As a first-time visitor to a bath house, I was unsure of what to expect. Unfortunately, my…read moreexperience did not meet my expectations, and I will not return.
Upon arrival, the check-in process was disappointing. The staff member assisting us was notably unhelpful and rude, lacking any guidance on how the facility operated. This made us feel unwelcome, especially when we asked basic questions about the layout and amenities.
We began our visit in the infrared sauna, which, although small, was clean. The steam room was functional and provided a pleasant experience. However, our time in the jacuzzi was far from satisfactory. It was not properly filled, registered at only 97 degrees, and had a concerning brown color with visible scum floating on the surface.
Seeking to make the most of our visit, I attempted to swim laps in the pool, only to find that swim lessons were being conducted at the same time, making it difficult to navigate without colliding with others.
After returning downstairs, we hoped to relax in the infrared sauna again, but after waiting for 15 minutes without any available seats, we decided to leave. This is no reflection of this establishment but after changing and walking upstairs to pay I witnessed a young lady popping her boyfriend's pimple in the sauna, which was subtle reminder of why I decided to cut this experience short and made the right decision to leave within an hour of visiting.
My husband inquired about returning later due to the crowd, we were informed that re-entry was not permitted, despite having paid for a full day. I hadn't had a chance to tell him I wouldn't not be returning regardless.
To add to our frustration, our total bill came to $148, significantly higher than the quoted $65 for day use.
In summary, my experience at Wall Street Bath & Spa was unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend visiting this establishment. There are numerous other enjoyable activities to explore while in New York.
