I came here with a giftcard for an hour massage. The waiting area is clean and comfortable and they were right on time with my massage. The masseuse I had was sweet but a little talkative during the massage for my liking. It took away from the relaxing nature of the massage. The other downside was that the room I was in shared a wall with the pizza place next door and you could hear their phone every time it rang. Overall I'd definitely come back using a Groupon or if given a giftcard, but probably not frequently as there are better massage places in Sparks/Reno. read more

Booked myself a 30 min massage and facial on a gift certificate! Upon walking in you are immediately greeted, it is clean and quiet! It was my first time there so I quickly filled out some paperwork that is pretty straight forward and takes a few min. My masseuse was Christina - she was great! She made me feel comfortable and my massage felt amazing! She didn't talk which I appreciated as well! Moving on to my facial, my esthetician was Danielle. She was sweet, let me relax and I loved my facial experience. My face was glowing when we were done. Overall such a great experience. I want to do this for myself more often! greedy. I have been going there for years. I was a member and my husband would buy me gift certificates. They arbitrarily started making rules regarding their gift certificates, for example you could only use one every 6 months. at one point I had like 10 certificates from my husband. so then, because of this rule, they expired. They had to be reminded that gift certificates don't expire by federal law. Then they changed the rule - without telling their clients, that you didn't have to wait 6 months BUT there was a charge for every month the certificate was expired. I just went for a 1-hour massage. I had 2 90-minute certificates left. They wanted to charge me fees to use them. keep in mind I've been a very good client for over 10 years and have given them a lot of my $ over the years (so has my husband). If Allison, the owner, doesn't want to honor certificates people came in and paid for then I suggest she doesn't take them. She'll happily take your money when you buy a certificate and not tell you the terms to use them, then try to tack on "fees" and conditions to use a certificate you paid for. I will never go there again. i will not keep paying for services I've already paid for. EDIT: No Allison, you told me that because you sold the gift certificates as a special price they lost their initial value at the expiration period. This is not stated on the gift certificate NOR is it told to the person purchasing the gift certificate. It's a gift certificate, not a Groupon. A Groupon can lose it's value, not a gift certificate. Also, you fail to remember I was a member for many years so I had monthly massages as well as the certificates so I could not use them all in a year. Even that argument doesn't matter anyway. It was a service that was purchased. Period. It's a gift certificate, period. It's not a groupon, and if you choose to sell it as a "special" that loses value then it is up to you to tell your clients. If you take the money for a service ahead of time then refuse to honor that certificate in the future, that is dishonest. There is no justification for that. When I purchase a gift certificate for someone, I expect it to be honored when they use it, as do most consumers. read more

Found this place through a Groupon offering. Very clean and professional setup. Front desk was attentive and got me in and out in a easy manner. The massage room was great, calm and soothing wall image and music. My massage therapist was great. She went over my chart and requests and made sure the massage was tailored to my liking and problem areas. I wanted to like this place so bad it was recommended to me by a friend and then again by a co worker. It is also very close and convenient for me. I gave 3 chances in about a 6 month span and each time was just disappointing. I've never had a great massage here. I have been a member for 10 plus years! I absolutely love Michelle and Jackie, excellent massage therapists. Had a few I was not fond of at all. The only issue I had recently was asking for specials for Valentine's Day. I was told by the owner that she doesn't take care of promotions, specials etc...that her business manager handles everything. She seemed irritated that she had to be bothered from the back office to answer this question from her receptionist. Been here a number of times now for a couples massages and its been good. I like Ahhh Massage over other places around town because they are a lot more reasonable in term of price. I hate paying over $300 for a 60 minute massage, this place offers the same 60 minutes at nearly half the cost and its quite often is even less if you look around on Groupon. The only thing I would suggest is if you are a male looking for actual deep tissue work you request a male masseuse. I am a bigger guy so getting a smaller female to do deep tissue work never works for me, and the best deep tissue massage I ever got was from a male masseuse here. Sneaky and rude business I found an awesome deal for this place on groupon and decided to book a couples massage. We were very excited only to find out they had booked us on the wrong date and tried to say it was our fault. /: When I tried to rebook they wanted to charge me a fee of $40. Also the receptionist was very rude and not helpful at all. On top of all that they redeemed my groupon trying to say I used it. I had to go through groupon who thankfully gave me a refund. Purchased a $99 Groupon for 30minute sauna and 60min couples massage. Called to schedule it for the following Monday on a Thursday and no problem. The receptionist was very helpful, and took down our Groupon number incase we forgot it. We arrived at 10:30am for our appointment and after filling out a basic health form (medical conditions, allergies, pressure wanted during massage, is it your first time, do you want conversation during massage, etc), we were quickly ushered into a small room with a sauna. Once in the sauna room, we were told to undress, put on robes (so plush!), push the timer button and get in. The sauna was around 123/125 degrees and had 5 preset local radio stations to enjoy while you cook yourself. We were also given each a bottle of water and towel; my husband finished his bottle 15min into a 32min sauna session. I'd consider giving 2 bottles per person or a larger bottle. While in the sauna, our masseuses knocked on the door and let us know it was time. I had Alex, he had Elyse (I think). The room we were taken into was themed Mexico with big letters on the wall and a huge photograph blown up to cover an entire wall. We un-robed and tucked ourselves into the massage table and waited for or masseuses. Alex was very nice, and let me do a back/upper-body massage instead of a full body. He initially asked if I wanted unscented or scented lotion, I asked what the scent options were and he seemed to be a bit caught off guard, maybe this isn't a question they get and just get to pick themselves? Alex often checked in regarding pressure, and adjusted as I needed. What I didn't like was in the little things: there is no locker room or changing room, you carry your stuff with you from room to room; no option to shower after; no option for oil vs lotion (hearing the pump throughout a relaxing massage can get annoying); the lights on the ceiling (although dim) in the massage room point right in your eyes when you roll over on your back - really not pleasant (maybe wall lighting would be better?). Overall the experience was well worth my $99 and if you're looking for a quick pick me up, this is the place for you. read more

Great people! Every therapist that I have had has been great! All over a pleasant experience every time.

The therapists are great, but always seem to be leaving. For the most part, the staff was been friendly, but when it came to my monthly account withdrawal, I felt that I was always getting screwed out of months that I may have missed. I was always told I had so many left and when I tried to reschedule they said I had to wait until the next withdrawal, because they did an audit and found I didn't have any rollovers, which is bull, I know I did. I wasn't always able to make it every month, so I was always under the impression that they were rolling over. In fact they were just removing some from my account. When I asked about it, they were rude and say that some employees didn't know what they were talking about. If they don't know what they were talking about then why do they work there? Also, the sauna was supposed to be included in the monthly, I can't even remember the last time I got to use it. It was never available when I booked a massage. The rooms are freezing, even with the table warmer on. I had specific therapists that I preferred, so when I'd ask to book with them I always felt like I was being a burden for asking, by the way that they would talk to me. I've been canceled on, a couple times, last minute, and never offered to go with someone else. If we, as a client were to cancel last minute, they'd charge us. What do we get? Nothing. I drove all the way across town to come here, it was worth it, the therapists, the price, the staff, but something changed. I used to recommend others to them but not anymore. And reading some of the responses on here from management, being argumentative, definitely goes to show that they don't care about the clients. I'd rather spend more money to be treated better. read more

The massage therapists are great. I would NOT recommend membership though. The office staff is unresponsive unless you would like to spend more $$ for additional services. I have had issues with both myself and my mothers membership and after continued requests for callbacks regarding how many massages I have remaining etc. they just do not respond. Also, there is no one ever at the facility to answer such direct questions. The "person" that I need to speak with is never available. I am thankful there are other options in the area. read more

Her work is consistent and she makes sure throughout to check that the pressure is right and that you are comfortable. The rates here are reasonable and affordable and the staff is friendly and helpful. They are back open and taking all precautions, wearing masks, disinfecting between appointments etc. so I felt very comfortable coming back after they reopened. read more

Very disappointing. I received a Gift Certificate from my daughter for a much needed massage. I called on February 12th to schedule an appt for Saturday the 15th. The girl I spoke to set up the appt and I told her that I had gotten the gift certificate for a gift and she even said "You need to use that" and set my appt. I get there and fill out the paperwork and was told that I would be seen shortly. I asked the girl behind the counter if she wanted my certificate now and she told me "My boss said no gift certificates are allowed this weekend". I was surprised and asked why not. It's not a freebie. It is a paid certificate with a tip included. She picked up a hand written note that said no gift certificates allowed on Valentines Day weekend. I told her that I had made the appt the previous Wednesday and even told the girl that I had a certificate and that she set the appt. I was told that the boss said no and was not in. I grabbed my paperwork and left. Incompetence infuriates me. I told my daughter what happened and said she should get her money back because I will not patronize a place like this and when she finally was able to get a hold of the owner they lied saying that I stormed out of there and they couldn't explain to me why they wouldn't accept my gift card and refused to give her a refund. She berated me to my daughter and was pretty nasty to her. I would definitely not ever go to a place like this. There are too many other places that care for their customers. I'm sure that the people who work there are great and I've seen some nice reviews. I was looking forward to my massage. But for the owner to be nasty and talk bad about me to my daughter just to justify her keeping a couple of bucks is unethical. Poor business tactics. I've gone here about 4 times now all with gift certificates or groupons. The experience has always been pleasant, they have a small but very relaxing facility. Their sauna room is small but they have magazines, water bottles, towels, and a robe waiting for you. They honor the Groupon you purchase and don't have any hidden fees or a mediocre service for having a groupon. I'd written that I wanted medium pressure but that I bruise easily. He started off very firm and I had to mention several times to go softer. About halfway through the massage he proceeded to use these sharp, jab like motions along my hips; while not exactly unpleasant they did leave me with over 20 finger tip sized bruises ( I've uploaded a picture ). It did take me a while to find the right therapist for me, and then she left the organization. However, recently I found Keisha, whose hands are healing hands. Well...how do I being? Why is that black men kill each other more whites kill each other? That is part of the conversation my husband had with the massage therapist. My husband and I came here for a relaxing day and that is NOT the experience he received. My massage was nice with the gentleman I had but "Bertha" was not so accommodating. There is a section on the paperwork that asks the conversation level which we both selected 'as needed', well I guess she felt like she needed tell her political views while at work providing a service to calm and relax !!! I was not in the room but he was so uncomfortable he wanted to run out but he's NAKED! He knows her whole life, she's 43 and has 5 kids 23,19,6,5 &3 and CPS was recently called to her house- really- who does stuff like that!! She talked about how trump should stay in office and how black people do this and that. If you haven't guess yet my husband is black...well... actually he's bi-racial which was very interesting to her. He said that she stood over his and clapped her hands to get her point across while he laid face down on the table. I had already paid for the services and was waiting for him to come out. Once we got into the car he told me I should have not paid for him because he came out more stressed then when he went in. Not what I was expecting, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The lady was very talkative too.... like she talked my ear off. And I selected the "talk as needed" section. Im not much of a talker so I felt like I was forced into having to have a conversation with someone for an hour. Honestly just go to massage envy. The place isn't as beautiful as others I have been to but it is clean and the staff are friendly. I had Alex for my couples massage and he was excellent! Perfect pressure and pace-I highly recommend him. I liked how the rooms were unique and themed by places of paradise. We had Mexico and the music and lights were just right to create a relaxing environment. Only suggestion I have is maybe warming the lotion. We also had a 30 minute sauna session and that was a nice way to end the experience. You could change the radio station inside, set the temperature and lighting. This business cares more about money than retaining clients. To make a very long story [semi] short, I received a coupon from this year's Diva's Day Out event and booked an appointment for my friend and me. There were several issues that arose when booking, because I had changed the appointment length and had to call several times to get my questions answered. Too many people were involved and clearly communication was an issue. I was overcharged for the massages and reached out the day after our appointment requesting a refund. The receptionist said this would be no problem and would have the manager, Alison, call me, as she did not have the capability to issue a refund. From then on, it was a continuous back and forth with Alison about how I was wrong and they were right. I even received an email from Alison that was more like a novel explaining every single part of how I, the customer, was incorrect and how they would not be refunding me. She included the names and dates of every little thing to try to make her case. The silly thing is that I never asked for the full amount to be refunded, just a small amount. I wanted to pay what I was quoted; I should have paid what I was quoted. I will spare you all from the many details of my alleged idiocy because they are irrelevant and erroneous. They also cut my massage time short and said they would "work with me" on making up the time if I return. No thanks. Although the massage I received from Paije was excellent, I cannot fathom how a business would rather lose at least two clients OVER $15. You heard right. They claim they are a small business and "hope I can understand where they are coming from." Well, I am no business connoisseur but you could have profited hundreds of dollars from not only me, but also my friend and the dozens of others I will be sharing this experience with, urging them not to go to Ahhh Massage. Its too bad because I had intended to become a regular client. I am too dumbfounded by their 'leadership' to even consider returning. If you do go here, I suggest you get everything in writing in case you will need to plead your case to the judge. read more

As an unlimited member for the Far Infrared Sauna, I have nothing but good to say about ahhh massage in Sparks. The business is in a great location, parking right in front, very clean and as an everyday regular customer I see what goes on in this place and from my personal experience everyone is very nice. One thing to keep in mind, they do have lots of massage therapist. So, if you for some reason are not happy with one you were placed with do request another one. You should also be clear about what type of massage you like and if you want strong hands. This will give the person booking your appointment as to who you should be placed with. If I only visited the place once (as it is a busy business) I wouldn't get the bigger picture. However, as a regular customer I have met a lot of the employees and the owner. Which in my opinion are professional and kind. If I had not had a good impression the first time I visited, I wouldn't have joined as a member. I recommend this business to anyone looking for a great Spa (massages & Infrared Sauna) experience. read more

The staff here is super friendly and efficient. I primarily come here to use the infrared sauna which I LOVE. They have a monthly plan that is afforadable and the location is very convenient for me. I have had a few massages here and they have all been pretty good. Maureen really helped me out last year when I pulled my lower back. She was fantastic. Last week I saw her walking around in there so I know she is still working there. It is very clean and their monthly membership plan is great. How can you beat getting a massage once a month for $49.95? Great deal. Their hours are good for those of us who work a 9-5 day and they are open on a lot of holidays too. read more
