I can get to downtown Minneapolis in 15 minutes, downtown St. Paul in 20 minutes, 694 in 2 minutes.... The property is owned by Mateer Properties. They own three or so other apartment complexes in the area. I highly recommend them and highly recommend this property. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to live here and hope the next tenants have as good of an experience as I have had.

The neighbors stomping all hours of the day and night into the early am hours is vibrating our apartment to the extent we have to sleep with ear plugs and have 4 fans running just to try and drown out the noise and vibrations. We are not the only ones either. We can't even have glass in our cabinets in the kitchen due to vibrations.. We also had a gas leak in our furnace that filled our whole apartment with natural gas. It took over a week to get sorted out and was leaking for our first two months. Be careful and read the whole 75 page lease. They can pretty much have any reason to enter your apartment. We have been entered 6 times for inspections and maintenance in our first 2 months. Also add roughly another $180 to your monthly bill for their common allocation, media package, pest control, sewer, trash, water and service fees. This does not include your gas and electricity or the extra $60 garage parking space. They want close to $8000 with two months notice to break the lease. I would think since these conditions are unacceptable and unethical they would be more understanding. This is more than just apartment living noise and disturbance.

However, they have a major parking problem, and the management has outright refused to address the issue. Their solution: Pay $50 a month extra for a garage (if you own a full-sized pickup it won't fit) to ensure you have off street parking. Even now (2/20/19) I've been told there's a waitlist for garages. Parking here is NOT controlled. They give you a parking pass, but this is just window dressing. The parking lots are for everyone's use (residents, off lease people living here, friends, and even random people). In winter the property management hires a vendor to plow the snow in the lots. The problem is they plow it in to parking spaces. In the lot in front of my building we've already lost 10 spaces to snow storage. The lot is commonly full by 7:00 PM and, if you leave, you're likely going to have to park on the street and take your chances with getting a ticket (like several residents 3 days ago). Still the management refuses to act to ensure residents have a place to park, or even enforce parking of residents only (and give guests temp parking passes or a few spaces in each lot). Don't take my word for it, ask the following questions when calling or on your tour: 1. Is there enough parking to ensure residents can find parking off-street? 2. Is parking an issue in the winter? 3. If I can't find a place to park when I arrive, and it's a snow emergency, where do I park? Finally, STOP and ask residents themselves before you go in or as you leave. They'll confirm what this review states.

He has absolutely NO business acumen! If someone lodges a complaint against you, he sends an accusatory email to you without asking for "your side of the story". In short, not only that, but he obviously needs way more training than he has, not only him, but his direct report, Brandon, as well. Approximately 5 months ago, I received my monthly YES ENERGY bill. Just out of curiosity, I asked Aaron and Brandon, "what exactly am I using in MY APARTMENT" that relates to the "NATURAL GAS" charge? To date, they have NOT been able to answer my question. So I also discovered that my 2nd year LEASE did NOT contain the 3rd party YES ENERGY "ADDENDUM" in my LEASE, so consequently, after pushing back on my initially unanswered question, I was CREDITED back all charges related to that bill in its entirety!!!! UMMM - I also found out that several other tenants, after I asked the question, which to date has NEVER been ANSWERED, have received their monthly YES ENERGY bill...BUT THE "NATURAL GAS CHARGE" has BEEN REMOVED!!!!!!!! I don't have to:::: WONDER WHY....I do wonder...HOW LONG HAVE TENANTS BEEN BILLED FOR THIS CHARGE!!!!?????? The things I liked were the facilities, nice gym, outdoor pool, dog wash area, and an elegant common room area. The things that I did not like about the building was that the staff seemed to only care about themselves and not really the residents. I had a few issues which I felt like when I would go to the staff about the answers were rude and not reassuring. I had issues of my packages being torn open, taped back together, and missing items. You pay a $500 cleaning fee when moving in but then I am still charged for tiny stains that the building says they were able to get out of the carpet. Which I should not be charged extra for unless it was not removable. What was the point of paying a $500 cleaning fee in the first place. It puts your mind at ease but then after moving out you find out they will charge you for something that can be fixed. When I first moved in on move in day, they messed up the scheduling to reserve my loading zone time which left a bad taste in my mouth as soon as I moved in. I had signed my lease 6 months before move in and after a month of waiting I wanted to cancel, but they wouldn't let me unless I paid ridiculous fees. Which the building was not even open yet and my unit not even built yet, so there should have been an easier way since it was still many months ahead. I've lived at other Luxury apartments before and for what you pay at Loden I would say is 50% worth it. The amenities are the winner. But, having to deal with staff, and all the policies it is not that great. Also, having to worry about your mail is really stressful. All in all, I didn't want to move here, but was stuck into the lease. I made the most of my experience while there, but there were definitely issues along the way.

As a young single woman, I always felt safe here (at least from people). So there is that. However, I was on a ground level apartment, and I had two windows that I could never lock myself. I did bring this up with management, but they sent two maintenance men to force it shut and lock it. I could never do this myself. After a few times, I stopped asking and put a board up to feel more security, but I still wanted fresh air from time to time. Outside of that, my one-star review is primarily for the following two-reasons: 1. Mold 2. Dust Mold: On three separate occasions, I had mold in my ceiling and they had to take a chunk out of the ceiling to patch it up. These were caused by pipes bursting or a washing machine leaking. Twice was in the bathroom, and once in the 2nd bedroom. Pipes appear to be bursting all over this building as you walk through the hallways, you can see some odd-colored patches on the ceiling and tacks holding up the wall paper. I came home from a vacation once and found my closet was moist and water dripping down the walls. On another occasion in the same bedroom closet, I noticed that the carpet was soaked again and I could hear water running behind the walls. They were very slow to fix the mold in bathroom, even though I called and messaged multiple times and was concerned for my health. The first time I experienced the issue, I was even corrected by the office that it wasn't mold, it was mildew (she said this without coming to look first). Regardless, it needed to be fixed. I saw a range of colors from pink to tan to black to green growing on my ceiling. During this period, my hairline began to recede. While I can't really know if the mold had anything to do with it, I wouldn't be surprised. While hair loss has never been a problem for women in my family, I went to the doctor to confirmed the hair loss. Fortunately, now that I've moved out, it appears to be filling back in. I was so worried it was just me and it would never come back! Also, I've never lived anywhere that was dustier in my life. Dust would accumulate after just one week like the item had been abandoned for two years- even a can of soup that I bought the week prior! For some of my clothing that I was not wearing often (like my nice suits), they were lined with dust on the shoulders. I had to rinse out my Tupperware each time I used it because it would have lines of dust. When I moved out, I washed all my clothing since they all had this gritting dusty feel to it. I do not think this is healthy, and air flow is very poor during the winter months. I'm not sure it's good to breath that in all the time. There is definitely more I could say, but I feel this is enough for a 1-star review. Safe from crime standpoint, but I'm not sure if it's safe for health there. After a full year, I left. They did issue me a rental credit of $100 for my troubles, which was laughably about as little as you could do. I had sent an e-mail that presented my understanding of the rent credit, but I never heard a response. I called to ask about this "rent credit" piece after I received the deposit. Her snappy response hurt after all I went through, and I was always so nice and understanding about it all when perhaps I should not have been. At least here, I can warn others.
