I loved chatting with her, albeit brief since I had places to go. Most of all, I really needed to feel good about myself. No one wants to go to receive laser hair removal- it clearly means you have too much hair!! I'm middle aged...no longer a youthful hottie...I've had a kid and 4 years later still have the baby weight...and this gem of a human paid me the best doppelgänger . Reason for 4 stars: really kind technicians, sensitive to client when it comes to pain and nakedness. Very trans-friendly. Never had an issue with payment and, at the time I started, had best deals I could find. Outcome: i went here for 3.5 years (2017-2021) and had every part of my body lasered (full body package). Only received laser for the full 3.5 years. Full body package lasted a year and some change. It's important to note I'm white and have brown hair. Also important to note that I'm a transwoman and went on estrogen around this time, which subtly thins existing body hair over a few years. FACE: Had full, thickish, brown facial hair growing consistently throughout, lip, chin, cheek, sideburn, neck. It's 2022 now. Light, wispy, short, blonde hairs have replaced my sideburn area. Barely anything on my lip or cheeks. Most of my neck is gone or light and wispy. I'm now having some (10-25) thin, weak, brown hairs growing slowly amongst my upper neck, chin, and cheek. They are quickly dispatched with a regular razor once a week. TORSO: as I said above, I had thick brown hairs, though I was moderately covered with them on my torso. My chest hair is now completely unnoticeable, except for a few small nipple hairs. My stomach has a couple light brown, thin wispy hairs that aren't that noticeable and easily shaved, but I don't care as much anymore. ARMPITS: these were an ouchie spot. I haven't shaved in over a year. There are a handful of very thin, light blonde-to-brown hairs. It'd be simple to shave them but they're so unnoticeable I don't bother. ARMS/HANDS: I had medium-thick brown hairs fully, but not densely, covering my forearms and back of hand. Some little brown hairs on my upper arm. Except for the hairs that grew out around my forearm tattoos (which they can't laser over), I'm more hairless than almost everyone I know. Centimeter-long, white-to-blonde hairs, thin, and more sparse. Haven't shaved in over a year. BUTT: I had light, weaker brown hair, fully covering my butt and onto my lower back. I haven't noticed it since finishing my time there. Reaching back now, I can feel some hair, but it's similar to my arms in thinness, etc. LEGS: I had thick, darker brown hairs here before. Full coverage. I would impulsively pluck them as an anxiety thing and the roots were strong. Now it's similar to my face. Most of it is thin, light, wispy. Much more sparse. I haven't shaved in 4 months and there's 30-50 individual hairs that are a darker brown, longer than the others, but still thinner and with a weaker root (which makes shaving them effortless) FEET: before I had a little bit of longer, light brown hair. It gone now. GENITALS: For some reason, the hair here is more resilient. I had bottom surgery near the end of my time going here, so I received laser with both sets of parts. It was vital that the hair be fully removed from this area for my surgery, so I was doubling up laser with electrolysis (more permanent but 20x more painful). So my current results reflect a combination of electrolysis and laser. Where electrolysis didn't touch, such as the triangle between the waistband and the genitals, the hair is much more sparse, but still fairly dark and long. The hair on the genitals themselves are mostly still dark brown, but sparser. Went from very thick, strong roots to moderately thick, with thin roots. The rest of my genitals that received laser and electrolysis that are no longer seen because I turned my outie into an innie, I obviously can't observe it anymore. But my surgeon cleared me for surgery and during my checkups, she hasn't mentioned anything about hair growing inside causing complications. During these treatments, technicians were gentle when literally handling my genitals, before and after. Wore gloves for all of the treatments (and masks during the first several months of the pandemic; don't know about now). Reason for 1-star reduction: in my 3.5 years there, they burned me once on my genitals. I believe it was done by a newer technician. The store manager called me a handful of times to check-in on me once I reported the burn. She gave me care instructions for the area and reduced my next session cost by a healthy amount. I still kept coming back. Qualifications: it's been a year since I've been there and I lasted longer as a client than most of my technicians. I'm not sure why they leave, but it's important to note that the people you will be treated by are most likely not the people I was treated by, except the store manager, perhaps. Even with those qualifications, the store culture, the technology, the outcome, and the costs, when I went there, are still great reasons for me to happily recommend Affordable Laser. read more

Snapped up a GroupOn for this place a few weeks ago and stopped in on Saturday (dangit! Forgot to check in!) for my first appointment. It's a small place on the 2nd floor (no elevators), but very well maintained. Employees & technicians are friendly and chatty and the place is very clean & well-lit with music, great-smelling candles & posh couches in the waiting room. Services are quick, relatively painless (well, for me) and they seem to have great prices. They will also match any GroupOn offers for competitors. Everyone was very professional and the little things (like checking the hall before they open the door & exit so no one catches a glimpse of anything they shouldn't) are much appreciated. I'll be back. Oh - in case you're wondering - it's located on the wash side of the building with the signs that say "If you officed here, you'd be home by now." I went in today for my second session, which I feel might be my last bc I might not need anymore :) The first picture will be of my before sideburn hair, the second one is a couple of days afterwards (I exfoliate a couple of times after the first couple of days bc hair was still "falling out") and the last picture was of me before my second session. The procedure itself stings. I am not sure if it's bc it's a sensitive area or my perception of the pain. I didn't have numbing cream, I asked and was told bc it's such a small area it didn't make sense but ok I took the session "oh natural", pain is beauty right. Anyways, I wished I would have done this YEARS ago, oh and it's super cheap $60 a session (for a small area) and go up from there. I have tried two different laser companies. The first was American Laser Centers. These people burned my skin. Bad. I sued them and got my money back. Plus they gave me some free Mederma (they keep this stuff at the front desk, like it's common). I won a 6 treatment session at Affordable Laser through the La Encantada women's fair. It was free, so I went through with it. This time the hair actually started to grow back thinner after the first treatment. I never experienced burns or even prolonged pain (it hurts when the thing zaps you but then it goes away). As far as customer service goes, these ladies are wonderful. Getting appointments is a breeze, most of the time they can accommodate you the day of. The prices for non-lotto winners are the best around and they have constant promotions going on (just call and ask). read more

I started doing laser procedures since October 2017 and I took a full package of the whole body for $ 99. And this is the best price I've found for myself, compared to other similar companies. I can say that I am very satisfied with the quality of service. The office is clean and comfortable, the procedures are held at the appointed time, waiting for a long time is not necessary. While waiting in the office, you hear pleasant music, you will be offered water, sweets, and you can browse through the magazines. The schedule of procedures is very flexible and convenient for every client, the office is open from morning till evening, and also on Saturday. There is no queue, I've been going to the procedures for a long time and in the office I almost never came across other clients. The staff is female, professional and very friendly, the girls try to make the procedures pleasant and take care of the comfort of the customers. I have to do about half of the prescribed laser procedures and in some places, for example, on the lower leg, this is very painful for me. Also there is a small bikini area where I also felt pain. But it's worth it to suffer a little, because right now I can say that I forgot when I last shaved my legs, armpits or bikini area! But in other places, the pain is not at all and the procedures are very fast in time, even if you are making large areas, for example completely legs. Hair grows slowly and they are now so thin and light that they are not visible on the skin! The skin on my legs and in all other places where the laser touched became soft and silky, I can not believe as yet not long ago I was tormented with the problem of extra hair! :) I hope that soon the moment will come that they will cease to grow at all, but even what I see now quite suits me! :) I advise everyone who has the same problems as I had, quickly call the office and set the time for your first procedure .. :) read more

I was a previous paitent and needed to get my face redone because apparently facial hair is hormonal. When I mentioned it was my second time in for facial treatments , the staff, McKenna, said I need to see my doctor and get my hormones checked like she is a doctor or something. I went for my first treatment last month and none of the staff were wearing mask, but I made a follow up and 3 hours before my appt she tells me that my fee is going to be from $89 to $179. It was not busy when I got there so I didn't have to wait that long. READ THIS BEFORE GOING HERE! Somehow my previous review got taken down... So we know this place tries to censor bad reviews. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the other reviews are fake. Anyway, I was supposed to be a great candidate due to dark hair and light skin, and after 8 treatments and ~$800 things were looking pretty good. However, 9 months later, nearly all the hair had grown back. So I call them up, and they say, "The effects are about as long-lasting as waxing. No refunds." If they had said that during the initial consultation, I would never have walked back in the door. Why? Because it is about 3x as expensive as waxing and significantly more painful. But no, in the consultation, they said that the effects were fairly permanent except that you'd have to come in for a touch up now and again since new follicles can start growing where they didn't exist before. Well, to me, basically starting from scratch after 8 treatments and less than a year is nothing in the realm of permanent. That is not a touch up. To their credit, they offered a discount on an additional treatment after I complained, but why bother going for another treatment if it's more painful than waxing, way more expensive, and just as temporary? It doesn't make any sense. Plus I was about to move anyway, so all I wanted was some money refunded due to the expectations that they set and did not meet. If they'd even just refunded the last 1-2 treatments I would have left a reasonably happy customer. At least then we'd have given it a try. But they didn't offer a single penny back. I am a business owner too, and when I have an unhappy customer, I offer a refund. It's that simple. I wish this place did the same. read more

The laser did hurt... a lot, so I would definitely expect some pain and definitely take them up on their offer of numbing cream, but I'm happy with my results and happy I did it. Yeah this place was pretty much a BIG BIG BIG waste of money. I was supposedly a perfect candidate for this procedure: Light skin with very dark hair. I am of Greek descent so naturally I have a bunch of hair. I had a bunch of treatments done with no results. I had many more than 6 treatments in each area I had done. I cannot stress how useless this procedure was. Yes the hair fell out after treatments BUT it all CAME BACK. All you have to do is wait and you will see the results are not permanent. They used the GentleLASE Plus - Alexanderite Laser By Candela. So I tried other methods...electrolysis: Flash, Blend, and Galvanic. The best method was Galvanic Electrolysis ....the oldest method of permanent hair removal. I used one of those home units (the ones with the probe/needle that delivers galvanic electrolysis) and saved myself a TON of $$$$$. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and do it yourself or find an experienced knowledgeable electrologist. If you do it yourself research prior to jumping in. Getting laser performed is basically paying someone a bunch of money to shave your body/face for you... if you like that sort of thing laser may be for you : p read more

I have never left a review on Yelp but DO NOT COME HERE. This had nothing to do with COVID -they were taking precautions for cleanliness HOWEVER...first off, this place is not affordable. SECOND, THE WHOLE PLACE SMELLS LIKE BURNING HAIR. I have had over 15 laser treatments done and have never had a bad experience. I decided to try this new place as it had been 6 weeks and was unable to go to my place at home. I read the reviews and was excited. Walking in, the staff was friendly. I filled out an extensive amount of paperwork,but I was a new client so understandable. I then had to watch a long video about lasering. THIS SUCKED. I finally went in to the room and got ready to get lasered and the first zap was SO PAINFUL that I had tears in my eyes. I told myself maybe it was just the first one, but then the second one hurt even worse. I made them stop and I left as my body could not take it. I asked her why it hurt this bad and here answer was "We have the best machines". I then talked to my ladies who work at my laser place at home and they said that there machines aren't medical grade. But WHO KNOWS! All I can say is I've never had this experience in my life and I am VERY tolerant of pain. AFTER, I had HIVES on the area, SWOLLEN HIVES! This had NEVER HAPPENED TO ME. I've had 3 treatments on my lip and chin area, my bikini line and my underarms here, and so far the results have been quite good. My technician was Amber, and if I were to need additional services I'd want it to be her again. She always tried to make it as pain free or quick a treatment as possible, and her technique of overlapping the treatment area as she worked seems to get great results. The facilities are great and they've gotten a lot better about answering their phone or getting back to you after you've had to leave them a voicemail. I'd go there again for sure. read more

Love this place I am SO pleased with the results so far! I will definitely be back and plan on doing my legs in the future. I had actually given up on the idea of ever being able to stop shaving under my arms after trying two places in the past long ago with no results after several treatments and explained my concerns to the staff when I got there. The staff was very understanding ( and professional since I mentioned the place in town I had tried in the past and although they validated me they did not say anything negative about the other company which I thought was top shelf ) I was shown a video and explained how the procedure was done and how they would set the Laser for my comfort and level of effectiveness etc. And Viola! I'm already seeing results I would recommend them to anybody that has not had it done ever or has been less than happy with other agencies. I went to Affordable Laser last week and had my first session with Tania. She was very comforting and filled with information that I needed. . I asked a lot of questions. The entire staff is filled with smiles and was happy to see me. The building is beautiful and well maintained. I didn't have to wait, I was taken right away. The room was clean and everything she used was unwrapped in front of me to ensure sanitation. I was looking at reviews before posting mine and was disappointed in a review for a previous writer, but I felt that post was to be dismissed due to her other reviews that were mainly negative towards everywhere she went. I have tried laser hair removal at another salon and was very disappointed as the aesthetician only zapped my skin three times and said we were all done. Well, I've seen this procedure on u-tube and am aware that you have to cover the entire treatment area with individual zaps. The staff at Afford. Laser are friendly and professional, the office appears to be clean and up-to-date, and the aesthetician seemed to know what she was doing. I wouldn't say it didn't hurt in some spots, but it is a super quick procedure (bikini). I've had one treatment and 4 weeks later my hair has barely started growing back in. I love this place!! I went to simplicity and they're awful. as a comparison simplicity sets your first apt at the lowest setting. guess whose hair falls out on the lowest setting? no ones. So you waste an entire first visit. Also they work up to the highest setting so if you don't say something you'll be on low settings all of your treatments. you could buy a 200 piece of crap hair remover at ulta and get better results. Secondly they don't tell you this so you go in and feel nothing and assume thats how it's suppose to be. I'm so thankful i went to both to know that affordable laser is better. I went to simplicity because they had a groupon next time i'll just save my money. I had already went to affordable laser for my first leg treatment, and the person was detailed and took her time. my legs were red and splotchy but the next day there wasnt any new hair growth and three weeks later my legs are smoother then ever. i usually need to shave twice a day. I did underarms and brazilian at simplicity and was out of there in 15 minutes. I was really unsure upon leaving and told her that it didn't hurt at all and that was very quick. Also my friend went to idea image and she paid a whopping 4000. for legs. oh but they give 9 treatments, but everything ive read online says you only need 6 to get a 90% reduction. I saw a groupon and thought I would try it, they are in a bldg with no sign. You have an appointment for consult than you must return for the actual procedure...most inefficient practice. Not a standard practice in this service. After calling 3 times Alyssa for directions, she never informs me that she is going to cancel my appointment. After I arrive and she has me fill out 4 pages of waivers and history. Alyssa still never says anything regarding rescheduling the appointment, 30 minutes in the waiting room. After reviewing the forms she decides to tell me in a sarcastic tone. She also tells me that she will not need a consult...we can just go ahead and do the procedure. The change in procedure, wasting my time and her sarcastic and rude behavior sends me a sharp go and stay away. They are frequently on groupon because they cannot keep clients!
