I only trust Precision Motors to service my Tacoma. Zach, Albert, and Gonsalo are all highly professional and enthusiastic about their work. They're always good to answer my numerous questions. Thanks guys for taking good care of me & my truck. read more

I can't begin to explain how great they are: fast and efficient in scheduling service (one routine and one more urgent); super knowledgeable about my BMW and the usual, exceptional and optional but important maintenance issues; both friendly and respectful, even when I described concerns in non-expert ways; and reasonably priced. It was as if my car was serviced by my friend's cool brothers, who are genuinely concerned and want the best for me and the car. read more

Zack was very knowledgable and transparent and wants to make sure you are not getting ripped off by the dealer. Went for a biennial brake fluid flush for my G20 BMW 3 series. read more

Changed mechanics when I bought a used Mercedes. They have been my "go to" mechanic ever since. Personal, straightforward, honest, great work, timely delivery and good value. I couldn't be happier they are in the neighborhood and so knowledgable! Thank-you to their fantastic team of pros. read more

I have been taking my cars to Erich for a really long time and I am beyond impressed with the new ownership. Erich passed the baton to the right guys. The entire team were very responsive, beyond knowledgeable, transparent, and reasonably priced. If you have a German car, AG Precision Motors is the trusted partner you need. read more

Outstanding service and care. Rates are not inflated. They walked me through everything needed and what can wait until a later date. This will definitely be our family shop from now on. Thank you for your honesty and work today. read more

I highly recommend this shop! Albert and his brother are incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, and they go above and beyond to provide exceptional service and repair at a very fair price! They were able to fix our Audi Q7 Brake Noise issue - a problem that seemed unfixable based on our dealings with Audi HQ and the Audi dealer service center (there was a class action lawsuit for this brake noise problem for 2015-2018 Q7 SUVs). They have been servicing our Audi and BMW for several years now and we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for any general maintenance or repair. read more

these guys have great customer service and are worth the 30minute drive from walnut creek.

Just wanted to give these guys a shout out! If you have a German car and are looking for an honest, reasonable mechanic in the Oakland area, this is your place. I've had nothing but good experiences, and I trust them 100%. read more

Absolutely pleased with their service. Right away, they set scope expectations, possible issues that could change pricing, and were upfront with their estimates. The final price was within the range, which for German car maintenance/repairs is rarely the case IME. The work itself is commendable - got issues fully resolved and they went above and beyond by resolving an issue that they identified during core service. Plus, they are all nice folks. Fellow Yelpers, if you have a German auto in need of TLC, I urge you to seek the expertise of AG Precision. read more

I have a very old (1987 SEL) Mercedes-Benz, which a lot of mechanics do not want to work on or will over-charge to touch. Albert and his team took over Precision from Eric, and they are great. They had the part on hand and had me in and out that day. The price of the labor was extremely reasonable. Parts can get pricey, but that is the case with these old Mercedes'. I will definitely be going back for the little fixes that I have been avoiding. My one tip is to call ahead. They might not be able to get your car in same-day, but you can make arrangements for later in the week. In this case, my car was not running and in a safe lot, so this worked out. read more

I have a 2006 Mini Cooper that needed some help. Albert was very helpful and to the point. Was told I could drop it off, but wouldn't be looked at till Friday. Swift Service. Brought it in on a Tues morning and was able to pick up the next day. Great communication letting me know what needed to be done and costs. But most of all, felt genuine and honest. Not trying to rip you off vibes. Can't find that too often these days. Zack and Gonzalo were friendly to meet as well. Go Team AGPM!!! Bring your car here!!! read more

I've brought multiple cars here for years. Always appreciate the professional and friendly service. Very thorough and exceptional workmanship read more

G and the team are consummate professionals -- I've been coming to get my car serviced back when the shop was still in San Francisco. You won't find mechanics more knowledgeable, efficient, and reliable than the guys here at Precision Motors. My BMW has had its fair share of problems throughout the years but G has always addressed them promptly and very affordably. From a simple smog to leaky coolant lines buried deep in the engine bay, G has managed to get my car back on the road in a timely manner. At the end of the day, you want someone who knows what they're doing when you pick a mechanic so I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend this shop. read more

Gonzalo is the best. I've been going to him for years. He is the mechanic you go to when all others fail, so I just always go to him. My GMC C3 (they no longer work on American vehicles, G was just doing an old customer a favor) was horribly trashed by a thief in San Francisco. What idiot uses a grinder to steal a vehicle? Unfortunately, I finally had a problem that even stumped Gonzalo the genius mechanic. He could not figure out how to get my pickup fixed due to the extensive ignition system electrical damage. But even in defeat, I feel Gonzalo succeeded in contributing to my vehicle's return to the road. It is complicated to explain, but Gonzalo did do the main repair that ultimately fixed my vehicle, we all just didn't know it at the time. When he went as far as he could with my repair, he then put me in contact with the super expert specialist that took me the remaining 10 percent of the way to getting my truck going. Thanks again "G" for taking on what others did not want to touch, staying with me on the repair, and contributing to the eventual repair. I highly recommend G because he is honest, affordable, intelligent, easy to work with, and dedicated to a customer's vehicle repair. Now I just have to deal with the insurance...ugh. read more

AG Precision Motors is a breath of fresh air in these days of doubt and uncertainty. Who do we trust? I had just left an auto dealership after declining a service that was simply unaffordable for the moment. I wasn't questioning the quote, I was just sad it was so high. I happened upon AG Precision and the VW Bug icon caught my eye, so I rolled in for a 2nd opinion. Not only was the estimate about 50% less than the dealership quote, the work was completed in about 2 hours, and part of that 2 hrs was wait-time for the part. Gonzolo (G), helped me initially, he is one of the owners who is very friendly, and most importantly, non-judgmental about the original estimate. He did not upsell, he simply diagnosed the problem, gave me a price, and Zack took over and fixed it. Zack and Gonzolo are both straight-forward, exuding honestly and good will. Like I said, it was a breath of fresh air. I am a now a customer, and a customer for life. Go see G, Zack and Albert for your mechanical needs, you won't regret it. read more

The team at AG really know their stuff! G, one of the owners, was able to diagnose an issue with our Mercedes that two other shops could not and for a deal that was unbelievably affordable. I can't express enough how knowledgeable, professional, and honest G comes across as he takes his time explaining his conclusions and ideas with us before attempting any repairs. One of the last truly honest auto technicians in the area if you ask me. Will definitely return and recommend to all! read more

Thanx Albert and team. I thought Eric was amazing, I'm so glad they are followin in Eric's steps. I have an old VW Jetta that's on it's last leg. I'm not the best at maintenance. However just as Eric , Albert has been very nonjudgemental and help me understand what things I need to do to get most out of my car. He explains all my options and works within my budget letting me know priorities to keep the car running - or ditch it *-*. I'm very appreciative for having them as a close resource for my car maintenance needs. Thank you Albert and team!! read more

These guys saved my bacon. I drove my ailing 2011 Tiguan the longest four blocks of my life - from the VW dealership to their place on Broadway. Smoke was billowing out the exhaust and I was yelling at every car in my way, fearful I would be stranded in that short distance. I had had my Tigger towed to the dealer the night before as they had been servicing it for several years. Frustrated at the lack of personalized service and feeling like a number, not to mention the exorbitant quotes, I rolled the dice on Precision and they delivered in spades. The quote was thoughtful and fair, the communications were friendly and thorough. They made a suggestion for a service that, done during this repair, saved me from the issue worsening and causing future problems. I appreciated the opportunity to be proactive without feeling like they were trying to oversell me. I look forward to continuing to give them my business and to building an ongoing relationship with their shop. Highly recommend. read more

My 2014 Mercedes CLS-550 doesn't get driven much, but I did annual service with Erich and he was very mindful of servicing for the miles of the vehicle. I found him to be thoughtful and fair. We've since moved and wish we could still have him perform annual maintenance. Highly recommend him for your needs. read more

G and the new team are amazing. They are quick, extremely knowledgeable, and most importantly honest. Ill be bringing all my cars to them from now on. Thanks again! read more

I went in there last week and asked if they could look at my car. He said, "Oh I'm to busy and am backed up so come back in December when I will have more help." But today a woman pulled up and he took her car in! So I stopped and asked her. She said she made an appointment that she's been a client for years. Now why wasn't I asked to make an appointment or even inquire about what's going on with my car instead of just telling me I'm to busy! I feel it is highly suspect! read more

AG Precision Motors new owners are talented, experienced and organized. For years I took my 2005 MBZ to Erich here. Selfishly I was sad when he decided to retire and sell the business but after meeting and having the new owners work on my car I am ecstatic! Two great mechanics to continue caring for my car! They are great! read more

Erich and his team have been my mechanics for close to 10 years now with multiple vehicles. Two Sprinters, a Mini Cooper, and others. They've done excellent work more times than I care to remember. They're not the lowest rate but they do it right the first time and always look for the most minimal way to solve the issue. There are some comments about him being a bit stern. Definitely more of a surgeon than a therapist :) Who would you rather have working on your car? read more

I just had some major work done at Precision Motors on my older BMW 7-Series. Erich presented me with multiple options (including doing nothing...which would have resulted in him making...nothing!). I opted to have everything done because I love the car. The quality of the work was flawless & timely, the price was extremely fair, the communication was perfect and the car was returned to me as immaculate as I left it. This man is a rare treasure and we're all lucky to have him on Broadway in Oakland! read more

NEVER AGAIN! I was having problems with my O2 sensor so I dropped my car off on Monday, July 20th and returned to check on the car Friday, July 24th - but my car was not there! Erich told me that the mechanic just left for a test drive and instructed me to return in an hour...seriously, dude where's my car? When the mechanic (who was NOT WEARING A FACE COVERING) returned with my car almost an hour later, I noticed that the car was driven for 44 miles since the last start. By the way, my car was driven over 100 miles since I dropped it off at Precision Motors. Nonetheless, Erich proceeded to tell me that he replaced the thermostat (which I never authorized), but that the car still couldn't pass the smog test. He then told me that my car had all kinds of mechanical issues - the polar opposite of what he told me in January 2020 when I took my car to his shop for a routine "A Service." At that time, he told me that my car was fine except for the rear brakes. My car has been serviced by Precision Motors for approximately three years. Initially, the service was stellar. However, my recent repair jobs were problematic. In January 2020, I paid almost $700 to have my rear brakes replaced. I called Erich a few days later to report that the brakes were squeaking loudly; he told me to drive it for 500 miles and if they're still squeaking to bring it back to the shop. The brakes continued to squeak until shortly before the July 2020 service; however, when I finally got my car back the brakes were squeaking again! Needless to say, the events of "repair job" were absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Erich refused to have a conversation with me and abruptly told me to take the car and go. I literally chose this spot due to the 69 fair reviews before me. Erich is an extremely knowledgable person to diagnose your car issues. Don't blame him that you're on Oakland potholes instead of "ze smooth Autobahn". Nobody else will give you a straightforward diagnostic like Eric. (Skip the "stealership" and go here!) read more

Erich and his team are so good that I am willing to drive over an hour to get to their shop. They do great work every time I go in. My only fear is that some real estate developer buys them out in the near future! read more

Good service at reasonable prices. Hands down better than going to the dealer for MB cars.

I have an older Mercedes and Precision Motors has been servicing it for several years. This is one of the most knowledgeable shops I have ever been to. They know what to fix and what can wait on older Mercedes. Fare prices too! read more

Where do I begin? I don't think I need to explain the value of a trusted auto mechanic. There are few feelings worse than dropping off your car for necessary repairs, and knowing that you're going to get ripped off, but also knowing that there's nothing you can do about it (you need your car to work, after all.) Erich is the exact opposite of that situation. I know that I can drop off my car for any reason, and not worry about any unexpected "extras" being added to my invoice. Having a mechanic tell you that a certain repair might not be worth the cost is a rare and beautiful thing, and that type of honesty is what creates loyal customers. My car was recently at his shop, and I received a call noting that an additional (previously undiscussed) repair would be needed, I explained that I would be able to make that repair myself (I can fix the little things.) Due to a miscommunication with the person working on my car, the repair was done anyway, and when I arrived to pay my invoice, I was informed of the error, and not charged for the repair. I could go on and on... I've been taking my car to Erich for about ten years, across three different shops, and if he ever retires, I'll consider selling my car and buy a nice bicycle. Summary: Take your car here, and be confident that you're not being charged for any unnecessary work, and that the work performed will be done correctly and on time. read more

I wish I had more stars for this business. Eric is the owner and operator of Precision Motors and he is the only person you will deal with when doing business with PM. Erich has been looking after my cars since he took over Precision Motors. Very knowledgeable on many makes and models, always convincing me *not* to spend money until I absolutely have to. Plus, I call him at a moment's notice and he ready to inspect and advise. I was referred to Erich and Precision Motors by a friend and fellow BMW owner. I've been burned over the years by a BMW dealership and a different independent repair shop in Oakland. Erich has my absolute trust and faith in diagnosing and fixing whatever ails my 2000 528i BMW. He listens to my concerns and works within my budget (unlike other repair shops). He really is a craftsman who genuinely cares about his customers and their cars. He's fixed a couple of strange things in my car in a timely and wallet-friendly manner.
