Slumlords, very unprofessional staff. Lack basic customer care. They are also vindictive and horrible living conditions.

Unfortunately, my experience with Angelica Blotkevich and this brokerage was extremely disappointing. There was a complete lack of professionalism, poor communication, and low-quality service throughout the entire process. Emails often went unanswered, and calls were not returned in a timely or professional manner. We planned to sell our home through her; however, there were numerous mistakes, poor decisions, and unprofessional actions on her side throughout the process. The information provided to us was frequently inaccurate, outdated, or poorly communicated, which ultimately led us to terminate the contract and move forward separately. When we decided to end the agreement, we were unexpectedly sent a bill demanding payment for photographs and brochures that we never specifically requested. This situation felt very unprofessional and disappointing. This realtor was recommended to us by someone we had trusted and worked with for many years, which made the experience even more upsetting. Unfortunately, the realtor who recommended her was deeply disappointed. Based on our experience, I absolutely would not recommend working with this brokerage and real estate agent. Den.

When I asked if there was a floor plan for the property, she started to interrogate me. She asked me if I were an agent. When I told her I was selling my condo in *****, she then asked me why I wanted to view the property I was interested in. Without knowing anything about me or the size of my family, she responded "I see. And you need 5 bedrooms?  That's a lot of house on ***** Street.." I could have responded that it is impossible for me to judge the size of the property without knowing its square footage or viewing a floor plan .... instead I stopped corresponding with her as her tone had become somewhat aggressive. Needless to say, I did not see the property.

I got in contact with Gloria after seeing one of her listings on StreetEasy. At this point, my husband and I put in an application for another apartment elsewhere, but continued looking at places just in case. Gloria's listing looked great. There were enough pictures and it communicated what was unique about the space. However, when I walked around the apartment, it was not what I expected--not because the pictures weren't accurate, but the layout of the the apartment and how all the rooms connect to one another is difficult to understand with static pictures of each room. Since my husband could not be there (due to work), I asked Gloria if I could take video and walk through the entirety of the space. She asked me, "weren't my pictures enough? I don't want those posted elsewhere." I reassured her I wouldn't; I told her that I can't make a decision without my husband. And so she let me, which I appreciated. Later that evening, our other application was accepted, and we got the other apartment. Gloria followed up in the morning, asking if I still wanted an application. Gloria: Hello Jaclyn. I am following up with you with reference to the apt you saw yesterday on ****** Ave. Are you interested in applying? --Gloria Me: Good morning, Gloria! My husband and I ended up closing the deal on another apartment last night. With that, we won't be applying for the apartment on ****** avenue. Thank you! Gloria: Really! Strange... I hope you don't use the video you took of my apt. I hope you're not one of those shoppers who say they are looking for an apt, take videos and then post them online. You seemed like an honest person. Me: I don't care for your passive aggression and paranoia. My husband wasn't there to see the layout of the apartment, because it's hard to get a sense of the space based on the photos. If perhaps you had a provided a floor plan there would be no need for me to take the video. You're rude to imply that I may dishonest just because I'm not interested in the apartment. Good luck with your search for an "honest" tenant. --- Typos aside, my response is my review of this agent. While I can understand that there protections she needs to be mindful of, she was unprofessional in her manner of taking those precautions. Perhaps have me sign an agreement prior, but I found her manner in speaking to me was disrespectful.

I saw a couple of properties with him & finally applied. He was charging me a huge broker fee even tho the city of NY got rid of broker fees. Once I sent him all of my info & documents, he ghosted me. Very unprofessional. Even if I got declined, he could've just said that. I believe I didn't get declined, I think he just saw that I wasn't a fan of the ridiculous broker fee he was charging.

What he IS, is just extremely bad at his job, and is enabled by a crazy market and desperate renters. In my experience, he did his job, I paid him the anticipated and agreed-upon amount (actually a lower brokers fee it was nice), and he submitted and coordinated what needed to be, between the building and him and I, AKA his job. I was extremely panic-attack level worried about scamming and legitimacy, which I told him straight up. I was overly researching and panicking and expressing a ton of doubt. He was super responsive with me, but got a little better when I called him directly, try to skip the texting with him just call him and ask all your questions. Obviously if you stall too much early on then you'll lose the place and that would be frustrating! I think that the bad reviews are accurate for people who experienced his shittiness and backed out, or didn't get the apartment so the experience worsened and ended on a bad note. But for me, he followed through and got me the unit because he IS a legitimate broker and obviously WANTS to close the deal. The steps were that after touring and a bunch of communication, and tons of paranoia, I signed the lease and FaceTimed with the landlord and Seth, then within a couple of days I Zelled, yes Zelle, the security deposit, brokers fee, and first months rent to his employer, Lang Reality's Zelle. This is normal, legit, and fine! I even moved in early and it's great, super happy. He basically quit responding to texts after I paid him and was in contact with my superintendent, then of course he has minimal incentive to give you time of day. I called him a couple more times and over the phone he is helpful and willing, but I noticed the moment the texting was ineffective, soon after my payments and move in lol. Would I recommend him? No. Is he going to literally scam you, no. Did I find a place to live despite the horrors, yes. Do whatever makes you comfortable, ask every single question you'd like, and know your legal rights and legal process of renting. Good luck!
