We love a 5:00-7:00 Happy Hour! Great spot to hit if you get off work a little later. One of the most gorgeous bars I've ever been to! Staff were friendly.

The vibe is upscale Vegas club. The servers were very stoic almost verging on rude. Made us feel like we didn't belong in their exclusive club. Madame Blueberry was too heavy on the vanilla. Thai Kaa was delicious. My friends enjoyed the Tossing Peels and Burrata Colada. They have a very extensive spirit list. Overall good drinks but service could be NICER. Make some recommendations. Check back to see how our drinks were. Smile.

Had a great experience here for my birthday! Came with my boyfriend for some cocktails and food a few weeks ago. Love the inside vibe in here, very relaxed but upscale. To order we had the Hamachi Crudo with coconut, melon, lime leaf, the Fava Gnocchi with ramp, fava bean, a parmesan foam, and the Rêve Burger with american cheese, pickles, rêve sauce. Everything was absolutely incredible! The burger was melt in your mouth delicious, but my favorite was the hamachi crudo- so many textures and flavors that worked together perfectly! My boyfriends favorite was the fava gnocchi, which I also loved. We had a couple cocktails as well, which some were good some we wouldn't recommend. But overall will be back!

Stopped into After Lounge for a pre-dinner drink. Their standard menu has cocktails, shots, beer, wine, and bites. Looking over the cocktail menu, you can tell the bartenders go a step further in being mixologists. Most drinks offer unique flavor pairings that I've only seen here. My husband and I visited for Happy Hour where a couple of drinks were strongly discounted. He tried the Vesper martini which came with a waygu crisp and caviar. This may have been the best vesper martini I've tried with how balanced it was with a sweet finishing note. This cocktail is discounted by $11 for happy hour which is a steal! I got the Old Fashioned which had a classically, beautiful presentation. It was smooth and not smoked here. The staff working was extremely kind; and for as beautiful as the space was, was dressed casually (which I liked). Diana made all of our drinks and did a great job. She even offered us celebratory birthday shots complimentary! We told her to make what she liked and I think she gave us the Snaquiri which had fruity, sweet notes. It was very easy to take and was the perfect way to end the experience. Cannot wait to visit again soon to try out their standard menu!

The vibes were amazing with upbeat pop music, dim lighting, and an elegant upscale bar atmosphere. 9/10. Service was great. Our server checked in at the right times to order more drinks, clear plates, and keep everything moving smoothly. 9/10. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. The 24K Espresso Martini (8.8/10) was a classic espresso martini with great foam and a slightly sweeter finish. The Madame Blueberry (9/10) had a delicious vanilla blueberry flavor. The Snaquiri (9/10) drank more like a sweet cocktail than a typical shot, and the Cream Crush (9.5/10) was creamy, citrusy, and one of my favorites. The Rêve Fries (7.5/10) were super addicting with sweet seasoned salt and a chipotle aioli. The Chicago Popcorn (7/10) had stale cheddar popcorn, but the miso caramel popcorn was great. Crispy, perfectly balanced, and honestly better than Garrett's caramel popcorn. The Rêve Burger (7.5/10) was a solid classic burger with melted American cheese and pickles. Nothing groundbreaking, but executed well. The Wagyu Short Ribs (8.5/10) were super tender with creamy mashed potatoes, rich sauce, and a nice crunchy topping. The Pot de Crème (9.5/10) completely exceeded my expectations. Between the espresso ice cream, genmai crunch, tea mousse, and chocolate mousse, it tasted like a chocolate milk tea with tons of different textures. Overall, the amazing cocktails, great food, and luxurious vibes make this one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city!

(Kari's Rating 9.5/10) TLDR: -Dark Speakeasy -Craft Cocktails -Retro Vibes One of my friends had her birthday cocktail hour here and we were escorted into a dark back room, where we were able to order cocktails, and various appetizers. The old-fashioned came in a delicate high glass with a dried flower. The fries were crispy and came with a mayo sauce. The CVC with cranberry foam was a delightful refreshing and very light. Would come back with a larger group but it's a bit dark if you're on a first date. This back room rent out was so nice!

After has always been on my wishlist of places to go and I'm glad I finally found the occasion. Unfortunately, I only stayed for one round of drinks but would've loved to have try some of the food here. I was quite surprised how full the venue was despite it being quite frosty outside. West loop is definitely where it's at. Our server Ian was very helpful in giving us recommendations. After definitely gives me "The Menu" vibes if you get what I mean. Overall a nice experience!

Was taken aback finding out this summer that this hidden gem was literally a 5 min walk from me for a couple of years now. Located in the not so popular/ non traffic heavy portion of West Loop/Fulton Mkt, this joint definitely stands out. Building is kinda dark so you could accidentally walk past as its so conspicuous. Very sexy vibe and scene inside with black and white photos on the walls. Dim lit and the bar itself has sex appeal. The one issue I have is the rock music doesnt go too well with the vibe and they have the music too loud at times. I've had to ask them to turn it down as me and my friends were shouting at each other over the music. They have a happy hour menu from 5-7pm which is good to take advantage of...I've been a couple times and its well worth it. I end up staying beyond 7pm everytime. The Duck Wing is pretty good. The Chicken steam buns are ok and Im not the biggest fan of the fries as the batter can be a bit too much. They make magnificent cocktails though! Muchroom Penicillin, Smoked Melon, Hop'd Negroni, Peachy Collins and A5 Vesper (gin/vodka cocktail comes with caviar) are all very nice and my go-tos here.A5 Vesper can be a bit pricey but if you come during HH, its less expensive. Good joint!

This was a perfect post-dinner drink after an experience at EVER. After is a social scene with a creative cocktail menu, full bar and engaged staff.

My friends and I recently went to this place to celebrate a friend's birthday, and I had no idea it even existed. It's the perfect spot for an intimate date night. The interior is all black, and the entrance is a bit hidden -- just a plain black door, which adds to the vibe. We got a table in a private area and ordered during happy hour. We had Bubbles, Dirty Martini, and 24K Espresso Martini. Since we were celebrating, our server was kind enough to bring us shots of Bell Pepper Daiquiri and a non-alcoholic shot of Mushroom Penicillin. I regret not ordering the Bell Pepper Daiquiri, it was my abbbbsolute favorite! I was unsure about it at first, but the flavors were so smooth and balanced. I definitely recommend trying it. We didn't get any food this time, but I'm definitely going back with close friends to try the full menu.

My friend and I stopped by for a drink before dinner. The bar was fairly empty when we visited at 5pm on a Saturday. They happened to have happy hour promotion so we were able to take advantage of their most expensive drink I otherwise wouldn't have ordered. I'm not sure if I liked my drink, but my friend also ordered the mushroom drink which was very nice. Overall, After did not disappoint and wish I could go back and check out more other drinks next time!

Went to After for Restaurant Week and had a phenomenal experience. The service was impeccable from the waiter to the manager to the hostess. We were a little late and they were still able to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. The food was just as impressive. The portions are on the smaller side since it leans more cocktail lounge, but the flavors really stood out. The hamachi crudo in the coconut curry was such a highlight and literally melts in your mouth.

Great venue for a party ... attended a 50th bday . They keep the space really dark ... all the women dressed to the nines couldn't see each others couture outfits haha ! They also don't have a proper signage outside their business for guests to locate the space . Drinks were good, food was fine ... overall vibe was cool

All the premier dinners come with salad, cheese, fondue, and the chocolate fondue - You are just choosing what protein you would like. The Prince Geja combination has a little bit of everything. However, we most liked the seafood which includes lobster and the scallops were to die for! Also the beef also cooks well. Favorite dipping sauce included the pimento mayo, chimichurri, and garlic butter. The cheese fondue is quite rich and the bread is quite filling so maybe get as much cheese as you can on each piece of bread. The chocolate fondue, I think is actually the best course as the Belgium chocolate melts so well and has a decadent but not overly sweet flavor. It pairs well with all that is provided for dipping, which includes poundcake, rice Krispies, strawberries. They also have some liquor that they light on fire at first so you can roast the marshmallows. It is such a well thought out experience. Service flows very well from two waiters who take your order set up your fondue pots for each course, but be prepared to spend at least 2 hours on this experience. Check out the Groupon but also I read a review that they just tack on the extra $50 so it's not really too much of a savings. Not sure if this is true.

Also appreciated that they were accommodating for the vegetarian in our party. Everything except the cheese course can be made vegan friendly as well. The service was top notch! Appreciated that they called me ahead of time to confirm our reservation and ask about food allergies. All the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. They were quick to refill items and answer any questions we had. The location is classic fondue restaurant, cozy and romantic. However, also perfect for catching up with a friend. I love the history in this place and really enjoyed the mood lighting. Pricing was fantastic for the quality of service, food, and drinks! Look forward to many happy returns!

Back Again - Gemini Pt 2, but this time for brunch!…read more I enjoyed my first dinner experience here so much last week that we had to come right back to try their weekend brunch. From the start, the hostesses were inviting and lovely. The restaurant is very pretty, warmly blending a modern style with a touch of classic French bistro elegance. I'm mostly so impressed with how versatile the restaurant actually can be, shifting seamlessly from an elegant, upscale dinner setting with its beautiful U-shaped marble bar to a bright, whimsical, and enchantingly airy brunch setting. The fully opened bifold windows are adjacent to the pergola-topped patio, letting a glorious, cascading breeze drift through the space to create a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow and a lively weekend energy. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: Super Green Vegetable Salad: The kale, broccoli, avocado, asparagus, and peas were crisp and fresh. We loved this so much during our first dinner visit last week that we had to order it again for brunch! Spectacular! Nova Lox Platter: The wild salmon topped with diced red onion, capers, and hard-boiled egg crumble, served with an everything bagel and a side of chive cream cheese, was excellent. French Onion Frittata: The rich gruyère and caramelized onions were wonderful. If you're a French onion soup lover like me, this is a can't-miss!! Definitely will be reordered and often. Fantastic! Daily Omelette: Ordered from the special menu, featuring black truffle salsa, mascarpone, and Calabrian chile honey. It was absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked, and the flavor combination was incredible. Our server, Sarah, was excellent and made the experience even better - we even share the same name! The management team was also incredibly warm and attentive, stopping by our table to welcome us back. Returning twice in one week says it all. This restaurant has made it into my regular rotation and is hands down one of my new favorites!

I came here with three others and we all ordered different things from the brunch menu along with a few drinks. The atmosphere here is open, modern, and pretty eye catching, we all heard a few negative comments about brunch here and rather than just taking words of advice we came anyways. To be honest we should've went elsewhere, the only thing about the food that actually seemed to have any flavor was the fries and even they were a little salty like my wallet when we left LOL The Jumbo (not so much) Lump Crab Benedict at $25 was honestly boring lacking any flavor also it didn't even come with potatoes I ended up sharing my Lincoln Park Turkey Club that was good but even it was pretty basic at $21, the Burger at $21 literally looked like something off the kids menu the bun was bigger than the patty LOL and the Blackened Chicken Caesar at $19 was more like an appetizer size and the chicken at least it was juicy not dry. Other reviews about brunch here seem to be about the same and honestly I think it's funny they don't even try to elevate their food when so many say about the same things. I think the only reason why people come to this place is 1. It's located in Lincoln Park and 2. that makes it a trendy spot to eat. So why bother fixing anything when it's just trendy and flavorless Their brunch is mediocre but apparently dinner is where it's at. However after the experience with brunch I'm not even sure I would even go back. Come here for the staff eat at your own expense maybe your food will have flavor or not but honestly do what you want and keep it trendy

That is to say: I am not throwing words of praise like "one of a kind" and "phenomenal" around lightly. Both are different and still amazing. Sparrow has a vibe straight out of the 1920s. The decor, signage, use of color, and absence of screens or TV's all contribute to the theme. The music is also appropriate and plays at the perfect volume to be pleasant without forcing one to raise their voice. I tried the Green Daisy and a House Old Fashioned. The Green Daisy was boozy and had some herbaceous notes. A little tartness and a little sweetness helped balance the drink out and make for a phenomenal sipper. I loved the creativity with this one! The House Old Fashioned was also well done, assembled with quality ingredients in balance with one another. Nothing wrong with a well-executed classic. The prices are more or less reasonable considering the location and overall market, with bevies costing around $16. The bar staff is excellent! Very friendly and welcoming! Final verdict: A spot where I can say come for the drinks and stay for the vibe. It's the kind of place where walking in you are transported a century into the past. Everything about the experience, including the atmosphere, drinks, service, and prices, is calling me to return and bring some people with me.
