I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Ocean Storage. I was expecting a seedy, poorly lit building with many people hanging around. However, it is modern and located right off of 17. You can only open the sliding doors with a code, and there are dollys in the entryway if needed. The elevator is big enough to accommodate a large bed or mattress. There are many units still available for rent, and they come in multiple sizes. On top of great service, they also are giving half off for the first three months. My parents are picky about where they will leave their items, but they have nothing but positive things to say about Ocean Storage!

Customer service was okay, the truck was in decent condition, the equipment we'd reserved was available immediately upon pick up. We tried the online pick up / reservation to get ahead of any line that could be there in the morning, but that didn't work. With that said, they moved through the line very quickly and we were out of there in 10 minutes. Only down side was there was no parking available for non U-Haul vehicles. Check out upon return was very smooth, no extras, no unforeseen or hidden costs attached, so all in all a pretty successful move for us. I felt secure storing my belongings here, although I checked monthly for peace of mind. My unit was on the second floor, and it was surprisingly easy to access when moving belongings in and out. The elevators are large and the facility is equipped with multiple carts for renters. Overall, it was very clean and the climate control is a big plus for me. I am giving this facility a four out of five because the rent skyrocketed every year. They had steady payments coming in from me every month - Why risk losing your renters? Jenn at the front desk always fought for me, but in the end I just couldn't justify the increases anymore. I also couldn't set up automatic payments (not sure if that changed), so it made me paranoid to make sure I had paid every month. There were no trash cans, not even a small one outside. For as much money as we are spending you would think they would make a trash can available. Either way, I recommend this place for a short period of time if you're looking for security and cleanliness. Otherwise, expect annual rent increases.

I went over to the Hampton facility to buy some as they stated I should only to have the other young lady say to me oh is market value by the way she was present during a time manager stated to me that if it should go up to contact them for assistance I feel that I was trapped now I have to find a way to bring my things back to Hampton into another storage unit and it will be Extra Space Storage.
