I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday night. We came across this place on accident, and I'm really glad we decided to go inside. The atmosphere inside is quiet and mysterious. The decor has a lot of palm trees and African paintings, with a jungle vibe.
While the menu is a little pricey, getting the Bejajneto is definitely worth the money. At 185 sek per person, it is a bit on the expensive side, but from what I understood from the waitress, it's somewhat of an all-you-can-eat. The Bejajneto is a dish brought out for the two (or more) of you, that everyone shares. There are 6 Ethiopian dishes brought out, and you can choose to have 3 meat + 3 vegetarian, 6 vegetarian, or 6 vegan. The dishes are in 6 bowls layer out on top of sponge bread inside a very large bowl/basket. The bread is meant to be ripped and used to pick up the food in the dishes. (Unfortunately, they don't quite explain how you're supposed to eat it, but luckily I had been to an Ethiopian restaurant once before).
We ordered the meat + vegetarian Bejajneto and it was delicious. There were some chicken dishes, a few with lentils, some sort of potato curry. I'm not sure if it's the same every day they serve it, but all of the dishes were delicious.
Ethiopian food may not be everyone's preference(as I noticed in the other review), but regardless of that, the quality of the food is good, as is the service. The waitress was very helpful in explaining the things we didn't understand on the menu, and was very friendly. She didn't hover too much over the table, but was often seen nearby, so we could wave her over if we needed her.
I would definitely recommend the restaurant. It may not be much to look at on the outside, but it's a whole different story on the inside. read more
