Air Comfort Solutions, because our AC was acting up. Immediately upon visiting the technician told us our system was a bad product and needed to be replaced. We've had the system for 5 years and THEY installed it. But he claims they would have never installed this unit. He charged us $480 for refrigerant and the service call and had his manager come by the next day to quote us either $4k for a new coil(which was leaking) or 11.5k for a whole new system. We decided to get a second opinion and thank god we did. The other technician told us that our system was still under warranty (which Air Comfort Solutions neglected to tell us) and that replacing the coil would only cost us $1k. If I could give a zero I would, but I warn all against using this company. They only want to upgrade you not help you. They are sales people first, technicians last. read more

Well we had a hot water tank go out on us on Saturday. We call ACS and they said they could have a guy out on Sunday from 12-5 pm. We scheduled it and they showed up at 12. Great guys and they said the tank wasn't fixable. They gave us a estimate. The estimate was $3841!!!!! I was taken back on how expensive it was. We called a relative and her plumber would charge us $1900 and haul off the old one. Yes he is a licensed plumber. We had issues with ACS when we signed up for the service to two houses and they said they weee good and didn't need anything. A month later a part went out and it cost us over $150 and it needed AC Freon ? I called them and they gave me the two dollar talk around pitch. We called ACS to repair a leaking bathtub faucet and also install a new garage disposal unit (replacing an old one). They sent a plumber named Zach...he pulled the old faucet and tried to get a part out of the faucet...he jerked the faucet up and down so hard, it broke a water line coming up to the tub! Then he started checking to replace the garbage disposal --he said all the connections needed replaced and quoted a a price tag of $5500.00!!! Then he started telling us we needed to replace all the water line connections in the whole house and quoted $21,000.00! We said no way....he called another plumber Jason to repair the water line and of course he had to cut a part of the wall out to repair. Jason did a good job but he did not run water through the new faucet and thee was another leak that we found after running water in the bathtub...they sent a plumber Danny and he fixed what he found but also had to cut out more wall and baseboard...then we discovered more leakage at the same place..they sent out the best plumber of all..her name is Crystal..she pulled the drain in the bathtub and found the crack in the drain that should have been found by Jason!!! Now we have been waiting for a month to get the wall repaired and I have had several phone calls and texts with Bryan the Plumbing Manager regarding the wall repair and I am still waiting today, July 8, 2024, for a phone call to get a carpenter scheduled to fix the wall!!! We scheduled a time from 12:00-4:00 and they didn't even show up until 5:00. Once they got their equipment out they said, "our battery is dead so we have to run back to charge it." We live near Edmond and their shop is in Moore! I truly felt like we were being pranked. If you know OKC, you know getting to and from Moore during rush hour is not a quick task. After waiting another hour until 6:00, they decide we'll have to reschedule. WE WAITED FOR SIX HOURS JUST TO BE TOLD TO RESCHEDULE!? I can't say I know anyone who appreciates their time being wasted. We made sure to reschedule appointments to be home from 12:00-4:00 and then for ACS to show up unprepared after having a 4 hour window is ridiculous, unprofessional and disrespectful. 100% would not recommend. read more

AC in the attic area had a drain tube was stopped up, and I needed for someone with experience to inspect the unit and blow out the 'gunk' in the drain tube. The representative I spoke to was very insistent that I purchase one of their yearly maintenance programs. I just wanted the *&5# fixed. Air Comfort came out for a $69 tune up on an AC unit that has never failed or given issues. It definitely has some years under its belt so my husband and I thought this "tune up" would be a smart move. Next thing i know my husband is calling me telling me that its going to be $20,000 for a new system. The guy said we needed all new duct work under the house, even showed us a picture. We ended up getting a couple other quotes and much to our surprise all the other company's said we most definitely did not need a new system, only a small area of the duct needed repaired. Turns out the tech took a picture of that one spot and told us our entire house looked like that. This is not acceptable, not to mention the other contractors actually ended up telling us Air Comfort Solutions has marks against them with the BBB just wish i would have checked first. read more

Me: Ok, I was expecting around 200.00 max Tech: ok that will be $787.00 with the 99.00 service call. Me: your flipping crazy!! A new tank cost 700.00. Tech: we can replace the tank for 2200.00 Me: you flipping out of your mind. Tech: Ok, then you owe 99.00 for the service call. Me: for what I told you what was wrong with it. Get out of my house. Tech: I will write it up as an estimate and not charge you. Me: have a good day. Here is the cost break down. Scenario 1---Thermal coupler cost $10 Labor $748.00. The job takes 30 mins that amount to almost 1,500 per hour. Scenario 2--- Install a mid-grade 40 gallon tank cost $700 labor charge 1500.00 The job would take 2 techs 2 hours max. That's a rate of $385 per hour per tech. I wonder how many older citizens have fallen for this outrageous charge. My poor mom would have paid the $800 if it would have been her house. We had Kirk out last week he changed out our capacitor and got the unit to run. He also told us our unit had no refrigerant. We thought that was odd because the unit was working fine today before.
