During the soccer season they have at least three fields operational covering all age groups. The U13+ field is not the largest but it's pretty wide. If you don't, you'll be ticketed over and over again by the bay constable until you move your car, unlike other places in the city where you can remain parked once you get a ticket. So be warned! One really annoying thing is that people bring their dogs during off hours and some will bury their dogs waste in the sand instead of picking it up... If you're gonna own a dog... Own all of it, people!!! Still this beach has some awesome sand and great views of the ocean, amazing sunsets and equally beautiful full moon and stars view at night too! Multiple parking areas but one central area with spaces for bikes and electric cars and life guards and a hot and cold food shack with shower and bathroom facilities that was all rebuilt last year and looks beautiful.

Members are generally very satisfied with the many services and programs. The fitness center is well equipped and supervised and is kept in excellent operating condition. There are plenty of TVs with convenient connectivity to those working out. The main gym is large and accommodating to team soccer, basketball , archery and pickleball. Pickleball nets are easily assembled and the gym weekday mornings welcome free open pickleball. The locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean. There is an on-site excellent physical therapist in the fitness area, who is my go to PT expert, Mr. Matthew Mobius. On the negative side, the building is in much need of a tune up. The SYS Administration does not have a consistent record of friendly and responsive management. The front desk may be staffed with poorly supervised youth doing mandated community service. The squash court walls are particularly beat up, in immediate need of repair. Parking is often lacking due to the strong popularity of SYS. Unfortunately the facility lacks an indoor pool. SYS is an important part of the Hamptons and there is really nothing else nearby that offers such a varied and affordable sports venue. The nearest YMCA has an excellent indoor pool and is located in East Hampton.

Since there is more dirt than grass, be prepared for dirty and potentially wet feet. On the quiet day we visited, a sitter for six dogs sat on one of the benches, paying more attention to the phone than the various sized dogs. An owner kept his dog on the leash while in the park, usually not a recommended habit. Grateful the town offers a dog park, but not too sure about the care and rules of the park.

However, there have been some incidents in the rowdy section to the point where the dog park is becoming infamous among locals. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were walking our dog from my parents house to the dog park, and stopped by a local business. The business owner came out and warned us against going to the dog park, saying he wouldn't bring his own dog there and that "if you see a pit bull, run". I've also heard from others about a different problematic large dog (and it's owner), where the dog is very aggressive and violent towards other dogs and humans. If you are concerned, perhaps stay in the gentle dog section and don't go into the rowdy section!
