I was a patient at this office for over 20 years. I had the dentist that opened up the practice…read more After he retired he left me in good hands with three very capable dentists as well as most the office staff did not change. The are now owned by 42 North Dental Care, PLLC practice and this company is owned and operated by dentists Dr. Samuel Shames, DMD. and Dr. Ronald Weissman, DMD. Since they took over all the former dentists are gone and last I knew most of the staff had left. They put crowns on three on implants I had done at an oral surgeons office in December 2023. Last week, 18 months later they sent me a huge bill. A week later I got an automated call asking for me to pay over $2500 right then. This is just one of the most absurd situations I have every been in with a dental office. The doctor that did the crowns, Dr Pabaney, was the worst dentist I have ever had. I only went to them because I was with the practice when I first stared the implant process. Not only was it a total nightmare just getting them to call me back to get an appointment but his chairside miner was rude, he had THE WORST BREATHE OF ANYONE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED and he is supposedly a dentist. Even his dental assistant knew he smelled, the look on her face was a look of horror, even she couldn't take it. Since I've moved to the area there are so many other dentists office that you have to go anyplace else. Also, look for who the owners are, if they have anything to do with 42 North Dental Care, PLLC stay away.

HORRIBLE. Went to Northborough Dental for 19 years and always had such great care from Dr. Howells…read more He was an amazing Dentist! Dr. Pabeny, I hate even referring to him as "Dr.", took the practice over and is an absolute SLEAZE who lacks professional morality. The Hippoocratic Oath he took when becoming a dentist meant nothing to him. He damaged one of my four crowns and downright lied to my face and was backpedaling on his story when I called him out on it face-to-face. I have never met a medical professional who could look a client/patient in the eyes and lie. Not to mention the note he doctored in an attempt to cover his butt when I brought up seeking legal assistance on the matter. When requesting for documentation and imaging he refused to send ANY documentation that I could then use to hold him accountable. He is an absolute sleaze who should rethink what type of professional he actually is...which he is NOT. Pabeny, you are a downright lying sleazebag. I can't emphasize the sleazebag more when referencing you!

THE MICHAEL JORDAN OF ENDODONTISTS!…read more Believe it or not, I am about to sing the praises of an endodontist! No reason to be nervous about a root canal, especially if you have a good dentist. I was actually looking forward to having mine! Why? Because I was in a lot of pain for a few weeks BEFORE having the procedure... I wanted it to stop! After some research on the web, I chose Dr. Aboushala based on his stellar reviews and credentials... and I'm so glad I did. Firstly, Dr. Aboushala is all about doing everything he can to save your tooth... I like that. I had a very large area of infection (hence the pain) and he affirmed that a root canal would be the right procedure. He did an amazing job... absolutely no pain. I've had a few root canals before, but this doctor is in his own league. He has a wonderful caring demeanor and explains everything he is doing. He is very deliberate and checks everything along the way in an exacting manor. He takes the time to make sure that everything he is doing is perfect. As the procedure advanced, his professionalism gave me the confidence that I would have a successful outcome. And I did! I was finished with the procedure around 12n and my tooth already felt so much better that night. I could eat soft foods with no problem, and pretty much anything I wanted a couple days later. I was ecstatic! After returning to the doctor's office for a check on it, everything was in good shape, as I expected. If you need a root canal, I can't recommend Dr. Aboushala more highly. He's quite special and I'm so glad I found him. I'm thinking of moving to Florida soon, but if I need a root canal in the future I will no doubt fly back to Boston to see this amazing man who does fantastic work and genuinely cares about his patients.

From my first interaction with the office, I was relieved and pleasantly surprised by how flexible…read moreand understanding everyone was. I called on a Thursday from a vacation because my dentist recommended a root canal ASAP. Dr. Aboushala's office was able to get me in first thing Monday morning. They explained how the insurance worked and took all my information so there wasn't much to do when I got there. Once confirmed that I did need a root canal, Dr. Aboushala said he could do it right then and was very gentle, explaining everything along the way. One thing I was concerned about was the discomfort of having your mouth open for so long, but he kept providing frequent breaks, which really made a difference. They explained clearly post-procedure instructions and worked with me to adjust them so they were right for me. The follow-up the next day was the icing on the cake. So while no one ever wants a root canal, if you have to have one, Dr. Aboushala and his office make it as easy as possible and I highly recommend them.

The staff was friendly, but what I expected to be a consultation felt more like a push toward having a root canal than a discussion of all available options. After the appointment, I decided to get a second opinion before proceeding with treatment. Two different dental offices requested my 3D CT scan from this office so they could properly evaluate my situation. Both offices told me they never received it. I paid for that scan, and I was trying to make an informed decision about a significant dental procedure. Instead, I found myself unable to get other specialists the information they needed to fully evaluate my case. Whether intentional or not, the result was the same: it made getting a second opinion far more difficult than it should have been. My advice to anyone considering treatment here: if they take imaging, ask for a copy before you leave the office. Do not assume it will be sent later if you decide to seek another opinion. Patients deserve access to their own diagnostic information and the ability to explore treatment options without obstacles. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

My dentist referred me to WE to get a 3D x-ray to determine if root canal was feasible (visible…read morecracks above gum; through-the-cheek x-ray looked OK, but 3D shows more). WE refused to do the 3D x-ray. When pressed, she said she could do the 3D x-ray after doing a root canal - if I wanted it. [Why do the test to see if root canal is feasible AFTER the root canal?] Instead, she duplicated the through-the-cheek x-ray that the dentist had done a few days earlier. [Supposedly, ADA recommendations on lead shielding have been relaxed because, among other things, with digital x-rays, there's no need for duplicates. WE doesn't use lead shields AND does unnecessary x-rays.] Then, WE did the same exam that the dentist had done - though following an inflexible procedure: Positioned my arm on my leg and said to raise it if I felt pain. Tapped on a different tooth. I looked at her and said, "Of course it doesn't hurt; you're tapping on the wrong tooth." She started over again, placing my arm on my leg... I glared at her as she tapped on the wrong tooth again. Eventually, she tapped on the tooth that I had gone to her for, and I raised my hand. Sprayed something like liquid nitrogen on the tooth to determine temperature sensitivity. Then declared "The roots are dead; I'll do a root canal.". [Never checked the roots themselves.] Charged $355 to do what the dentist had already done (for less money).... I found another endodondist who did the 3D x-ray. I suspect my dentist referred me because WE is owned by the same chain that bought my dentist's practice. I'll start looking for another dentist, now. The stupidity continues. I got a phone call from them about the above review. They claimed that they were trying to save me money by not doing the 3D x-ray. Then, why did she offer to do it AFTER the root canal? Then, the 3D x-ray would have been a complete waste. She also said that the through-the-cheek x-ray wasn't good enough. [Why not mention that?] I brought up the fact that, in the waiting area, I was notified that they were running late 35 minutes after my appointment time. I tried to explain that the time to tell a patient that you're running late is at or before the time at which they are late. She tried to justify giving notification after it's become obvious. They just don't get it. I just hung up.

My appointment with the oral surgeon is next week and I called Dr. Stern to please prescribe me an antibiotic because my tooth is infected. I am running a low grade fever. Guess what she called me and I I advised her what was going on. All I need is an antibiotic to relief the pain. Dr Stern stated she would have to call me back which she did NOT. Because she stands to not make anymore money on my visit Dr Stern choses to leave me in severe pain. All I asked for was an antibiotic.
