What happened at Aerosports during my best friend's daughter's birthday party last weekend was nothing short of a nightmare, and I honestly cannot stress enough how no family should ever have to endure this kind of stress, embarrassment, and humiliation. It was a complete disaster from start to finish.
Let me break this down for you: My friend, who was exceptionally organized, booked this party four months in advance, reserving Glow Rooms 1 & 2 and even agreeing to pay the $80 extra to secure both rooms. She confirmed the reservation multiple times -- once a month before the event and again just two days before the big day -- and each time, Aerosports assured her that the rooms were reserved and ready to go. It was as if everything was in place, and we were all excited to celebrate a fun-filled, stress-free birthday.
And then came the day of the event -- a total nightmare that completely shattered our expectations.
We arrived, full of excitement, only to be blindsided with the news that the Glow Rooms had been given to someone else, despite my friend's confirmation emails and clear reservation. No apology. No warning. Just an announcement that we had been moved to the Yellow Room -- a room so poorly located, next to the noisy popcorn station, that it was more like an afterthought than an actual party space. It was cramped, loud, and absolutely not what was promised. To make matters worse, the staff member who broke the news was completely apathetic to our shock and disappointment.
When my friend politely approached the staff, she was told that the change had come directly from Dupender, the manager. Instead of owning up to the mistake and attempting to fix it, Dupender coldly blamed her own team for the mishap. She showed zero empathy, and instead of providing a solution, she made it impossible to resolve the situation without an excruciating back-and-forth. Even after my friend showed clear email proof that the rooms had been secured months ago, Dupender still didn't correct the mistake immediately. She argued. She dodged responsibility. She acted like it wasn't her problem -- while the entire party was left scrambling in disbelief.
It wasn't until my friend insisted that she be given the rooms she paid for that Dupender reluctantly agreed to allow us to use the Glow Rooms, but only after a prolonged and painful argument. She promised us that both rooms would be ready by 4:30 PM. To "make up for the disaster", Aerosports promised an extra 30 minutes of playtime and an extra 30 minutes in the party rooms.
But the issues didn't stop there.
At 4:30 PM - our scheduled room time - only 1 Glow room was available. The second room was still occupied by another party and wouldn't be ready until 5:00 PM. The kids were starving but couldn't eat, as they had nowhere to sit, and no one seemed to care.
Finally, at 5:00 PM, the second room was vacated, but to our horror, it was disgustingly dirty. There were crumbs everywhere, garbage on the floor, and the remnants of the previous party still all over the place. No staff came to clean it -- we had to clean the room ourselves just to get the kids settled and fed. This was absolutely unacceptable, but we had no choice. Every parent pitched in to try to salvage what was left of the event.
At 5:25 PM, just as the kids were finally seated and eating, Ankita, the party attendant, came to tell my friend that our party time was supposed to end at 5:30 PM. This was not only absurd, it was infuriating. Our original booking clearly stated that we were to have 1 hour in the party room, plus the extra 30 minutes -- meaning we should have had the rooms until at least 6:30 PM. But no. Ankita insisted the clock started at 4:30 PM, even though the second room wasn't available until 5:00 PM -- how does that even make sense? She also had the audacity to say that we had already used up our extra playtime simply because we sent the kids back to the play area while waiting for the rooms to be ready.
As if that wasn't enough, while we were frantically cleaning up the mess and trying to wrap up the party, **Dupender walked in and publicly screamed at my friend in front of everyone -- including the small kids. She yelled, "I told you to leave at 6:00 PM -- why can't you understand?!" She kept repeating that she was the manager and didn't need to explain herself. It was aggressive, unprovoked, and completely humiliating. My friend remained calm, but the entire room was stunned by how unprofessional and rude Dupender's behavior was.
What was meant to be a joyous birthday celebration ended up as an unmitigated disaster. Parents were cleaning, children were confused, and a birthday that had been carefully planned months in advance was reduced to an embarrassing mess!
