Called for delivery and failed to deliver luckily I was paying cash or my money would have been tied up in processing a refund from my bank.

Sasha Fierce, Cecil, and Herb were phenomenal and made the entire experience even better. As a fellow Jamaican, finding authentic food that truly tastes like home can feel like finding a diamond in the rough, and Konoko delivered. I had the oxtails with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, and sweet plantains, and every bite was incredible. My friend had the curry shrimp with rice, and the ginger beer cocktail was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. It was 100% worth the trip from Virginia Beach, and we will absolutely be back. A true hidden gem.

He annoyed the hell outta me about the place with Good Music, black people , and those "good noodles". So I drove him up here and he made us lose our first table by changing his mind to order take out. (help me ) Anyways , we leave out and the door man dressed in all black says "Hey , are you leaving?". I told him my friend expected an upbeat experience and he assured us that the DJ was about to start playing shortly. So , we go back inside and we're taken upstairs to another table within 5 min. I never dined upstairs , I thought it was strictly for private parties. Anyways, our "flight attendant " introduced herself and welcomed us aboard a flight to Jamaica This Saturday night was really busy. Lots of birthdays and dinners. I usually come on Weekdays and sit at the bar. I ordered from the Likkle Plates menu with Signature Jerk Wings $17 and a side of cabbage $6. I wasn't that hungry... I been working out ‍. (Summer body loading btw) I really had this KONOKO Mocktail on mind....oh before I forget ... Serving a wide range of traditional Jamaican cuisine and catering mainly to the courthouse lunch pack, the shop is run by a really friendly Jamaican lady that will walk you through the menu and show you the wares. I asked for some spicy noise to pound back the cold Bmore winds. She recommended the goat curry platter ($8.50) which came on a bed of red beans and rice with a side of steamed cabbage and a few slices of fried plantain. The goat curry was delicious. Tender hunks of goat meat served on the bone were well flavored but not spicy at all. The sauce was great and well-textured but sadly, the red beans and rice were disappointingly flavorless. It left me trying to ration my bites with sauce and meat to flavor all the rice. The fried plantains on the other hand were the best I've ever had. Slightly gummy from caramelization on the outside, tender and smooth inside, they beat any weak bananas I ate on Spanish III field trips or even in Costa Rica. I definately will give this place another go, the jerk chicken looked ridiculous. Give this place a shot, just make sure your beans and rice get sauced up good and try 'em plaintains.

I have consistently had bad luck with local Caribbean spots so for a lunch deal under 13 dollars; I will see first if it looks edible, smells fresh, and tastes fit to eat before I tip in the future. As soon as I opened the container (very heavy) the sauce looked too silky and dark to be a stew. It looks like motor oil. The temperature was hot. There was no taste at all to the sauce. The rice or veggies gave an old smell. I believe it was the rice because it was lumpy when you get through past the black sauce. There were some lettuce cut strips that were translucent. The chicken was tender and did not taste old/reheated a few times. I am so disappointed. I wish I would have read the reviews. I should have went to Wawa for a sandwich, they never disappoint.

I appreciate that the food is made to order -- it was piping hot! My only gripe is the fact that I replaced my rice with mac and cheese (which costs extra according to the website) and my order was wrong. The cabbage and jerk chicken were alright, but I was disappointed to see rice instead of mac and cheese. I would recommend checking your food before leaving to avoid this issue from occurring. The food selection is pretty cooked and on display. (Makes for easy ordering process). The food seems to be authentic. The beef patty was nice and flaky with a nice ratio of beef. The jerk chicken delicious. But that's about all. The side dishes (cabbage and spinach) were bland and could use some spices (salt, pepper, seasoning). I didn't like the fact you got 2 pieces of chicken for the jerk dinner $13plus . Only a leg and thigh. That's not fulfilling or a good price. I think the dinner portion should be bigger and then maybe you can increase the cost.

She bought jerk chicken with rice and peas. As always, this place is always jumping! We came on a weekday, during the lunch hour. Although, we called our orders in beforehand, there was still a wait. This is kind of normal, so if you're in a hurry, you may be a bit frustrated. They definitely take their time. My friend asked for peppers to top her food with. What I assumed would be a quick 1-2 minute task seemed like almost ten minutes! After about 20 minutes, our orders were ready. This is NOT a dine in restaurant. It's a fairly small place. Although there's a small table with two chairs in the corner, this isn't a really place to sit and enjoy your food. You'd be more comfortable eating in your car. We grabbed our food and left, opting to eat at a nearby park. It was a beautiful spring day- a perfect setting to eat our lunch. Both of our dishes were absolutely delicious! So delicious that I forgot to snap a picture! Lol! The chicken in my brown stew chicken dish was sooo delightfully tender! The sauce was mildly sweet and flavorful. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her meal very much & vowed to come back. If you live in the Towson area and have a taste for some pretty good Caribbean food, Island Quizine will take care of you!

I always get the same thing but my husband has ventured to the Caribbean menu and has gotten oxtails the size of his palm, twice- going above and beyond is clearly they're M O. The goat is always so perfectly cooked, flavorful and more than enough to last the whole meal. They really add a new meaning to Baltimore eating for me and I'm so grateful! Kudos to the owner for being such a delight! I ordered jollof rice with chicken and a beef patty (of course). Both were excellent but I have to shower the jollof rice with praise. As a Nigerian American, the struggle to find good jollof is real. I have to say that this Ghanian style jollof was quite good. I immediately ate the beef patty which by far was the best of my meal. It was flaky and tasty. I then ate the coco bread which was soft and satisfying. When I got home I indulged in the main meal and sadly was disappointed. The rice was dry, the cabbage was plain/tasteless and the jerk was not good. I have had a hard time getting authentic cooked carribean/jamaican food. Its so commercialized and missing steps and seasoning.
