A lot of options on the menu, food pretty good. Took 20 minutes in the drive thru so don't go here if you're in a hurry. Had #5 Mexican plate. The taco was sitting in the enchilada sauce so it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Should have had foil under it.

Outside sign

Wayover priced. They tried to charge me $2.99 for one bean and cheese taco. Very disappointed. I will not be back.

A disclaimer for travelers. This is one of many local places to eat Mexican food. This IS NOT a fancy chain with a fancy building or a generic menu. If you want Americanized Mexican food then you'll need to stick with the big chains that pump out Sysco. This is local style food and atmosphere. A three star rating means this place is worthy of your time and money. It's cheap and delicious. Stopped here for a late breakfast. Place wasn't terribly busy and was promptly allowed to pick a seat anywhere. My waitress was excellent and very attentive. I have a criteria for food establishments in San Antonio due to the saturation of places to get Mexican food. Price and taste which includes the quality of what you get. I'll say it again if you've not read my numerous reviews. If your charging more than $8 for a combo plate of Mexican food, you better make it good and plentiful. It better impress. Too many places here to be priced above that. Agave Grill does it right. The plates are reasonable priced and the food is good. Not great but good. I had a carne guisada breakfast plate with fresh homemade corn tortillas and ranchera sauce for $6. I also like to add a taco from the breakfast menu for see if they are worth the $1.60 The breakfast taco with chorizo and egg was big and filled completely. I was impressed. One of the better breakfast tacos I've tried anywhere. This is just one of many solid Mexican restaurant eateries here in San Antonio. Enjoy

I tried this little place on Broadway one day and got some menudo. I found the soup very delicious and it was packed with the good tripe, the honeycomb. The tortillas were homemade and very good. I will try the taco soon to check the quality of the beef and the pork.

Hair on my taco

I just came from this place and my first taco I had I ate it and then half way thru I ate a hair and then I just threw it away... thinking the other taco was going to have no hair this time the first bite I took this long hair came out of it in my mouth.... don't go here unless you like eating hair...

The atmosphere is really closed off, rice very dry, beans really bland, the chicken enchiladas were good though. We probably won't go back.

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.

I uploaded the pictures of these restaurant last year but somehow didn't write a review. Wow …read more. So where do I begin. I still remember how tasteful everything was. It was probably our most favorite place that we ate while in San Antonio. The ambiance was great, beautifully decorated restaurant with great service. The cocktails were delicious so we had a few. The food was flavorful and unique. We had a wonderful dinner with my family at Carriqui.

Service is fast, place is decently clean for the foot traffic, the servers all look happy and eager to work. I ordered tortilla soup, I usually like it with a cup of rice and avocado like most places serve it. However, I definitely think this is a safe Mexican food restaurant when it comes to not overdoing it with spices and the extra stuff. My soup had a decent amount of chicken. I had a mimosa, loved that they used fresh orange juice. Flour tortillas were delicious! Before heading out you need to have the sweet bread!! So goooodd!

People say when in San Antonio, do like the San Antonian's. Nobody really says that. I mean, I just…read moredid, but I also just made it up. With that being said, let's make up a review. Except I'm not actually making the review up, I've been to the place. Both San Antonio and the restaurant moments away from being reviewed. I'm always down for solid Mexican food. It's always pretty damn good. I mean, at the pure base of things, it's basically the same few ingredients, just different vessels to get it to your mouth. I'm never bad about that. I love transportation. Mi Tierra was a pretty great looking place. Plenty of space, a nice outside waiting area, plus a bakery. I have never been to a place with a bakery that I didn't like. It seemed like a very authentic place, and that's coming from a resident of Michigan. A resident that eats Taco Bell. A resident who eats Taco Bell and think's THAT'S authentic Mexican. The first thing I noticed was that this place did not seem to serve burritos. Not a marker really for me, but it was something I've never came across before. I also thought that you were stuck ordering enchiladas or tacos in a meal type of setting. Upon further questioning, you can order a la cart. That was a relief. I ended up ordering the enchiladas Verdes because sometimes I ignore my color palate and go for green. And because I can't just stop eating one form of meat, cheese, and sauce, I ordered a taco. Actually, I just ordered a taco because I wanted a dryer enchilada. Or did I order the enchiladas because I wanted a wetter taco...I don't know anymore. Anywho, I ground beef, American style taco. Now, I've always been a big fan of chips and salsa. Some salsa hits, some miss. Some salsa is pureed and is basically red water. Some salsa is just a full tomato. I like my salsa like I like my orange juice. With extra calcium. Wait. Mild pulp. That's it. This salsa pretty much hit those notes. Had good flavor and a little spice left to linger. The main course came out and everything looked delicious. Green enchiladas looked exactly like I expected. However, it took me a moment to realize I was not looking at a burrito...but instead, my taco. It was served a peculiar way. wrapped, seam down, with a little bit of the meat on top, pico and lettuce on the outside, next to it. It was a burrito peacocking as a taco. I've never seem this display before, and I have been to many Taco Bell and non-Taco Bell restaurants. The taste was pretty good, though. All the taco flavor in a burrito jacket. The enchiladas were pretty decent, too. Everything tasted like it had all the ingredients and that they were in all the right spots. No doubt about it, I was full after e

Both my wife and I ordered breakfast plates--hers was the chorizo and egg and mine, huevos rancheros. The restaurant was empty besides one diner sitting outside with her dog and one family inside which should have been a red flag to stay away. My chorizo and potatoes were cold and my beans were not hot either. This was not like it had cooled down--cold. The ranchero sauce looked bad and all of the food on my plate had no flavor, no seasoning, literally no effort whatsoever. I had a bug crawl across my hand while we were there as well. She had the issue with her plate, food was not even warm. The tortillas were hot and tasted good so that was how I warmed up my food. Our waiter also decided that he would cross the street to go speak to a woman at the little outdoor patio restaurant across the street on the corner. Not kidding, he was there for at least five or ten minutes just talking to her. I have always wanted to try Tito's and wanted something new to us but I guarantee there is no way we will ever go back. We left hungry, disappointed and embarrassed by what we just went through.
