I just wanted some peace and quiet and down time while the masseuse did her thing. However, before the massage began she felt the need to inform me that she was upset because she had just broken up with her boyfriend etc etc. this immediately made me start rethinking the entire thing. Instead of the relaxed experience I'd been looking forward to, I felt the need to comfort her and play therapist for an hour. I did not leave feeling relaxed. I knew I couldn't write my review based on that first experience. So I waited and stewed a bit because I paid over $100 dollars for a massage and I left feeling even more tense and not relaxed at all. For my birthday this year, a friend presented me with a gift card for this spa and I decided to give it another shot. I went in on March 13, my appointment was scheduled for 4pm with Dakoda. He'd be giving me a deep tissue massage. During the foot soak he asked me some basic questions like the amount pressure I wanted applied and where I wanted most of the focus; which was of course my neck and shoulders. Dakoda was AMAZING! So professional and kind. I never felt at risk of being exposed or uncomfortable. He ensured the sheet kept my lady parts completely covered and he was very gentle when handling/moving my limbs to adjust. He focused heavily on my neck and shoulders and back as requested and I could feel the tension melting away. He should have those hands insured! There was no unnecessary chitchat, which I appreciated as an introvert. He's the only person I want massaging me. I am looking forward to booking with him again. I just cannot compliment him enough. All of the amenities at this spa are really nice and it's a very calm and tranquil environment. I am so glad I gave it another chance. Dakoda rescued my view/opinion of Spa Lux!

They do their booking through a third party company that talks about being able to do it in payments which i thought was a neat idea, but when I called they had no clue what I was talking about. No problem Im use to paying it all at the same time anyway. However, The day before they also called and said they had to rearrange the times of my services and they also needed me to put a $100 deposit down even though my card was already on file and I'm glad I took a picture of the receipt showing of when I did my booking showing that all money was due at service. She confirmed our services then handed us warm robes (yes they were toasty) and slides and escorted us to the locker rooms. You can do both, you don't have to pick one or the other. The foot soak was fine, nothing fancy. But relaxing. I suggest you get there early to try the sauna and foot soak. Right at our appointment time, our massage therapists came and got us and we headed to our couples massage. The massage was for 55 minutes, and it was absolutely perfect. We were in the same room and we both had ladies that were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable at all times. They checked in with us on the pressure and how we were feeling and I really appreciated that. After the massage, we both had a facial but in separate rooms. They were great! We left there feeling so clean and exfoliated. On another note- The locker rooms are gorgeous with large changing rooms, a shower, a sauna, bathroom stalls and lockers for your clothes. Along with complimentary toiletries like tampons, hair ties, makeup remover wipes and lots of nice lotions and soaps. The showers had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I did get to see the men's as well, there were no men there and it was just as nice. They also had complimentary toiletries and a stocked shower. After talking about our experience together, we decided that we wouldn't change a thing. I will give a word of advice to the ladies- the massage therapist does massage your scalp and will get massage oil in your hair so be prepared to have oily crazy hair when you are done lol. That being said, you can shower there so you can be ready for your day. All in all it was a 10/10 for us and we will definitely go back.
