Surfing & Playing In The Waves.

Everything you would hope for in a beach at sunset. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful vistas, clean sand, easy access, parking, & shower stations. Impromptu stop on way to dinner. Could've stayed all night & just taken in the relaxing scenery. While I can't speak to how good the waves are, the surfers & kayakers appeared to be as happy. Everyone was chill.

Pavilion with Snack Shack (breakfast, lunch, sweets, drinks), tables, bathrooms, & shower.

Wide soft sandy Beaches are similar along the south side of Long Island but seem to have a big difference in crowd density and demographics from either ends of the island. Wasn't busy at all midday midweek in early July. Paid $30 entrance fee for a nonresident. Also gives access to a related beach 2 miles west of this one that has even lower crowd density. In the pavilion 1. Snack Shack that offer breakfast, lunch, treats, desserts, drinks 2. picnic tables to eat them 3. bathrooms 4. outdoor showers 5. SPF 30 sunscreen (at entrance of the beach from the pavilion) Located -between Westhampton & Southampton (& even further from Easthampton ).

Do people read beach reviews? Nevertheless, here's a brief one. My friends and I have made this our beach of choice for an annual summer beach day. We live in Brooklyn and Queens respectively, hence the annual nature of it. Both times it's been absolutely lovely and has the private beach feel. Perfect for a late arrival and even later departure. We tend to stay and watch the dreamy sunset, then kick it to some good music in the parking area once it's pitch black out and star gaze. If you're still reading, don't come. Because we'd like it stay uncrowded :)

Though I am an avid fan of "the Far East," this was my first trip to Hampton Bays. What a pleasant surprise! It is a lovely and underrated Hampton that I won't overlook in the future. $25 to park but otherwise the beach is free. Not a bad deal especially considering South Hampton and other beaches will run you $40 to park. The beach itself was lovely. They have a big pretty clean for a beach restroom. Outdoor showers. Concession stand. You can (and should) bring coolers with food and drinks on the beach. Clientele is lovely so dress to impress. I'm aware it's a beach but put on make up anyway so you don't feel as conspicuous as I did.

    Beautiful and peaceful

I love this beach! It's peaceful, quiet, clean. No seashells though, sad. Anyway, we came here to check out the beach area in case we want to come back and enjoy the sun. As far as the water goes, of course I can't see my feet but that's ok. We were they to take a walk, not to look at my feet! They lay out a nice mat on the pathway going to the beach, can't beat that! Nice discovery indeed!

Beautiful beach. Luckily i know someone who has a beach pass so we just drive right in! On arriving you go over this huge bridge it has a great view. Their is a little shop on the beach property where you can rent chairs/ umbrellas get some food and even has some fun beach toys for kids! Bathrooms need a little updating and restocking Very warm in there. They do have a baby changing station. Looks like the air dryer has barnacles growing on it! A little freaky On the way down to the beach through the main area they have a great blue pathway to walk on to avoid getting sunk in on the sand really loved that i wish all beaches have that! The lifeguards who were off duty were playing a game of volleyball on one of the many nets!! Cant wait to return again!!

I was in the area and wanted to catch the sunset. Such a beautiful beach, soft white sand. Will definitely be back for another time when we can stay all day

My childhood beach of yore. So many memories of fresh water showers, italian ices & everlasting gobstoppers, flirting with the cute teenage lifeguards ... long summer days wiled away by the sea. I've been baking in the sun on Ponquogue Beach since I was a tot, and it's still my favorite beach of all time. From pretty shells to seaglass, you can find it while walking the sands. Yes, it gets packed in the summer months, most notably on the weekends, but it's totally worth visiting. Forget up-the-island beaches - Ponquogue is where it's at. If you're a local, you can get a beach sticker for parking at a reasonable rate, but if you're an out-of-towner, expect to pay a pretty penny for a day pass. Or you can walk. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1lIal6Bc90 Hampton Bays is not considered to be the "real" Hamptons by the residents of the rest of the Hamptons. It is much more down to earth and has regular people unlike the rest of the Hamptons. It might be a good intro to the area. It has more of a fun feeling than Jones or any of the public beaches. In the Hampton Bays it is more common for New Yorkers to get a hotel than the other Hampton areas. http://www.kayak.com/Hampton-Bays-Hotels.26937.hotel.ksp

4.5 Stars.    I love…read morethe Long Island Pine Barrens Region. So much so, that in Las Vegas, I have had dreams that I was hiking in Sears Burrows County Park. A few forested miles southwest of it, my dream kind of came true when we visited the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. My stepmother, who is familiar with the Refuge encouraged my dad and I to join her there on a nature walk.    The Quogue Wildlife Refuge has been protecting this 305 acre naturescape since 1934. It is a naturescape adorned with pine forests, fields, the rare dwarf pine forest, bogs, swamps, a pond, and pine oak forests.    Contrary to how I envisioned the Refuge, it was not this difficult to find place. Parking was right off Old Country Road. Across from the unpaved parking lot were the attractions that serve as a trailhead to the four color coded trails (please see the map proceeding the review) that range from a 0.8 mile hike on the Green Trail to a 2.5 mile hike on the Blue Trail. Welcoming us was the Outdoor Wildlife Complex where injured wildlife are well taken care of thanks to the kindness of people that care. One of the acts of kindness are the Visitors who donate money at the entrance. This leads to the point that admission is free, yet a donation is the right thing to do. I took some time photographing the animals that included owls, foxes, raccoons, and Giant African Spurred tortoises in the nearby greenhouse. Although these aren't grand habitats that would be found in the Bronx Zoo, I appreciated that the animals had a home. In the shadow of the Outdoor Wildlife Complex and pine trees was the full service restrooms. All the way to the left was the Old Ice Pond.    My Dad, stepmother, and yours truly engaged in a relatively short walk in the southeast corner of the park where a pine oak forest interspersed with fields dominate. My Dad's knees bother him, so we engaged in a shorter hike with breaks on the benches breathing, hearing, and sightseeing the pine barrens. We'd see a deer and birds up on the pine trees. Our ears would also take in the sound of the nearby train. Our experience leads to the point that the seven miles of hiking trails appear to be more relaxing than strenuous.    The Old Ice Pond framed by a mature forest is the picture postcard centerpiece of the landscape. There are hiking trails that overlook it. We took in this picture postcard from a bench and inside the Charles Banks Belt Nature Center, which looks like an inn overlooking the pond. We shared the panoramic spectacular views of the ice pond with several volunteers who were sending out materials that we assumed were promoting the Refuge. Within this building that reminds me of a lodge, is a museum of neat nature related stuff. Some were real like the lizards. The preserved butterflies were really cool. This is a neat place to check out when it os open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.    Our visit ended with the three of us taking in the springtime scenery of the Old Ice Pond.    I do have a concern that is causing me to leave my rating at 4.5 instead of 5 stars. That has to do with the east preiphery fence. When we walked along the southeast border there was a fence smack dab in the middle of the pine forest. My concern is that this is unprotected land that can fall victim to the bulldozer. If that were to happen, it would ruin the experience on account of a truncated forest causing the Refuge to feel more like a caged in 305 acre yard than a part of a pine forest. I really hope that the other side of the east periphery fence is a protected forest. My concern is merited from seeing a before and after picture inside the Nature Center of rapid sprawl along nearby County Route 104.    On the future, I would love to return to Quogue Wildlife Refuge. Especially in the Fall when the trees change colors over the pond. Until then, I hope to have more dreams about the Pine Barrens.

It was about $700+ after fees, tip, etc, and it was totally worth it. Our captain, Mason, was super cool. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and we felt comfortable being really annoying and weird in front of him. The sail itself was just a short ride in the bay, where we anchored close to a beach. We loved dancing on the boat, trying out the SUP board (included), basically chugging our BYOB drinks (no hard liquor allowed on board), taking pics lounging in the net, gawking at the yachts, and pretending the pool noodles were seahorses that we were riding. Bachelorette stuff! I think we had the Mon Mini boat, probably the smallest option. Included: one SUP board, bluetooth speaker, cooler, two pool noodles, the captain.
