My wife got the chicken fajita and the same problem, it really lacked flavor. The guacamole appears not to have been made fresh. Honestly, I won't stop here again. The staff spoke English to us but all other communication was in Spanish which in my paranoid mind meant they were talking about us. Just had a conversation with our waiter and we expressed our problem with meal and he apologized and said he would check into it. That was comforting. I would note that I observed that all condiment bottles at table were almost empty so maybe others need ed more flavor with their meal also? Again the waiter was super apologetic and pleasant to have at the table.

I thought this place was a great find in Huber Heights. Apparently, it has been there since 2017…read morebut I have never noticed it even though it is right up the road from my in-laws' place. It is not their type of food so they would have never mentioned it. We found it recently when my wife and I were looking for a quick lunch option while on an errand. The building shape looks like it is a small hole-in-the-wall fast food place, and that's pretty much what it is. It makes sense when one considers that Victor's is designed to compete with TB. This place is clean and tidy, but quite small and relatively simple with seating for 30 - 40 people. It's more set up for take out than dine in, but you can certainly eat there if you'd like. This was apparently the fourth Dayton franchise. In the bigger picture, they have seven (7) in Ohio and four (4) in Tennessee. Hence, they are small enough to provide that friendly Mom-and-Pop quaintness without that stale corporate vibe. The menu here is a bit more extensive with homier touches compared to TB. They were relatively complete with their variety of Mexican fare and part of their offering is Mexican street food. We were there for lunch so we went a little bit to the light side with tacos. My wife had the shredded chicken tacos and I had the chorizo, egg and cheese tacos. I loved that they had the breakfast tacos as an option. The food was very good. The woman who waited on us was very pleasant and seemed quite interested in making sure we got exactly what we wanted. The prices were also quite fair as we got away with less than $10 per person with water to drink. My only small complaint was that their drinks were limited and the machine was constituted of Pepsi products, which do not suit us. We would have been happy to substitute iced tea but they did not offer it. The dining area, while relatively spartan, was certainly adequate to allow us a place to sit and eat our order. I thought this place was quite good and we would try it again for a quick meal when we're in the area. It's a tasty inexpensive option, particularly for lunch. It's very good for what it is and delivers commensurate with its purpose.

Visited 26 JUL 24…read more When you are in a town where your spouse previously lived, you can stumble onto a place that she has been to. In fact she wasn't even aware this was a chain. We were in town visiting family. We were in between "events" and had time to have lunch by ourselves. We were both in the mood for something a little different than the other one the road meals we had been having. A bit of Tex-Mex sounded like the right thing as we were driving around and she was showing me old haunts. This is a decent place, it is exactly what you expect in terms of decor, music, aroma. It all well sets the mood for a pleasant border run experience. The furniture is substantial, dark, leather{ette}. Our server Maria, was engaging, effective and paid just enough attention to us on a weekday afternoon that we didn't feel quite neglected. There were a few occupied tables, including some ladies outdoors having mid-day margaritas. I suspect this location does well on the weekends and evenings, there is a good bit of housing around. Where it didn't quite come through for me was the food. It was adequate. My wife said it was what she remembered, solid and consistent. She had a beef burrito combo and I had chicken burrito combo. We both ate the entire serving (it was filling without being too much). My chicken was a bit "soggy" and the flavor was not committed to either Texas or Mexico. If we lived here, would likely come back and try some other things. Maybe have a drink or two- that might bring some additional flavor. I imagine they have mild-i-fied everything for a mid western audience. I suspect ordering in Spanish might get you the good stuff.
