At one point, I only felt one hand on me and then immediately heard another ding, so I suspect she was texting during the massage, which felt very unprofessional. 3. She initially stepped out of the room pretty early into the session without saying anything, and it wasnt to get a hot towel because I had no oil or anything on me yet, and I had no idea where she had gone. When she returned, I asked where she went, and she casually said, "Oh, we're so busy today," which made me feel like my time and appointment weren't being prioritized and went to help other customers who were walking in because I constantly heard the chime from the entrance. 4. Then later she stepped out to get a hot towel, which she did inform me about -- I guess because I asked her the first time. However, she then left the room a 3rd time. And it wasn't for a towel bc she'd already done that. 5. Something else that made me uncomfortable: she asked to pay before the service, which felt unusual. Later, I noticed in other reviews that some clients paid afterward. I'm not trying to play the race card, but as a person of color, it felt discriminatory and left me wondering if I was being treated differently. It's disheartening to feel that way in a setting that's supposed to help you relax and feel cared for. After the masseuse left the room a third time to assist other clients, I decided to end the session early and got off the table. Something I had never done before in my life. I requested a partial refund, and the masseuse called the owner and explained the situation, then she passed me the phone so I could speak with him. He initially tried to explain that stepping out for a hot towel was standard, but I clarified that she had left two additional times to help up front and appeared to be texting during the session as well. In hindsight, I wish he had been upfront about being short-staffed when I spoke with him to book -- I would've appreciated the chance to look elsewhere. At first, he offered a discount on a future visit, but since I was only visiting the area, that wasn't helpful. After some back and forth, to his credit, he agreed to process a partial refund. They voided the original charge and she rang up a lower amount. But what truly shocked me was when he suggested I could leave a tip afterward -- as if the service warranted one. I was honestly taken aback by that. The masseuse herself was friendly, but overall, this experience did not meet my expectations for a relaxing or professional massage. I hope they take this feedback seriously, especially for out-of-town clients like myself who rely on reviews to make decisions.

The comb, hair dryer, table and sink were all very clean and I left feeling super relaxed.
