He took care of prescriptions, faxed them to the pharmacy, and did everything to make this as hassle-free as it could have been. Dr. Soung is a young guy, competent, and confident without being cocky or annoying. I don't go to the doctor very often, but this was an easy experience, and I appreciated that.

Because of this, I have been inconsistent with the medication I've been on for a while. They don't care about your well-being here and they are in fact the worst when it comes to labs. I don't know if they are regularly understaffed, don't work well together, or are just too new to have things under control yet. This does not put me at ease when choosing a place to have my baby. I've been left standing in the hallway for 10+ minutes b/c they forgot about me. The front desk staff (at least one of the ladies) can be rude, too. Another time, the Obstetrix tech disclosed what she thought to be the sex of my baby without asking me if I wanted to know! And, one time the advice I received from one of the MD/OBGYNs was a wive's tale! Not professional at all. I've experienced much better elsewhere.

She identified issues I was unaware of and was sensitive about explaining her plan to address them. She was wonderfully clear and easy to understand. Unfortunately, I moved too far away to continue to maintain her as my physician. I have recommended her to family and friends as an outstanding physician. If it were physically possible, I would yet be under her excellent care.

However, recently I went to see her…read morebecause I noticed some specific weight gain in areas I hadn't experienced before and chronic heartburn. She told me that I needed to see a nutrition counselor and lose weight. I have overall healthy eating habits and work out 5-6 times per week, so it didn't make sense to me that I would have this type of weight gain or chronic heartburn. I got a second opinion and discovered that I have the worst case of h.pylori she had EVER seen in her entire career. In addition, she dug a little deeper and discovered that my thyroid is very very low functioning. With some appropriate treatment, I'm on the road to recovery. I'm beyond disappointed that Dr. Brusvold chalked my symptoms up to being overweight. It was an easy "diagnosis" and it was wrong and has severely impacted my health and well being. All of this self-created fear went away as soon as Dr Willems entered the treatment room. His relaxed demeanor, ease at conversation, and deep knowledge of his craft, made all of my fear disappear.
