I would select negative stars if that were an option. Recently, the community manager posted a paper notice on the outside on my unit's front door advising residents of a new policy in which a $50 fee will be assessed for residents whom fail To pick up their pet's waste outside. The property manager accuses my daughter is not picking up the pet waste and requests payment for $50. I ask if she has evidence of this which I can review. She does not. I tell her that I am not paying that because I've watched my daughter pick up after her pet, and sometimes that means she walks away from the waste in order to retrieve a disposal bag from the provided dispensers and then walks back and cleans it up. The property manager added this $50 fee onto my rent that is automatically deducted from my bank account. I called her and told her that she was STEALING because that's an authorized amount, and I've also searched my entire lease agreement including the pet addendum and there is no authorization and no such fee mentioned. She maintains that it's within her legal rights to that unauthorized payment; furthermore, the only way to pay rent is through this portal which allows them to deduct any arbitrary amount from the designated bank account. I pleaded with her that surely there is a different way to pay rent, and her response is I could purchase a money order and upload it to that portal each month to pay rent. I let her know that I'd be doing that because I don't trust her with my bank account, and that I would deduct $50 from next months rent to restore my account to the state before she stole from me, and she disclosed that the payment would be rejected and less the full amount of the invoice was collected. I have escalated this to Bridge Property Management. At this point, my opinion of these apartments has changed drastically from when I initially moved in a little over a year and a half ago. I no longer recommend them; in fact, I say avoid this place like the plague. In addition to this incident of theft, these apartments are rampant with drugs, violence, vandalism, and loud parties which constantly attracts police attention. Moreover, the apartments are infested with every type of bug you can imagine not surprisingly when you consider the holes in exterior walls, the flooding that happens during monsoon season, and the type of resident that this place attracts. The property does take pride in the exterior maintenance of the grounds, but that's really where the appeal ends. There are better places in this price point, and I would encourage you to look around before signing up for theft, vandalism, disturbances of the peace, drug activity, and the passed out, inebriated, and rowdy residents you'll encounter in the community during and after a night of rowdy partying. read more
