It's also not in front of the onsite contractor who you refused to work directly with. It's also not in front of the 74 year old home owner, who is out of state recovering from a medical procedure. Needed a sink p-trap put on but found my old galvanized pipe was in poor shape. I wanted it removed from the reduction bushing and replaced. Their plumber said he wouldn't remove it because there might be problems with the galvanized pipe going to basement. My wife wanted the new sink hooked up after 12 days without one (had a new kitchen put in). He ended up cutting the pipe and adding a rubber extension and a piece of pvc to connect (used) to the sink. Downspout , p trap and pvc tube were supplied by me. For $500 in 30 minutes he cut the pipe and assembled it. When I got the pdf invoice it showed the price and $50.00 coupon As well as custom plumbing repair but now way to see what the 50 was taken off of. When I called and asked for an itemized receipt, they said they had no way to provide one. Yes the sink works but what an effing RIPOFF. Do not use this company. read more

I'm writing this review because like so many others I have been severely ripped off by Aiello. The latest is a repair on my System 2000 boiler. The part being replaced is the low water pressure shut off sensor. Price quoted: Aiello- shut off sensor replaced plus labor: $1300.00 Average cost of part and labor charged by others- about $300.00 max That doesn't include the initial visit fee either which was another $129.00. This company commits highway robbery without batting an eye. It DOES NOT matter how long you have been a customer of theirs or how much business you have given them through those years either. They will rip you off every single time to an outrageous degree. To add insult to injury, if you need them for an emergency, they'll blow you off unless you have a yearly contract with them that costs several hundreds. To be fair, it seems many companies do this now, but I've been a customer of theirs for 20 years. They sold and installed my System 2000 boiler. But it didn't matter. Middle of winter on a Friday night, since it was after hours, they refused to come. Being technically ignorant made me an easy mark and I should have done my research sooner for sure. I called Aiello Home Services to replace my outside faucet. First off the tech did have the part so had to leave to get one. He replaced the faucet with a frost free spigot. The tech was not even here for an hour and they charged me 808.00 dollars. If you google the prices of frost free spigots most of them are under $100.00. Unfortunately I was not home so my friend approved the quote before letting me know the amount. I will never again call this company for any services. I'm posting because I'm reading a lot of comments out here about excessive pricing from Aiello. I recently used Aiello guys to replace a transformer in my furnace. I knew something didn't sound right when they wanted $700 + the $99 for just showing up. But I was in a hurry to get this done so I agreed to it. Then today I took the time to talk to others and research. It should cost about $175 to replace a transformer. I agreed to their price so I'm not going to call and complain. It was my own fault and its out of my control at this point. What I can control is not using Aiello any more going forward. I also control my ability to warn others to be careful with them. Aiello serviced a clog one unit above our condo, only to immediately cause a clog in our toilet one floor below. An Aiello tech admitted to using a snake that was too short to push the clog out of the building. So over the course of three days - while we were out of town - sewage piled up on two floors of our condo. A completely awful but utterly predictable scenario, if Aeillo cared to think about us. Aiello management refused to take any responsibility for the issue they caused. Their management screamed at us and illegally recorded our phone calls while trying to get us to say lord knows what. In the end, they were held liable after a lengthy insurance battle, but the fiasco was an absolute nightmare. And to think - I didn't even hire these people... My neighbor did. We made an appointment for diagnosis and repair of our AC unit for 10/28/22 at 9:00 am. I was told the price would be $99.00 plus travel. The tech arrived at 5:00 pm and said there was no guarantee he could reach Daikin tech support for a diagnosis. They were open until 5:30 so Daikin was able to diagnosis the problem as well as provide the part number required for repair. The tech invoiced us $170.99 which included an additional $52.00 we were not told we would be charged when I made the appointment. He told me he would call with a quote once the part was ordered. When I heard nothing for weeks, I called the tech but he said he was so busy he was not able to get a quote yet. More time passes and no quote, so I call Aiello to see if the office can get me a quote but they tell me there is nothing on file. I ask for his supervisor and he promises the tech will get me a quote and if I don't hear from the tech he/Keith would get me a quote, the part would take a month to arrive. The tech eventually calls with a verbal price of $760.00 and I ask for a written quote. Knowing the original quote was not accurate. More waiting, I call Keith to find out there is no lead time on the part, they can't find it and the tech told him he quoted me $800.00. Knowing the part number, I locate and purchase the part online and call Keith on 12/1/22 and he promises to get me a written quote with a customer supplied part. 12/15/22 comes I call to speak to Keith but he is not available to speak, so I sent him an email. His response was, he will get me a written quote the next day. Today is 1/09/2023, I have no quote and don't expect to receive one. I don't trust a company that doesn't give you a quote or return calls. 1/10/23 called another company, they returned my call and came out in one week. They actually called before they arrived, repaired the unit with the part I supplied, checked and found some loose wiring. He came in and said To fix my faucet in the kitchen I had three options. Replace the cartridge in the sink that would've cost me $550. If I bought my own replacement facet it would costs $850, and lastly, if I bought a faucet from them to install it would cost over $1000. It just seems so ridiculous that a project that would take them less than an hour they we could justify paying that type of money. Called Aiello because we thought one of the heating elements in our 2-year-old hot water heater was broken. We paid $99 for someone to come out, take a cursory look at the water heater, not actually inspect or test the parts in question, and agree with us that it was most likely going to be an issue with a heating element. Then we got a quote to fix it for $1000 (not including the $99 fee for coming out). These parts are $30 and the guy said it would be about an hour of labor. Seriously? I cannot believe we paid $99 for this absurd estimate. We called two other places after Aiello left and both quoted $200-300 for this job. Disgraceful service and the company should be ashamed. After numerous calls with horrific customer service reps that talked over me and became combative at every step in the process, we finally got someone to come out. We got the half hour notification they would be here... then they were late. We just purchased a home and they serviced the house - in less than 4 months the problem returned but the company told me repeatedly that because we are new owners, they did not have to honor their old work because we aren't the customer and there's nothing they could do for us. The plumber finally gets here, and plays around for an hour, basically just to bill us. He never looked at the issue and just looked at the shower fixture cartidge and said it needed to be replaced bc it was wet... for $400! He claimed to do it, nothing was done. As soon as he left, we tested the shower (which he did not do) and sure enough it leaked through and cracked our ceiling. A new plumber came today and found the issue within 5 minutes and showed us how Aiello never even looked where they said (it's impossible bc he would have had to open the wall to do so) and never even replaced anything. Criminal, that is the kindest word I can think of to describe them. They charged over $20,000 to replace the line out to the road in East Hartford, did the "work" in 1 day. Had my father, 85 years old sign papers to get started on the work right away. Included having to cut the driveway, lay PVC pipe and fill with gravel, sounds like about 5-10 thousand job at most to me. They left without saying a word. My dad and I called a few times with no response until I threatened to hold back payment on my credit card, (which I still may do) suddenly they couldn't call fast enough. They should be ashamed of themselves but looking at other reviews that's not the case, seems to be their M.O. I will do everything in my power to make sure they don't take advantage of anyone else, I'm in contact with the state for Elder Abuse and am now looking forward to this fight. Recently had Aiello out for a routine furnace maintenance. They came out 1 day after I called--a miracle in these times. They were prompt, courteous and less expensive than some other companies I called. They made suggestions to upgrade my older furnace without replacing the whole thing. My mother-in-law had a small problem with her toilet. It only needed a new chain from the plunger to the flush lever. The plumber came to take a look. He didn't even fix the problem. He said he didn't have the part- what??? So, he left it as is and recommended that she buy a new toilet- double what??? Then, he said a new toilet would be between $1,400 and $1,500- triple what???. After installing a new heating system in our home it took several extra visits for them to get it working correctly. Now a year later and two canceled service appointments, by them, a supervisor promised to call me in the morning to resolve the issue, which he never did. I lost two half days of work waiting for a technician to show but only got two cancelations. And to top it all off they charged me 100.00 to change a lightbulb, a service any other company probably would have done as a courtesy. Horrible customer service and shoddy workmanship at best. We had them come out to give our furnace and heating it's yearly inspection. They gave it a clean bill of help. A few weeks later water was pooling near the furnace. They charged almost $600 to tighten some lose hoses. I guess the mice must of loosened them. They also suggested we might consider replacing the sump pump in the future. 2 days later the water was again pooling by the furnace. I called a handyman to take a look. The pump had been unplugged. Wish I had read all of these negative reviews about Aiellos high prices. Technician quoted me a price of $550 to replace a shut off valve on the water line to my washer. The exact same part is available from Home Depot for $40. Decided to let technician do the job since I would have had to pay the $99 fee for coming to my home anyway. Job took less than an hour and was actually charged $630. Had to bring technician back into house from his truck before leaving since new valve was leaking slightly and had to be tightened. This may be my very first review of this or any business that provides any service .. I had a sewer drain that blocked up .. I called them because of an ad to clear any drain for under $100 .. these guys are dangerous if not criminals i may even venture out to say thieves .. DO NOT CALL THEM FOR ANYTHING .. they attempted to pull a bait and switch on me .. first tech came and relieved (not fix my issue) and charged me just under $700 the second tech came out with a camera/scope and sent an estimate for almost 9000.00 (to escalate and replace 10ft of pipe) .. I called another the Town of West Hartford they got referred me to MDC (who laughed and said THOSE GUYS AGAIN) who advised me to call a different business and the will come out and confirm condition of pipes if necessary and as a courtesy will assist the hime owner with the excavations.. I reached out to a local plumber / drain cleaner who came out and cleared my pipes from my house to the main .. he concluded that this is normal and mo excavation is needed .. most drains need routine maintenance especially if you have trees between home and street .. he charged 350 and done .. i reached out and CALLED out MR. Salesperson for Aiello Plumbing who could me no more apologetic .. all he would say was sorry and he knows what he did .. he referred me to call his company for resolve which I did not .. it's takes too much time and energy and all I am gonna get is a run around .. Wishing 48 hours I found out the attempted to screw an OLD LADY in WEST HARTFORD.. MDC tech got pissed and called my Plumber in their presence to prove what a piece of shit company they are .. yesterday found out that a coworker elderly Mother got charged 500 because her toilet reservoir kept running (a flap) And another buddy got screwed out of 1600 in hartford for an so condition issue .. This company is a rip off they came to inspect my aunt basement that was flooded due to the heavy rain. Charged $99 for inspection and told her the sewer pipe is all rot. Never give her an estimate but tell her to apply for a loan and her homeowners insurance will reimburse her. She did applied for the loan on their computer with their help since she does not know how to use a computer. She was approved for $27800, these bastards used her signature that she signed for the loan approval and redirect the loan money to their account. After 2 weeks she never received the loan check she called the bank and was told the money was paid to this company. When trying to contact them they are not returning her calls, no estimate and also still trying to contact her homeowners insurance to file a claim. Beware of this company. I would never recommend them to anyone. I called Aiello due to a drain issue. They are holding a special of $93 to clean the main drain. The technician arrived when scheduled looked for a clean out and could not locate it. He told me that he could remove the toilet and access the drain through there but it would cost in excess of $900. He went on to tell me that because he has to remove the toilet that the special is void. I said, "you mean to tell me that it will essentially cost me an additional $800 to remove the toilet, snake the drain and replace the toilet. He said yes, it's not that easy and you have to replace the wax. I said no thank you and he said okay today's cost will be $69, completely feel that I was taken advantage of. read more

Spartak M was my plumbing technician for a job that turned out to be much more complicated than expected -- a leaking toilet that once removed revealed rotted wood and extra open space below the flange. Spartak worked continuously for 4 hours to open the ceiling from below, install additional two-by-fours, replace the flange, and replace the seal. He also replaced the leaky water valves on my sink even though they were very close to the wall and difficult to access. He explained every step to me and was very friendly. He had everything he needed in his truck so even though the job was complicated he did it all in one afternoon. I was very happy with the service I received. read more

I called them in good faith and a tech came for leaking under sink. He told me sink had a hole creating leak. Turned hot and cold faucets said they worked fine. I walked away five minutes later he said cold water shut off was leaking probably shot which I don't fault him for they were ten years old. However he told me it would be six hundred dollars to repair them. Ahh that didn't sound right to me. Every time he played with his I pad price was increased to a new faucet and sink I was considering . We have used this companies services twice now and both times have gone well. We also ended up with the same tech both times so that was nice. We have an 80yr old house so our pipes are on the way out. They've replaced our septic pipe, repaired a connection and then replaced a grey water pipe. Both times they were able to come the next day and arrived on time. They are respectful, explain the work, and clean up. The pricing was within standard industry range. Any time there's plumbing you have to be ready for the bill, I wish I had known they were banking like that when I was younger! All in all, we have no complaints and I'm sure they'll be back for another fix cause my house hates me. read more

Called Aiello to get a quote on a pressure reduction valve for my water service. They quoted $1360 for the job. Being a retired remodeling contractor I knew this quote was excessively high, and told them so. I was expecting something in the $400 range, and subsequently received two other quotes from licensed plumbers for the job. One was $375 and the other was $440. When I questioned the Aiello contractor about the quote, he confessed that about $500 was for work that he thought ought to be done, but not a part of the valve installation I requested. I asked him to quote only the work I requested, and they still came in at $800. I asked them to go away, but still had to pay their $99 fee to get their rip-off quotation. My advise is to avoid doing business with these people. read more

Our main line sewer pipe had clogged on a Thursday afternoon so seeing recent billboards advertising "$93 or its free" mainline clearing I called to set an appointment. They sent out a tech (Brody C.) to my home Friday morning to snake the line to what he claimed was 75 feet with no mention of resistance and even wrote on his report that "the water was flowing", and once he was done he waited for another tech (Angelo D.) to arrive with a camera to inspect the line. Long story short the camera tech (Angelo D.) advised me that my pipe had collapsed (first time he said at 24 feet, then shortly after that said it collapsed at 10 feet). He proceeded to work up a price quote to dig up my yard, under my deck, through my driveway out to the street, replace all the pipe up to 70 feet all to the tune of $25,000. At the end of our conversation Angelo told me that "my house is out of service and no water could be used". After hearing this news I needed a second opinion so I called a sewer specialist company(Bristol/Terryville septic and sewer), which they were out to my home that same afternoon. Their tech ran a few tests with water flow (toilet flushing, bathtub running for the duration of work time) because he "found it VERY difficult to believe that our clay pipe had collapsed" and found that there was no water backing up. To be absolutely sure he decided to run his snake through the line to see if there was any blockages, he ran 75 feet with an auger blade and ran into no resistance, then to be even more sure he connected an extension and ran another 60 feet for a total of 130 feet with no sign of blockage or collapsed pipe. I ended up paying the second company $250 to do the job Aiello Home services claimed they were unable to do. I called and spoke to a quite snarky representative named Ty who wanted to play the wording game when I told him I should be refunded my $93 because they admittedly not done their job. My bigger issue with this event is, how many people would this company take advantage of by just going along with their advice and gotten screwed out of $25,000 plus the cost of repairing their driveway and other work they would not completely rebuild ? Also as a side note Angelo the camera tech misidentified the location and running pattern of the sewer line through my driveway (his equipment was actually identifying my city water line into the house). I had a clogged sink and called this company to help us out. At first we were told it would going to cost $528 to replace the trap and snap the drain. Then we were told it would be $528 to snake the drain and another $528 to replace the trap. We were then told we needed to change the garbage disposal. All we needed was the drain unclogged. Unfortunately I was at work and they took advantage of my wife not knowing about plumbing. When I called and asked why I was charged $528 to snake my drain they said "it is what it is". "We contacted Aiello due to the furnace in my condo not working largely because there was a sticker on the equipment presumably from a visit 4+ years ago. This appointment was made for Tuesday 11/15. The Tech came in for FIRST VISIT and replaced a number of parts for over $3,000, but after all of this said we needed a new 'mother board' and he would be back Thursday or Friday when the part came in. After zero contact by Aiello on Friday 11/18, my son in law reached out and was told that they don't know where the part is (coming from TX) and it might be here by Monday or Tuesday. Why we were told Thursday/Friday AND then were not contacted by the company to tell us there was a delay....lack of customer service (trend..). Tuesday, we get a text in the morning that a tech was on their way for SECOND VISIT, my son in law takes 1/2 day off work and meets the tech. Mother board is replaced and we finally have heat after a week. 5 days later on Saturday we have no heat again. We reach out to Aiello, they contact their tech, the tech says there is almost no chance they can get there Saturday or Sunday and that we would need to reach back out to customer service to schedule. Exasperated, I do that, schedule a tech for Monday AND ask the customer service rep to have the owner/manager CALL ME since this is now the THIRD VISIT to fix our furnace AND ask that they schedule the tech for after 2pm so my son in law wouldn't have to take time off from work. NO ONE CALLS ever AND to boot we get a text at 10:15am that the tech is on their way. Son in law takes another 1/2 day off work, tech shows up and "fixes" the problem with new part, that happens to by the same new part he replaced on 11/15. I call the company to speak to someone again, NO ONE CALLS back (11/28). Also of note, before the tech leaves after the 3rd VISIT, by son in law asks them to clean up the zip ties, old parts and trash he leaves behind each time, and to ask why we can't get the cover back on the furnace. He says the new part won't allow it and suggests we just put a piece of card board in place with holds in it as a new cover.....this is a gas furnace with burners and they want us to replace a metal cover with a piece of card board....?????? Guess what....on 12/3 the heat is not working again....we call...no sense of urgency to help a customer out given this is now the FOURTH VISIT. I speak to Monica and tell not request Monica that the appointment needs to be after 2pm so my son in law doesn't need to take another 1/2 day off work. I also tell her that I need to speak to an owner/manager asap, she tells me that she will reach out to Keith. We get a text on Monday morning saying a tech was on their way...son in law takes another 1/2 day off work, tech shows up with supervisor and find out that the part which has been replaced now 2 times already was the wrong voltage and now they have the right part. Before they show up I reach out to Keith and ask why have our requests for appts after 2pm been ignored. He says he is not sure, that there is no note in system and he would call me after they fixed furnace......NO CALL EVER. I in the meantime call Monica, who doesn't take my call to find out if/why my request for an appointment after 2pm was ignored for the second time....NO CALL EVER. So my conclusion off Aiello....If you want the worst customer experience ever, get charged over $3,000 in labor and parts for likely was a $100 fix and have that fix take FOUR VISITS when least convenient to the customer ....call Aiello POST SCRIPT 6/2/2023 ....Days heat up and time to turn on a/c......not working....guess who we don't call...Aiello...we call a more reputable hvac company to fix the a/c...nothing wrong with the a/c other than it was wired incorrectly when someone "fixed" the furnace. Word of caution to those who have a small project. This is not the company for you. They were going to charge over 600.00 dollars for a simple faucet replacement. I believe that was in addition to the 99.00 dollars for just coming out, even if it was not, I have had larger projects done by other companies for less. So, small project? Look elsewhere! read more
