Walked in in need of stitches at 2:30PM on a Sunday. Was met by a friendly and seemingly helpful Jennifer who, when told what I was there for, advised me it'd be about an hour wait and if I wanted I could sign in, go home and she'd call when I was the next in line. We both seemed to agree that waiting in a room full of glassy eyed, coughing people for something like stitches was not optimal. She asked for my license and insurance info, made copies of them and wrote my cell phone number on the sheet. She highlighted in yellow marker all the info on their registration form for me to fill out while I was at home and that was it. All was well. I drove the 5 minute ride home and went about my business. About 3:45, after not receiving a call, I decided to check in to see what the status was. The man who answered, kind of vague on all matters, including where my name stood on the waiting list, told me nonetheless that there were about two people ahead of me and I'd best get in so they could register me in advance. I drove over to find him clueless as to who I was and unable to find the photocopies of my license and insurance info. Then in walked Jennifer who, without the slightest hint of embarrassment or guilt told me she'd shredded my paperwork because, you know, "a lot of people don't come back"... "out of concern for my privacy".... blah, blah , blah. [Never mind the fact that she obviously hadn't even called me before shredding my paperwork]. So photocopies of my license and insurance into were made again. I sat down and waited for those "couple of people" to be taken before I was called. An hour and a quarter and six patients later, with people across from me coughing into the open air, I was still waiting for my name to be called. I overheard one woman frustratingly tell another that, on the other side of the door that I couldn't seem to get through, there were people sitting outside numerous rooms waiting to be called in. Her son, she said, had been in there an hour. All the while, I repeatedly kept hearing Jennifer tell one person after another that there was about an hour-long wait and if they'd let her photocopy their info and give her their telephone number, they could wait in the car or go home and she'd call when they were ready to be called in. Keep in mind now that it was after 5PM and she was telling all who inquired that the clinic closed at 6PM. I decided to walk over and verify exactly where I stood. I asked if I was next and was assured with a straight face that I was. So I waited about 10 minutes more for the moment almost 3 hours in the making, the calling of my name. Finally, the door opened and the nurse called..... the name of the girl who had been sitting across from me for an hour and a half coughing without her hand over her face. Now Jennifer could justifiably shred my paperwork because I'd had enough of the lying and waiting and left. "Doctors Express" - a saying almost as cynically untrue and oxymoronic as the sign outside of Auschwitz: "Arbeit macht frei". Got a day to utterly and totally waste while being lied to in a veritable germ factory, without any guarantee of being seen at the end of the day? Doctors Express is your place. You know, the Emergency Room of a hospital is no great shake but at least you won't be deluded or knowingly misled as to how long you'll be there... and at least they're open all night should you really need care. If you choose to ignore all the warnings about this place, don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting all afternoon at "Doctors Express" and then all night at the Emergency Room. My advice: unless you're there early, save your time and go straight to the emergency room. You're likely going to end up there anyway. At least you'll be much, much higher up on the waiting list come evening time. read more

This place is a joke and does not care about treating patients. We showed up at 8:03 pm as my husband was sik and had a horrible rash, the girl came to the dorr and told a they close at 8... We begged and she said sorry you are 3 min late and laughed at us as she walked away. I would never recommend this crap hole to anyone. NEVER go to this AFC Urgicare center in Paramus @ 67c Ridgewood ave . After waiting fir over an hour to be seen and then asking the receptionist how much longer she states idk. I asked if she could please just check, reluctantly she asks and tells me & my daughter (who was to be seen ) 1/2-45 min more approx. As the office was freezing cold we said we were going to get Starbucks @ PP and brb, she tells me that the next person in line would be taken if not back when a room is free, I say I understand of course and leave with the receptionist still retaining my $10 co pay. Upon returning 7 min later approx we find that the doors are locked and begin to knock & then bang on the door for a bit, thinking that they locked it so as to not let any more patients in. Finally a nurse comes to the door and tells me my daughter can't be seen !!! I said we waited for over an hour and told the receptionist we'd brb and never said that we couldn't be seen if after 8 then we wouldn't have left and btw mysteriously the 1/2-40 min wait that she gave me as an estimate ...the remaining patients were all taken in the 7 min we took .... So now I ask for my Depo back and the nurse says wait here again locking me and my teenage dght out in the cold ...we wait and wait and no one comes to give me the co pay back. We get in my car and I call the police. Lovely officer comes and asks them for my money and they say they gave it back to me ! I say my daughter was right by my side and they did not give it back to me as I was coming right back, ALSO if they had given me the $ where's the copy of my receipt that I never received ...get this they don't give you a receipt if you give cash ! Have you ever heard all this crap. I come to have my daughter seen and this is how the treat you seeking medical help ???! So now I have to go to the police station to request they look @ the cameras to prove that she hadn't returned my money. So waisted 2 hours, hungry, supper left on the table as I took her straight from dance as she was in pain and was never seen, harassed, money taken, treated unprofessionally and lied to and lied about the disgusting treatment given ....I'm in total shock as is my daughter ....disgusting ! read more

CAUTION ---- stay away!!! Very disappointing and dismissive visit for an earache. Extremely rude (front desk) teeny bopper staff. the front desk clerk, probably all of 20 yrs old, spoke to me as if i was stupid for asking a question about the co-pay. I waited just long enough for them to charge my card for the visit. Saw the doctor maybe 45 seconds total, who sent me away and instructed I take OTC allergy medicine. He wanted me to return in a few days (for yet another office visit charge). I explained that i had been exposed to someone who had a nasty viral infection and that i believed i had the same symptoms given i woke up two days later with pain and same symptoms. Guess what, the second doctor i visited the very next day confirmed that i did have an infection and provided antibiotics. I feel the doctor at urgent care was dismissive and only hoping for a return visit to make more money for the office. Heaven only knows what they charged my insurance co for that 10 second exam. My husband and I and our grandson have used this facility on three separate occasions. I have never had to wait more than one hour, which I consider reasonable. UPDATE:I called and spoke with Rachel, who had seen my Yelp review. She volunteered that the weekend staff did not communicate well with me, and re-iterated that they do function primarily as a walk-in clinic. She offered to have us return to get our immunizations; we aimed for a time when they were less likely to have many walk-ins (Fri at 5.) We did get our shots within an hour and I was charged only for the shots and not for the visit (which I had paid for the first time.) These staff (different people than those we saw on our first visit) were careful to tell us what they were doing at every step. If you use this clinic for travel immunizations, try to schedule at a time when their traffic tends to be low, and allow yourself extra time in case they are busy. read more

I had to go the ER for my son. then of course I got a bill because they dont take my insurance, I paid in installments. they didnt put the last one in and immediately sent me to collections. it was there mistake. This urgent Care Clinic has courteous, kind professionals in the office as well as on the phone. The staff is soft and patient. The lab technician and the nurse were very kind and professional.My daughter and I were seen by Dr. B and by Dr Dessau, both very personable and dynamic. I am planning to keep Dr Dessau as my doctor. The doctors and nurses here are very nice and professional, however the receptionist is AWFUL! (Middle aged woman with reddish blonde hair) I had to visit this location several times for a worker's comp situation and EVERY time I came the receptionist would greet me coldly and in a rude voice. Each time she would make me feel extremely uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong by being there. Really, I don't understand why they would have someone so rude greet patients. The last time I had to go before being discharged a nurse called me and asked that I come back "any day during the week" to see the doctor once more. I showed up AS I WAS INSTRUCTED, and the receptionist took one look at me before I even was able to sign in and said that I didn't have an appointment and my file was put away and closed. I explained that I was called by a nurse to come in, and she rolled her eyes at me. Plus, you don't need an appointment for urgent care! Her attitude is one that 100% made my experience so frustrating. I would spend the entire time sitting in the waiting room feeling angry and annoyed, which I don't think is fair for a patient to feel. Even though the doctors are extremely nice, I'd recommend the Hillsdale location over Paramus as the receptionists there are pleasant. read more

Waited over 2 hours just to fill out paperwork, they told me an hour. I asked them how much longer before I would be seen and they told me it would take 20 minutes..... It took me another hour. Either they are dishonest with their timing or unrealistic. Either way, expect to wait hours. read more

I was in Paramus for work and got sick but had only 45 minutes to get in be seen I got seen right away. The front desk lady was lovely. The med tech was very helpful and took me back five minutes after I was checked in. The doctor came in shortly there after. He was an actual MD not a PA and was friendly and very professional. They did quick labs and orders medications and I was out. I got a call the next day by the doctor to see how I was doing and with other lab results. Even though I was from out of state they treat me any different than if I had been local. It didn't feel like I went to an urgent care. It feel like a real doctors office and treated as if I was a longtime patient. I would strongly encourage others to come here I was in a pinch I was so happy that the urgent care I randomly picked was this one. read more

Place was clean, staff was friendly and knowledgable. Doctor was great-professional and was very caring. Was in and out in less then 35 minutes with a diagnosis and prescription. I needed to get vaccinations for my nursing program and went to Doctors Express in Paramus. I specifically asked three different employees how much all the shots would cost and how much, if I needed to pay, would come out of my pocket. No one knew what to tell me so one of the employees said I'd be paying $60.00 max after being covered by my insurance (Bollinger). Starting January 2013, I started receiving "Patient's total responsibiltiy" bills in the mail. So far, all the bills added together comes out to be almost $2000.00. I called Doctor's Express because I strongly believe that the billing codes were submitted incorrectly. After getting stupid explanations from an employee that had no idea what she was saying, I finally got through to someone in charge of billing. She said she would look into my case and call me back in a couple of days. It has already been over two weeks and I'm still waiting for a call. I receive bills for my shots every other day. NO ONE in this office cares about giving you the right information. It's all about over-charging patients as long as they get paid. Very dishonest. I will fight this and advise every person I know NEVER to go there unless this office guarantees a written statement or outline of your bill prior to going through with any procedure. read more

Was there just today and can't thank the staff and doctor enough. I have suffered from ear wax for ears. Sometimes, I can't hear when it builds up and up. I have had my ears flushed many times in my life. This was the first time that my ears were flushed and I did not feel dizzy. The staff was fast and the doctor was gentle and efficient ( i don't recall her name, but I think it started with a Dr. C). Anyway, I can hear and am not dizzy. Thank you so much! On 7/10, I was over 30 weeks pregnant and experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection. I went to Doctors Express that morning to be seen and a urine culture was taken. It came back negative and I was sent on my way. Fast forward five days, and I get a call from the Dr. saying I actually did have a UTI. At this point I had already been seen by my regular OB during the week. Anyway, the Dr. prescribed me a z-pack. This sounded suspicious to me as those are usually used to treat respiratory infections. Because of this, I asked the office to fax the report from Labcorp, which they did. I called my primary doctor's office (Forest Healthcare) and my OB (Valley Center for Women's Health) who both informed me that according to the report I did not have any sort of infection and IF I did the proper course of treatment would certainly not be a z-pack. My Dr. even referred to it as malpractice and I was advised to definitely not take the prescribed medication. The following week, I called into the office manager to tell her what happened and that I wanted my copay back. It took a couple of days but she called me back and was initially responsive and apologetic and said that it shouldn't be a problem and she would get back to me in a few days. Days passed and I didn't speak with her. I left several messages. Yesterday, I get an angry call from the Dr. saying she stands behind her diagnosis etc. - basically yelling at me- although the report and several other doctors had clearly stated otherwise. The Dr. even said I was hijacking (direct quote) her office by calling every day when I didn't get a return call from the office manager. It was appalling. read more
