They did not bother to tell me until after I got fluoride and x-rays, then let me know as I'm checking out. Hygienist told me i had a couple of cavities, then the new doctor comes in, gives me a weak handshake and tells me I have eight cavities, and I am then asked if I will be able to pay for the fillings up front and get reimbursed through my insurance... I pay over $125 for everything done that day, then get a bill from my insurance for the remainder. Safe to say I cancelled my next cleaning and will not be going back. First.. I have to start off by saying I LOATHE going to the dentist.. I know. But after my first visit here I've never felt more at home. Amy and Jenna are absolute DOLLS! It's almost as if I've known them for years the way they are so good with communicating with you and this is just when you walk in. I am putting this review out here because I'm hoping the Dentist sees this. Six months ago, my family made our semi yearly appointments for cleanings and checkups. This is for two adults and two children, we scheduled out so we could all have the appointments on the same day. This appointment was coming up in the next week and a half. This morning. We received a call from AMY. Apparently she is the office manager, telling us that there is a personal emergency with the Dentist and she would like to reschedule us and we said "sure" but then she wanted to reschedule us in three different appointments and we said "no that won't work" " you are canceling on us we want, the same appointment structure to accommodate our family like it was but on a different date" we were trying to cooperate, to understanding of the Dentists emergency. We were open to changing our appointment to any date, just all of us on the same structured appointment as before. And she refused and then she started telling me and my wife that we were attacking her and saying that we're refusing to change our appointment because the dentist has personal issues... We tried to tell her what are you talking about? But she was very irrational. We told her we will change our appointment, but not in three different appointments! To recap, Amy wanted us to change our appointment into three separate appointments on three separate dates instead of one and Amy was totally unreasonable, irrational and unaccommodating, insulting us and not listening to us. Accusing us of attacking her. It was completely unprofessional and insane. We ended the phone call. If the dentist cares I would like her to reach out to us, even though Amy has made it very uncomfortable to enter the office now. read more

I have been a patient of Ahwatukee Dentistry for many years. A friend originally referred me to Dr. Tam. I was so comfortable with the treatment that I received that I continued to get major and routine dental work done even though, the first year, they were not contracted with my insurance company - this was remedied in year two. The comfort and care I received were worth every nickel! The stress I previously always felt sitting in a dentist's chair never happened at Ahwatukee Dentistry. They went out of their way and went above and beyond to put their patients at ease. When Dr. Tam left her practice in the hands of Dr. Lanie, I felt those old anxious feelings coming back. Dr. Tam sent out a message to her patients telling us to trust her judgment in recommending Dr. Lanie and to give Dr. Lanie a chance. I did just that! The transition in my care was seamless and has remained extraordinary. Kat is still there, providing her remarkable teeth cleanings with such care and fun conversation. I had a poor experience here a few weeks ago, and decided not to write a review because it wasn't sooo bad that other people should know about it, but bad enough that I wouldn't ever go back. However, I just got the bill through my insurance and now I have something to say. I came here for a dental cleaning and check up; my insurance plan covers regular preventative care, and X-rays once a year. I also wanted to ask about adult braces, as I had Invisalign treatment in the past and was unhappy with the results. I made it very clear to them at Ahwatukee Dentistry that I was not at all interested in information about Invisalign, but they continued to push it on me, asking if I wanted to see a projection of what "it could do", and before I could even say no the woman was already preparing the rendering. Again, I reiterated that I was not interested in this treatment. My appointment was at 8:30am, and I didn't leave there until 11:15am... nearly 3 hours?! The girl who did my new patient questionnaire was nice enough, but I got the feeling she had no idea what she was doing. The intake alone took about an hour. I had never been to this dentist before, so I was unfamiliar with their intake procedure, so when they asked me if I wanted to do some scan (unsure of what they called it), I was hesitant. But they said it's required for all new patients. What did I know... It turns out, this scan they said is required for all new patients is not covered by insurance and they of course failed to mention this when they coerced me into doing it. The same girl who did my intake questionnaire was the same one to do this scan, which took another hour! She didn't know how to do it, my jaw had locked from being open for so long, and this is still all before the cleaning has even happened!! I take really great care of my mouth. I floss every day, and brush my teeth after every meal and swish with a total care rinse. The doctor never showed me ANY of the X-rays but instead claimed I have NINE cavities, while only showing me photos of this scan they did, which as a matter of fact turned out to be the same imagery of the rendered Invisalign plan... hmm. So they're using something that a patient doesn't even want in order to charge them for services not needed.... As it turns out, they are billing me for $441 for something called a Cone Beam scan (again, not covered by ins and not discussed with me before doing it). I have a somewhat lingering feeling that since I refused any information about Invisalign they are trying to squeeze money out of me anyway by pushing this scan on me. Terrible way to conduct a practice. Ahwatukee Dentistry, you should really inform your patients what they are going to charged for before forcing services on them that are not needed. I have already placed a call to the dentist to have them rebill my insurance without this scan. Still waiting for a call back as the girl I need to speak to is on lunch. I'll give it another hour, then I'll call my insurance so they can get in touch with the dentist office themselves. Terrible, terrible practice. Do not go here! **Update: I got a call back from the dentist office, and the woman I spoke to says that they "zeroed out the claim"... so I don't have to pay anything. I'm still going to check in with my insurance company to be sure, and I still will not return to this office. read more

I went to many dentists, but this dentist is the worse one I ever confront so far. Last January 22, 2021, I went to her office to have my two implants re-tighten. The receptionist told me it will be $99 for the X-rays and the check up. I agreed. After the X-rays I waited for about 30 minutes (please notice the office has no patient, but me), then Dr. Tam Le show up. she checked my two implants then disappeared. I lied there and waited again for about 45 minutes. Then the receptionist came in and told me, to re-tighten the two implants I will have to pay $550. I jumped out of shock, and told her I refused to have the work done. The receptionist then told me to pay for $99. Over all, I came in from 2:30 pm until the minute I jumped out of that office it was 4:00 pm and the office has no one but me. Is that the way they were taught in school to let patient wait like that? Even though there are no patient in the office to show that they are important or busy??? And to add more problems in this matter. I went back to my original dentist (which is far from my house) it only cost me $30 to re-tighten my two implants. I would suggest you take precautious while visiting this office (15215 S. 48th Suite 113, Ahwatukee, AZ). They are very greedy and not honest at all. If they are honest people, for simple work like this and if they do want to "cut-throat" people they should let the customer knows upfront the cost, but not bluffing like this. I wasted my time (from 2:30 to 4:00 pm) and my blood money (I am a retiree with very limited money!) just for NOTHING. I should give her NO STAR if I am allowing to do so. read more

I went to Ahwatukee dentistry a few weeks ago for an emergency visit due to pain on my upper and lower left teeth. They gave me a limited exam so they could save some time to also get some work done. Dr Le told me I didn't need any major work done and could actually wait to get the work done I was very hesitant as I was experiencing pain but she reassured me that it would not cause any problems if I waited. During the two weeks that I was waiting the problems got worse I kept calling and they kept reassuring me I didn't need any work done and it could wait. Due to the corona virus they would only be taking clients who were emergency status. They said my new apt date would be after a month or two as I was not emergency. I had also prepaid $200 for my apt that now was being pushed back to June. I told them I had a lot of pain and couldn't wait 2 months so they finally allowed me to come in after 2 weeks. When I got there Dr Le realized she missed a deep cavity on my upper left side and as a result was turning into a root canal. She said she was sorry and was only human and had made a mistake when taking the xrays. Due to waiting Dr Le explained to me that the work she did today may not take and I may still have to get a root canal. I was left like this for two weeks. I had a filling that she said she could temporarily fix as well during the same apt she did a temporary fix on a crown but after she already worked on my tooth she told me she could not finish the work. After working on my filling she said she would have to get me a referral to finish the work at another dentistry. When I finished the apt I went to leave and they stopped me and said I needed to pay for the apt another $130 but I had pre paid this 2 weeks prior. They had nothing showing that I paid I had to pull up a bank statement on my phone to prove that I paid. Once they saw the bank statement they kept apologizing and looked it up with my debit card number. They found my payment under a different persons name and had actually over charged me. Dr le said it was one of her workers who put it under the wrong name and would refund me plus give me a discount of 25%. I won't revive my money back for 14 days. I am still currently waiting for these referrals to finish the rest of my crown work. It was a terrible experience and I'm scared that the miss that dr le made by not taking correct X-rays may cost me my tooth. I posted my testimonial on her website and it still has yet to be shown on her website. Only good reviews seem to get threw on her website. I find this very dishonest as well. Please if you have pain get a 2nd opinion I trusted Dr. Lee and she left me with pain and half the work done. She would have charged me double if I didn't have the bank statement on my phone.
